Yak- 130: as usual, Russia is ahead of it's time ... just in WarThunder

A-4 Has fire and forget bombs that actually track tanks. Better all around capability, and has defensive A-A weaponry.

That “evil plane” constantly getting bullied by Rapier, lmao.

If you havent started dodging after the first missile has hit you then that is on you. Takes 2-4 rapiers to take down anything at the moment

Almost no one is dodging Rapier, if it launched at 9.0-9.5 kilometres away from target (only Su-25 and A-10 kinda expecting that, LWS?) and i mostly get normal crits and sometime fatals by that move.

Given it’s max range is about 6-7km. I doubt you are doing anything to something 10km away

Target at 10km → launch → target on 6.5-7 km at the moment of impact.

Even then. The missile has lost a lot of energy and the need to aim quite accurately to do any meaningful damage means that Id usually wait for the target to be sub 8km away, especially if its a slower subsonic aircraft. Also massively reduces their time to react.

So the aircraft is 5-6km away at the time of impact, but at most 7-8km away at launch

You can just fly low and then pop up at close range with s13o or kab500kr. So they have very small time to react and die.

I dodge Rapiers all the time. That being said it’s easily the most dangerous SAM at that BR.

You didn’t notice the irony in the title it seems.
Let me explain it to you:

  • “ahead of it’s time”: meaning put it (YAH130 a 90s plane) in the same BR as a plane from 50-60s
  • and i specified after “ONLY IN WARTHUNDER”

I’ve been playing it (A4E) lately and seems like the walleye seems to not do any or very little damage now?! Game after game, even on the thin plated light tanks I got a full on face hit on TAMS/Stingrays and not even damaged? Wtf is wrong with the servers Gaijin? On Russian tanks I may get some tracks or so.
In the meantime Yaks get pinpoint accuracy with 3+ bombs 3+ kills on a single dive consistently.
Albatros another real ISSUE as well.
The problem I see is that everything is still based on the original battle ratings spread from 15 years ago, so the disease is the original BR design being stuck with.

They’re actually not tracking very well AT ALL. Only if you are lucky to have static targets while the walleyes get close enough to start tracking moving targets. That usually means SPAA which it seem that most players don’t know that they can/should move around. Most of them spawn and stay there.
Otherwise you have to get really close 3-4 km to have an ACTIVE tracking on moving targets, and you’re pretty much a lame duck for the SPAA, with or without countermeasures, as they are not enough to keep you safe to get that close.

Ahead means to be before.
A-4E is ahead of its time in comparison to Yak-130.
If you wanted to use a correct word you’d use “Behind its time” or “After its time”.

There were no BRs from 15 years ago.
Today’s BR spread is from 1 - 2 years ago.

If you’re getting massive frag counts with Yak-130, it’s cause SPAA isn’t up.

Ah yes… There’s no argument to be had on Yak-130, so we resort to “it’s a modern vehicle at such low BR! Where is the historical accuracy!!!”

Aight then Put F-15A at 10.3. Thanks.

Have you ever tried locking onto a Yak-130? Even with Red Tops, which have a better seeker, it’s a struggle at times.

Playing devil’s advocate for a moment, that isn’t necessarily the Yak-130s fault.

Not only do we know the Red Tops seeker is underperforming, but heat signatures are not modeled and are in-fact a total mess at the moment, you have many wierd edge cases of things being ice cold or red hot for clear reason.

Most honest answer, that they’re equal cause in good hands the A-4 is better than average hands in the Yak-130.

Per statshark cause that’s all we have as players, is the Yak-130 has 370k ground kills for 200k games. Where the A-4E has 193k ground kills for 240k games.

For these supposedly inferior jet, its has 190% of the A-4s kills at 85% of the games. More proof US tree has a higher skill level than the Russian tree.

As for the game changing RWR, which is limited to E, G, and I bands which weirdly is not a band Russian SPAA uses. So funny enough against one of the main nations it faces, it might as well not have an RWR. Though that’s also something the plagues NATO aircraft vs Russian aircraft for years.

Look at flight performance of the 2 planes!
One is extremely agile and double performant: 2x climb, 2x faster in turn time, very agile bombs with great locking and TV camera. Plus … locking from MHD? Unless you play russia against russia where you have higher G’s missiles, nothing can hold on that plane.
The other one is slow, can’t climb to launch the walleyes as it’s in the target of any missile. Terrible lock and TV camera, need to dive towards the target to lock and keep the lock before you can launch. Barely can evade, luckily you have a few flares but that gets empty fast and not enough to catch speed to take evasive maneuvers, slow turn, slow speed … everything catches you.
AND i am not the only one noticing this!

But i guess Gaijin waits for enough whales to buy the premium then nerf it ? (but will do it very very slowly, they usually “fix” it very slowly for the russian tech tree)

You still don’t get it…
When you see a 90’s plane appearing on a battlefield with vehicles from the 50-60’s as a participant to that battlefield era, then it’s “AHEAD of its time only in War Thunder”
So the reference I always meant is the 50’s-60’s …
As you mention that A4E may be ahead of it’s time, YAK130 is way ahead of it’s time to be in a battle with vehicles from 50-60’s.
So let’s move on from this argument or keep going by yourself as you please.

@N0REAVER
I do get it, newer vehicles at lower BRs just means those vehicles are “as bad” as vehicles made decades prior
Yak-130 is newer than A-4E, thus cannot be ahead of its time.
Words have meaning, and using words correctly matters.
