16v16 is too much for air rb

I’d honestly stop playing air RB again since ground RB would be more challenging & realistic.

16v16 is out of hand. At least if it was dynamic it would be great. But always 16v16 is just the same repetitive furball game style. Why is it so hard to implement?

Here is most challenging game mode in the game.

Actually going through this as I speak… Two 9Ps max constantly facing multitudes of F-15s and SU-27s who don’t have to even think before throwing a 9M/27ER my way is just disgusting.

Even worse with the pitiful amounts of CMs it gets… At least it has flight performance, and 9Ps work sometimes if the person you’re locking them on is an idiot?

Gaijin is doing a survey on things to improve or implement to the game, I encourage you all to participate in it and write your ideas and concerns regarding the current state of Air RB:

This is what I wrote in my suggestion (don’t copy it, but feel free to draw from it):
The current Air RB gamemode needs a rework in order to accomodate fourth gen figher jets. Currently, all games devolve into a furball involving 32 jets, where it’s impossible to keep track of what’s going on. 32 jets with IRCCM missiles in a furball is not enjoyable at all, and it’s not the way fourth gen aircraft are supposed to fight. This also results in a snowballing effect where one team always completely decimates the other, leading to 1v10 situations. Also because of the furballs and the increased playercount, it’s impossible to engage in BVR or dogfights, as you’ll always have enemies interrupting you. BVR and dogfights is the most enjoyable way to fight with fourth gen aircraft. Currently the outcome of all engagements is random since you can’t possibly pay attention to so many enemy aircraft, there’s no skill expression.
Increasing map sizes is not enough to solve this, since the objectives are always concentrated in a small area in the middle of the map anyways. What we need is smaller teams, 8v8 maybe. We also need more airfields to take off from, not just one in the middle. Also objectives should be spread across the map, not just in the middle, this will disencourage the formation of furballs. With these implementations, Air RB will be a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

We are so saved, a gaijin shill will save us! Rejoice

Better than doing nothing…

I can tell you what can work, but they will ban me afterwards

Hardcore mode like the one described in this video would also be a nice alternative: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDtDNaNLXbI

Yeah, those 6v6 Pacific matches are really nice. Just wish they had respawns because they’re way too short.

Imho they should reopen this SA server - i played from March/April sometimes 40% of my matches on the 4 Pacific maps (Iwo Jima, Saipan, New Guinea and Gualdalcanal) and got a hell of ship kills there - but without this “toggle” for SA they became extremely rare.

And short is relative - a few US/UK players learned that the first 2 maps have auto-ticket wins for them (after 15-20 minutes) - try to catch running Wyverns or P-51 C-10s with 3.7 JP planes…

Respawn in Air RB - not my thing…

You are part of them smh

And ?

I would like to see Air RB to be expanded, to where it has more zones and more spawn points.

For example we have the new pacific city (based on hong kong) now only the middle has units, you could give the map in the north another front line with bases, and in the south 2 fleets… So can gave each map a unique feel too… instead of always the central front line with pillboxes.

With extra carriers to spawn from in the edges.

Make the mode rely mostly on destroying enemy units, not mostly the players.

Give the mode respawn like other modes.
There could even be a closer spawn for helicopters.

This gives more roles and functions for more loadout types even in air rb.

I think something else that could kill off the cluster-@#$! furball would be to nerf radar multipath to a more realistic level so that you don’t enjoy blanket protection from radar missiles unless you’re 20-30m above the ground instead of the current hundred+ meters. This would force people to more frequently adopt nothing and cranking as defensive measures against radar missiles, which would force them to stand off at the ranges where such tactics are effective, and consequently split people up since they can’t hyper-condense into a fox-2 furball if they’re busying standing off from the radar missiles.

Uh, you’re not safe from radar missiles if you’re 200 meters off the ground

This game is not playable in air battle atm

More if they were turned into some kinda EC map. Usually there’s only 6 players per side.
