I know what you mean .16 v 16 is too crowd,because in warthunder,all plane all take off from one spawn,and fight on 10km*10km area,shot fox1 lower than 10km,boring but exciting.For those who love missle shot and can easily find out missle incoming, they love this.Because the only thing you should do is set correct rdar mode and correct missle and shot them to correct enemy.No technological content.(hide enemy missle is not technological,because lower than 100m fox1 cant threat to you,if you have enough flare and chaff,and prelaunch them,fox2 on this game cant threat to you,no technological)In essence,top tier of air realistic is fps,who observe more in place,who win.But there also some player,who love tap potential of the defferent aircrft,they love air combat like WWII gun fight,that can extremely tap thepotential of the aircraft.For those player,top tier is hell.No fun for those players.5 min one match no time for dogfight,the only thing you do is radar lock flare and missle shot,boring.Cant tap potential of different aircraft.different players has different viewpoint.And sadly who love missle shot and just want quick game players are more,thats why your advice was opposed by many people.

Map Design true Einstein made it 4 bases that literally 6 planes can bomb them before others can reach them and most of them are fighters not even attackers
MM is a dice roll some jets have countermeasures others don’t some have 30 to 60 years difference some can bring 8 missiles Radar locks ofc others 12 countermeasures with Flares make 6 tries to avoid missile
Shattered implementation another Genius like the tanks now they mess with the Jets Rus-Chinese Bias again 1 hit from 20-30mm Rus-Chinese Cannon take you out to hangar 4 hits from Defa-Edens take out Flaps-Wheels and not essential stuff pure Dice playing in casino
4 Bases this same Ground target layout with make attackers and Bombers exp pinata for the fighters
0 Teamwork work even if you try ping or show something you get a Chat Spamming message pure Genius
Rewards for killing Ground targets because if you in attacker you will not manage almost 95% of the battles actual bases are so low that is laughable

Then you have the Tom Cruse Fans that clap their hands with this chance to spend time on unbalanced BS just to make K/D ratio better thinking they are real pilots in F-104 chasing G-91s-Venoms and so on it’s so idiotic
Another idiotic chance is putting Radar ballistic computer in F-111 and F-5E the second one is notoriously good at 10.7 where is the Ballistic Radar Comp on Drakens and other Jets Gaijin for you
The issue is even then players tend to gravitate to a single furball because the game virtually always ends by team wipe. Objectives don’t matter because the real objective is other players.
This game mode is hilariously bad. I decided to play some air rb today. I take off in the mig 29, cruise at mach 0.95 towards the furball a couple of KMs behind my team. By the time i reach the first enemy im rushed by 6 planes and almost my whole team is gone.
It was not even 1 minute of fight for me that match. Just a head on vs 6 planes and no teammates. I have no idea how they all died so fast.
If the game was 5v5 then at least id have a chance to carry by myself but 16v16 is just so dumb
I just dont play >9.3 RB anymore. 8 vs 8 would solve the chaotic situation.
as someone who plays sim, where it maxes per lobby on average (i took results every 10 minutes per game for 15 games), it maxes at about 7 people per side

It can even be 16x16, but it has to be on the same maps as the battle simulator, with prolonged confrontations and several targets to be hit, it’s incredible that a developer never arrives to see this, and currently there are only complaints on the forum, they are tarnishing the story this game with so many updates and bad ideas
maps like these were very good and gave immersion, having to calculate the route and fuel needed, and could easily accommodate 18x18
Because doing objectives or killing ground targets give such pathetic rewards and have low impact on tickets.
Since the last economy updates, that made rewards overall worse but with multipliers for multiple kills, doing objectives is pointless, the only worthwhile action is to get as many kills as possible to get up to 100% reward multiplier to actually get ok…ish rewards
Definitely agree with the fact that 16vs16, on small maps, at BR 11 and +, is completely a mess.
The only time 16vs16 is interesting is on the few large maps we have.
Otherwise, on smaller map, 8vs8 would be so much better…
At the moment there is only one way of playing to have a chance to survive in ARB : fly dead low all the time. There is no room for real BVR fighting, and BVR head-on fight that end up in a gun fight (you will be killed by someone else before).
Ok, it’s intense and fun (when you are not killed every games, which is not easy), but it can get quickly boring, especially when you know there are so much more ways to dogfight.
Now that you mentioned large maps, have anyone been getting any EC maps lately, I haven’t and been scrolling through replays for a while I and saw none.
Played 3 matches today at 10.7 and all were matches on City.
16 jets would be a strike package or four flights scattered across the entire area of operations. Those four flights would have different objectives like 1 escort flight, 1 EW flight, 1 SEAD flight, and 1 strike flight. We don’t get that in War Thunder. You’re lucky if anyone is even talking in chat and not being an edgelord.

No, I just remembered it existed and tried to find it. Its probably still in rotation but very rare since you can find it and like/dislike it or ban it in Air RB map list.

This map is a banger.
It became a mess during the period where AI AA was cracked and then sort of disappeared. We now only get the mini versions at low/mid tier props.
What’s wild is we could have this format on almost any map but don’t for “reasons” I guess.
