Literally nobody thinks this, not even you if you aren’t actively fooling yourself. My name is literally Italy Suffers, what nation do you think I have played the most? Then understand I OWN ALMOST EVERY NATION. This shit just makes you look bad.
In sim? It is. Smokeless alone makes a massive difference but the IRCCM is also much harder to fool than the R-73s in most cases.
Not getting these strange issues you keep bringing up.
Then that is a skill issue. I have an easier time flaring Aim-9M than R-73s 99% of the time. And thats usually in the hardest aircraft to flare anything in, the FA2 with BOL
I rarely die to either, in the FA2 the hottest aircraft at top tier. With BOL flares. The weakest flares in game.
If you are dying to either, then that’s a you issue. But 9Ms I barely have to do more than pop a few flares. R-73s I normally have to throttle down as well as flares. So defo skill issue on you
I’m not saying that it does. But rather that I don’t think it makes a bit of difference to that particular plane.
Currently the Tornado IDS and Tornado Gr.1 are at 11.7BR which means they will see MiG-23 ML variants on every day of the week. Dropping the MiG-23 variants down a step doesn’t alter that fact.
Bombing is an objective in EC and has an impact on win rates. AV-8B NA with 10 JDAMS routinely destroy the majority of a ground battle in a single pass.
The combination of using an A-10C to control a capture point and then Av-8B NA obliterate the subsequent ground battle is practically a guaranteed recipe for winning any game that isn’t glitched.
On top of that…USA side can now just go kill red side players at the airfield because the AA is getting taken out every 10 minutes.
Maybe they’ve finally fixed it a bit. The last time I tried to play the Gripen. I had a Su-27 flying straight at me on full reheat, I didn’t get a lock until he was 2m off my nose practically. Also had plenty of issues in the Gr7 before that, rarely did they want to lock at any meaningful range.
Shall have a play tomorrow and see for myself. But maybe the A-10Cs HMD was helping out a lot?
There is nothing different about the missile.
You probably couldn’t kick the Su-27 because you didn’t center the reticle of the HMD or it was popping flares and they were not rendering on your screen.
The MIG23M/MF will be the only 11.0 fighter with a look-down radar and All-aspects IR AAM. The MIG23ML/MLA/MLD will be the only fighter in 11.3 with the All-aspects IR AAM, and will also have the most powerful SARH missile in that class. I don’t think the F4K/M is capable of fighting the MIG23ML/MLA/MLD, it is behind in speed, maneuverability, radar, weapons. The JA37C is only better at radar than the MIG23, but lacks the necessary HUD symbols to make it work. The F5E and Sea Harrier FRS.1 had little combat capability in 11.3. The J7E was the best fighter in the 11.0-11.3 range except for Soviet aircraft but the Chinese and Soviets were always on the same side. The Mirage F1C is as powerful a fighter as the MIG23, but is inferior in maneuverability. However, Mirage F1C is at 11.7, and MIG23 players can also choose to have France not appear as an enemy. I don’t know of any other aircraft in the 11.0-11.7 range that is capable of engaging MIG23 and winning. You can’t ask me to fight MIG23 with an F111C/F, and the F111 is 11.7.
Now MIG23ML/MLD players can gain an absolute advantage in 3 out of 4 battles, if you also have MIG23M that will be an advantage in all 4 battles.
Yet doesn’t actually matter regarding gameplay besides the RP/SL you get from shooting ppl down trying to bomb or the RP/SL you get from bombing. Winning/losing has almost no effect on anything in sim. Gaijin has made it into more of a bragging rights ordeal to win.
It’s possible it was the flare rejection at work. It might have also just been Tunisia being Tunisia. It’s quite often that map I have IR issues. In any case. I think the lock range is a lot lower than it should be
Destroying ground battles and regularly returning to the base will maximize rewards. Also destroying ground battles will minimize the number of people that are shot down from SPAA that defends it.
I’d also have to look but I thought there was a bonus associated with winning the match.
Unfortunately gameplay in EC is not purely PvP…and the PvP portion of it as effectively a negative sum game. If I go in with an A-10C and slam a bunch of MiG-23s with Aim-9Ms in a capture point…that is going to reduce their efficiency and reduce their silver lions gain from a match.
The PvE portion of the game is basically the opposite…it’s effectively a positive sum game. If the whole server just shuttles bombs back and forth to airfields and declares a truce…everyone gets maximized rewards and minimal losses.
Planes like the Tornado that are used primarily for PvE probably do not experience the same negative pressure as planes like the MiG-23ML series because the niche they fill and the way they do it is fairly low risk.
