No doubt about it
Still, why isn’t that monster BR6.7?
You caught a F2G and a Mk24 flying poorly, not a 190 outperforming somebody who is playing well.
I thought it is?
M3s have like 1.5 times the rate of fire, against jets this may seem insufficient but against wwii aircrafts, and as far as my trials go, it is instant obliteration, especially since u have loads of rounds to spare.
6xm3 in the nose also instantly obliterates jets BTW.
I was so damn surprised when it turned out my F-86 can just fire suoper short bursts and big jet bombers instantly lose tails/wings.
I used to be like "nah, don’t want to struggle, will wait for 20mm Sabre, and it turns out 6xM3 is all you need. Why did Americans bother wirh 20mm variant? They were probably stupid, haha.
The aircraft damage model in this game is just so bad.
TBH the 20mm are a bit faster when u hit the body. My F100 is like laser cutting, rips everything in its way. Honestly I was surprised at first about the damage F86 did, especially cause how much better it felt without the round count of Mig15s, but then F82 already demonstrated how good the 50cals can be.
I honestly think it is ridiculous how much more damage a couple 50 cals do compared to the stealth rounds for MK108 does sometimes.
I mean it takes like four .50cal bullets at most to kill an engine in an instant.
While in reality engines can easily tank .50cal hits.
Even 7.7mm AP melts engines in WT within seconds.
Seems like bulletproof windscreen wasn’t anywhere as cannon-proof as in WT, where it’ll happily tank 50mm HE hitting at effective 1000m/s velocity.
Yeah, it’s really stupid that it has no effect in WT but even protects against explosive shells.
Eh, it’s mostly the effect of instructor.
Flying my 109F4, I find Yak-3s to be a challenging and scary fight but very much an even chance that comes down to which of us is better than the plane carrying things.
I don’t really go above 5.0 in SB nor do I see soviet planes above that BR, so cannot comment. But the 109F4/109G2/109G6/109G14 versus Yak-1B, Yak-9 (variants up to U) and Yak-3, La-5 (variants), La-7, and I-185 feels like a fair BR to BR match-up. 109F4 is my favourite/most-played plane by now I think (~36 hours), and a total of ~70 hours across all 109s.
The difference RB controls and SB controls cannot be understated. You should focus your complaints explicitly on Instructor/Mouse-aim rather than on conspiracies. In RB, the key feature of 109s (automatic leading edge slats) don’t even activate outside of turns with very high slip while they are pivotal for its SB performance.
I’m not even sure it’s an intentional 109 nerf, it might just be the consequence of “small, light plane with an insanely powerful engine that is pretty slippery on yaw and eager to enter an accelerated stall if mishandled” so instructor is set up in a heavily safe territory.
The only legitimate complaint I have is mineshells not fuzing reliably on yak wings and fuselages.
This applies to almost all HE shells we have in game BTW.
It was hilarious when for almost a decade it applied to M-geschoss only out of all 20mm HE shells, ans we couldn’t test it as there was no in-game tool for it. But even when it was - it took Gaijin years to fix
I don’t have any real hopes for Gaijin and this game at this point.
IDK about G-14, that thing is slow as *****. Also less manoeuvrable than other G variants.
G-14 is just a G-6 at 5.3 instead of 4.7
That’s one of my favourite Gaijin jokes, not gonna lie.
These comments, man, especially about me being saved by a teammate when I was obviously about to drop on him, cut into his turn and hose him down
Whatever, forget I said anything, and godspeed to y’all
Did you read what I wrote? You showed a clip of you vs a mk24 and I pointed the mistake the mk24 and why you got him?
If I 1v1 a zero and he reverse his turn into my guns, would this make a compelling argument for X plane being able to outturn a zero?
No, because the zero played badly.
It’s the same thing with the mk24, it’s superior in every way to the 152-C3. The guy you meet panicked and played ultra badly
Just played the 109 K4 right now, because sure.
2-5.
Notable matches:
I pitched up to hit an AI A-26B, hit his belly then pitched down immediately. Both planes looking away, the AI A-26B manages to hit my engine and give me a fire.
Ground Target AAA manages to shear my wing off from the root.
Had to face against 6.0+ and like thirty P-51H’s.
What an awful experience.
I mean like it does fine if u just climb at the start, and do one or two dives on lower alt enemies. Otherwise u have to be a master of 108s to be able to do well, I’ve had maybe 100-200 games in 262s so I am doing better now than before but still it struggles a bit when u don’t get someone first time.
No skill needed for that kill I fear.
I’m just popping in on this thread, but a question came to mind:
Is the Ta152C-3 generally considered weak among you all?
Lately I haven’t been flying much since the B-17 stopped matching,
but I’m curious about the general evaluation of the aircraft I’ve flown.
Is the Ta152C-3 generally considered weak among you all?
For me, when i see a Ta152, i panic a little because it could be the H version and i’ll have to sweat. But when i see that it’s the C version i breath relaxed because i know i can just turn and win, or follow him in a dive for a few seconds then i go back up knowing he’ll never get that altitude back.
I can do literally any maneuver and win.
