The title says it all. Usualy in low tier matches most of the fighting happens in the first 5 mins and only a couple of bombers remain which have just been space climbing all this time. And then it becomes a cat and mouse chase for 10 minutes. 2/3rds of the match is just spent on chasing a couple useless enemies that both prevent you from getting into another game and delay you getting your rp.

Let the bombers shine up for once; they have been almost always the most useless things in WT air, getting shot down very easily in almost every BR.
They actually give you more RP.
Each second spent alive in an ARB match rewards you 1.22 base RP.
This is then multiplied by activity%. Activity% is acquired by f(time alive, score) where it approximates a logistic function (it rises quickly then plateus). Its optimal value seems to be around ~2000 or so score for 12 minutes (this is where I saw 97% and 99% activity).
However 25 x 60 x 1.22 x 0.85 - 12 x 60 x 1.22 x 0.97 comes out significantly positive so you actually benefit despite dropping activity%. Even 25 x 60 x 1.22 x 0.7 - 12 x 60 x 1.22 x 0.97 heavily favours the 25 minute game despite only 70% activity vs 97% at 12 minutes.
Now add to this that this value is then multiplied by Skill Bonus, so getting 3 kills and waiting for 25 minutes is the legitimate optimal play even if you do nothing.
Oh, and multiply by 2 for win, 1.34 for loss.
Premium acc/premium plane bonus requires multiplying WITHOUT skill bonus. For such, treat skill bonus as additive.

Even the problem you speak of is largely a gaijin issue: essentially makes absurd grinding the focus of the game, if you use a fighter there are going to be games where you essentially get nothing, play bomber instead because you at least get something typically but you add almost nothing to the team because gaijin refuses to make better game modes or update mechanics.
Even at top tier it’s a problem, the amount of games I’ve flown out with only missiles and not gotten anything or only 1 kill is mind boggling. Either they die too quickly or we die too quickly. At least, if I equip some napalm or some bombs I’ll probably get something.
So, Bombers need to get killed to you in the early stage of the game because they are DELAYING the game?
in same theory, I also can tell you fighter jocks are ending the match immature by mindless remming dogfight.
Nobody forced you to chase bombers at extremely high altitudes for wasting time.
just shoot the damn targets and let the tickets bleed till death.
If you want to butcher the bombers even further, just propose that full removal of the bomber and a refund instead.

They 100% stall the game. If neither team has less than 5 bombers by the time there are just a couple people left the tickets are still 70-50%. From there you can either kill ai mindlessly or try to chase the enemy bomber.

If you kill the enemy’s AI targets, tickets will bleed, and the match will end eventually.

Dude - prop Air RB is no speed running. There are actually people who play for fun - and not for grinding. The short duration of prop matches you mentioned is just a symptom of decreasing player skill on average…
Even whem games were 1 hour long - there was always a B-29 at 11 km on this bloody Norway map, no red sqare, no handholding by contrails visible for 40+ km. And is was comprehensible as the B-29s had 50-70k repair cost.
I know that’s why I am playing props. I wanna have fun dogfighting. The issue is that I can have 2-3 good fights/kills before I have to do mind numbing ai killing again.
Once again horrible game design by gaijin. There is literally nothing they can do to balance bombers. Bombers are merely a grinding tool only useful for taking out bases and maybe the novelty of playing your favorite plane. We can only hope they will fix bombers in the future

Bombers are only feasible with an air RB rework similar to EC, which will NEVER happen under gaijins management
but if we actually turn them to more relastic they basically became a flying battleship.
“Bombers are useless and needlessly prolong matches” sounds like a 5 year old complaining. Because of kids in fighters, bombers are terribly weakened. If you don’t want to chase a bomber, destroy AI targets. A lone bomber usually won’t win a match against fighters (sometimes I managed to), and a lone fighter can destroy AI targets and even win against 5 bombers.
