BR Changes - 11.3 is going to be Redfor only

Unfortunately only one side is factually correct here and it ain’t the guy peddling falsehoods about previous metas saying redfor has always been competitive in sim like what lmao

9M has always been better in sim, no arguing this. Sim does not have constant nail biting stallfights where the R-73 pulls ahead. The 9M is objectively better. You’d have a case in RB/AB.

R-27ER being better matters a whole lot when the meta is IR missiles and 9Ms! Let’s not forget the trash ass russian radars trying to hold you back constantly!

And you are just a soviet main that thinks Aim-9M is a god tier missile. It’s worse than Aim-9L half the time due to the lock range issues. Only really good If the target doesn’t see you coming or you are directly behind the target. In any other aspect. You are better off with R-73 or Magic II. I actually spent a chunk of that IR meta time with 2x 9Ls so that I had IR missiles with a range greater than 2km.
.just pop some flares next time

Ok so? It’s a fast plane used by bomb point farmers.

Av-8B NA is one of the best farming places in the game. 10x JDAM on a good platform has changed the farming meta to bombing airfield air defenses.

The A-10C should have never been placed at 11.3BR in the first place. And it will still be overpowered at 11.7BR in 3/4 of the brackets that it fights in.

They moved because planes like A-10C were under tiered and could slam them with Aim-9M. Or they get farmed by Mirage F-1C after the flight model changes.

The Su-27 was not competitive against Gripen and the R-27ER was never OP when 100m multi-pathing negated it. And now that we have 60m multi-pathing…blue side also has better BVR missiles in the form of AMRAAM and Fakour 90.

Red side top tier has not had a decisive advantage since the MiG-23MLD was top tier. Heck…China finally got a flight model that is on par with blue teams…and blue teams are starting to quit left and right at top tier because they don’t know how to fight.

Well… Now the Mig23MLD will just dominate 11.3 again and then hopefully will move back up next BR change. Or a load of things can move down.

At least I can enjoy slaughtering them in the tornado F3 once a week. So long as they don’t nerf it through the floor again

Literally nobody thinks this, not even you if you aren’t actively fooling yourself. My name is literally Italy Suffers, what nation do you think I have played the most? Then understand I OWN ALMOST EVERY NATION. This shit just makes you look bad.

In sim? It is. Smokeless alone makes a massive difference but the IRCCM is also much harder to fool than the R-73s in most cases.

Not getting these strange issues you keep bringing up.

it doesn’t belong higher than mig-23MLD

This doesn’t matter. Balance shouldn’t be based around bombing.

Aim-9M in game, lock range Vs AB target is about 3km in a headon. Good luck even getting a front aspect lock if the target is not on reheat.

aim-9M IRL, lock Vs AB target in front aspect is about 14km.

Aim-9M should have between 3 to 5x the lock range depending on the aspect

In all other respects, it’s an Aim-9L with a different seeker. It’s different to flare to an R-73, but if you know what you are doing it’s easier.

Smokeless only helps in certain situations, but if you didn’t know the target was there, then an Aim-9L will have killed you

Except smokeless and the IRCCM isnt actually easier than the R73s but sure.

Then that is a skill issue. I have an easier time flaring Aim-9M than R-73s 99% of the time. And thats usually in the hardest aircraft to flare anything in, the FA2 with BOL

Or your skill issue is in flaring R-73s, because that can literally go both ways

I rarely die to either, in the FA2 the hottest aircraft at top tier. With BOL flares. The weakest flares in game.

If you are dying to either, then that’s a you issue. But 9Ms I barely have to do more than pop a few flares. R-73s I normally have to throttle down as well as flares. So defo skill issue on you

Sweetie, I can still say the exact same thing you did, and just flip the words.

I’m not saying that it does. But rather that I don’t think it makes a bit of difference to that particular plane.

Currently the Tornado IDS and Tornado Gr.1 are at 11.7BR which means they will see MiG-23 ML variants on every day of the week. Dropping the MiG-23 variants down a step doesn’t alter that fact.

Bombing is an objective in EC and has an impact on win rates. AV-8B NA with 10 JDAMS routinely destroy the majority of a ground battle in a single pass.

The combination of using an A-10C to control a capture point and then Av-8B NA obliterate the subsequent ground battle is practically a guaranteed recipe for winning any game that isn’t glitched.

On top of that…USA side can now just go kill red side players at the airfield because the AA is getting taken out every 10 minutes.

But dropping the Tornados down but leaving the mig 23s at 11.7 would have done so.

This is an Aim-9M launched from 6.6km and from front aspect.

Maybe they’ve finally fixed it a bit. The last time I tried to play the Gripen. I had a Su-27 flying straight at me on full reheat, I didn’t get a lock until he was 2m off my nose practically. Also had plenty of issues in the Gr7 before that, rarely did they want to lock at any meaningful range.

Shall have a play tomorrow and see for myself. But maybe the A-10Cs HMD was helping out a lot?

There is nothing different about the missile.
You probably couldn’t kick the Su-27 because you didn’t center the reticle of the HMD or it was popping flares and they were not rendering on your screen.

The MIG23M/MF will be the only 11.0 fighter with a look-down radar and All-aspects IR AAM. The MIG23ML/MLA/MLD will be the only fighter in 11.3 with the All-aspects IR AAM, and will also have the most powerful SARH missile in that class. I don’t think the F4K/M is capable of fighting the MIG23ML/MLA/MLD, it is behind in speed, maneuverability, radar, weapons. The JA37C is only better at radar than the MIG23, but lacks the necessary HUD symbols to make it work. The F5E and Sea Harrier FRS.1 had little combat capability in 11.3. The J7E was the best fighter in the 11.0-11.3 range except for Soviet aircraft but the Chinese and Soviets were always on the same side. The Mirage F1C is as powerful a fighter as the MIG23, but is inferior in maneuverability. However, Mirage F1C is at 11.7, and MIG23 players can also choose to have France not appear as an enemy. I don’t know of any other aircraft in the 11.0-11.7 range that is capable of engaging MIG23 and winning. You can’t ask me to fight MIG23 with an F111C/F, and the F111 is 11.7.
Now MIG23ML/MLD players can gain an absolute advantage in 3 out of 4 battles, if you also have MIG23M that will be an advantage in all 4 battles.

Yet doesn’t actually matter regarding gameplay besides the RP/SL you get from shooting ppl down trying to bomb or the RP/SL you get from bombing. Winning/losing has almost no effect on anything in sim. Gaijin has made it into more of a bragging rights ordeal to win.

It’s possible it was the flare rejection at work. It might have also just been Tunisia being Tunisia. It’s quite often that map I have IR issues. In any case. I think the lock range is a lot lower than it should be
