It absolutely is. With the new radars with a great scan angle, you can now notch and maintain lock, which was the main disadvantage of Fox 1. You won’t see a SU30SM2 worth their lick that doesn’t bring any 27ER.
the su-30sm2 has been having issues with single target track at angles close or greater than 90 degrees so people are still brining r-77-1s

Most still bring mostly r771. On top tier su-30s I bring max 4 ers, most of the time only 2

Oh yeah of course nobody is going to ditch the ARH as they are much more convenient and has it’s own set of advantages. However, if you really want someone dead, you drop a 27ER lol.

Until such time the Typhoon gets better weapons (or at the very least, its existing weapons are performing correctly) and a number of fixes, such as fixing BOL, it is weaker in a 1v1 fight by quite a bit. But definetly has a path forward to be on par, if not straight better.

you might want to add for the changes to the soviet MiG-29s now since the 9.13 is a 29G copy paste and the “new” 9.12 is like the previous mig-29s
I bet the Typhoon would be an equal to it if Aim-120s had an upgraded seeker, and were slightly better kinematically. Right now all Aim-120s feel bad at long range because everything is easily notched, or bad at close range since they turn too poorly.
It’s an equal to the Su-30SM2, and both are worthy of being a step above everything else.
All seekers have the same notch gate, so all missiles will probably feel bad lol.
Yes even mica seeker has the same notch gate. Just better POV seeker in a sense, that allows it to maintain a better relock rate than normal missiles, same goes for 120D and Pl-12A. That IOG drift allows them to actually not drift off target and the radar of the missile seeker can have a higher chance of relocking through datalink.
That certainly would help.
I dont necessarily have issue with this, except for the fact that Aim-9M are just… useless.
Su-30SM2:
- 14 missiles, 12 of which are R-77-1. Can literally shoot down every jet with <12 and still have missiles left over to secure kill
- 240 deg radar, can launch well beyond the notch and still guide them in.
Rafale:
- Still has a 140 deg radar, so cannot guide while in a notch.
- 2nd best dogfighter behind Eurofighter
- Straight-line speedster, same as Eurofighter
- Can get into a notch really quickly, same as Eurofighter
- 8 MICA EM, which are only useful in close range where people have less time to accurately notch

F-15E/I claim, it doesn’t even have a good radar at 14.0 right now and can’t see anything, so we should place it against AESA radars, fairs
i feel like even if we decompress it they would just recompress it again with more stronger 4.5 gen fighters and 5th gens we need some way to force decompression as they do it to slowly
and its not even just toptier every tier is having compression in every mode its a epidemic
We’re approaching modern craft very quickly. There’s only so much compressing they can do before there’s no stronger planes to add.

That is a fair point, but I don’t completely know how they perform to make a solid guess.
It’s easily tied for the best plane in the game alongside the Rafale, and I don’t think you can prove otherwise.
I will admit the top BRs are a bit too compressed compared to everything else, but mostly because there are so few planes to work with. Either way, they are now 1.0 below top tier, rather than just 0.7 like they are now. They can’t really go down either since the F-15Cs and other top level (current) 13.7s sit.

Gripen D has no gun and worse dog fighting ability, in other words it can’t do anything in close range. R-darters are trade off range vs G pull. on F-15E/I can get buff either in missiles/radar or something fitting tbh
