Yak- 130: as usual, Russia is ahead of it's time ... just in WarThunder

One of the reasons I play first person ARB with my HOTAS setup. ASB needs a lot more love based on what I’ve seen. It also needs serious tutorials to onboard new players/train existing ones. I can’t imagine being new and trying ASB first lol. I may have quit the game if I did lol.

Its also a shame that things like HMD symbology arent visible in third person

Very much so.

If you’re going to be illiterate or intentionally obtuse I’m just going to ignore you.

Source?

there are three types, the normal non ER/DL one, a ER one, and an ER/DL one. only the last one has man in the loop (DL aka datalink)

If you’re going to be obtuse I’m going to just ignore you.

I am being serious because literally you can go on there and look at the talk pages on continuous issues

Add Historical Battles, and you’ll get slaughtered in your M48 or Centurion by a 1967 T-64A; what you’ll actually have are early M60s, Centurions with the 105mm gun, and maybe Chieftains.

You see, this is what I mean about intentionally obtuse. That’s exactly what I meant about FIRST STOP. Wikipedia isn’t meant to be your end all and be all, it’s meant to be where you go FIRST to see where the standing position is at the moment, and then use the links provided and the discussion in the talk page to go from there and piece together the rest. And then hey, guess what, if you find ample evidence with good sources that something is wrong, you can help fix the page! That is the point, and always has been the point.

I don’t even have a dog in this fight, I just don’t care to see such a good service slandered by people who don’t know understand or know how to use it. This isn’t 2005, and Wikipedia does in fact have a pretty strong editorial and moderation team now, all things considered.

The Aviationist also states the BRLS-130R UAC Rolls Out Second Prototype of Upgraded Yak-130M - The Aviationist

The BRLS-130R is an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar developed to detect small targets with a Radar Cross Section (RCS) of 0.1 square meters at 30-40 kilometers. The radar can detect kamikaze drones against the ground (very low altitude) at distances of 20-27 kilometers and armored vehicles at distances of 35 kilometers. The BRLS-130R radar supports both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat modes allowing the launch of R-77-1 air-to-air missiles with an estimated range of 100 kilometers. The new radar system is intended to equip the Yak-130 combat aircraft expected to enter service in the late 2020s.

Yeah, compare them to the A-4es, especially the Israeli ones, 2x Walleye ER, 1x GBU-8, 2x AIM-9Bs, plenty of counter measures and RWR.
While the Yak has a slightly better FM, 1 extra Kab and a CCIP.
USA one has been in game for 6 years the Israeli one 5, USA and Israeli players have rabidly defended them being at those BRs the entire time an have only now decided its a problem when Russia gets a comparable plane at the BR.

I would take 9.7 but it gets it’s CM pods. but 9.7 it could be with current compression as the Ayit is at 10.0 with a load out of 2x Walleye ERs 3x AGM-65s and 2 Aim-9D/Shifirs along with CMs/ RWR.

Lol, no.

Alternatively, if you want, we can play historical GRB together, you spawn in the Pz38t and I’ll spawn in the KV-1. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? Enjoy!

I am of the opinion that aircraft with ordinance that outrange SPAA capabilities shouldn’t be able to face those SPAA (and other vehicles at those BRs). I’ve been playing 8.7 US, and nearly every game I’ve had has been an uptier to 9.3-9.7. My aircraft are useless as missile based SPAAs are at this BR range, and my AA is useless because aircraft like the A-4s and the Yak-130 completely outrange it. Some of you are going to say “Just get your teammates to deal with them/spawn a plane”, which is frankly a stupid cop-out excuse for bad game design. The whole BR system needs to be reworked, but some changes should be made to either prevent or make situations like this less likely to occur.

There are also aircraft like the Harrier GR1 at 9.7 with no RWR or CMs and only unguided weapons. Which was kinda my thinking why it could be 9.7. But 9.7 is just a really messy BR in every single gamemode. Or even a load at 9.3 that are likewise unprotected but are also limited to just bombs and rockets (Hunter FGA9 for example)

Largely ignoring A2A performance because it is rarely factored in GRB

I’m wondering why something like the B-66B is 8.7 in GRB with a very outdated RWR, no CM, no CCIP, and bugged bombs

Yeah, until recently Japan only had the Saber with dumb bombs and no CCIP/CCRP as CAS at those BRs, most nations only have CCIP at best.
It also doesn’t help that Gaijin seems to forget that split BRs exist for certain planes, honestly the A-4Es, Hunter f.58, Ayit and the Yak could ALL stand going up a step or two, the Ayit isn’t too different from the Hawk at 10.7.
But I’m just going to mock those that defended those planes getting a dose of their oven medicine. We all had to deal with their under tiered F&Fs for a half decade, now they can enjoy it too!

The BRs need to be done by 0.3 and not an entire 1.0 step (I mean actual battles not moving these aircraft up specifically). Aircraft like the Yak-130 just obliterate everything in a downtier because of the gap in AA systems that only sit 0.3-0.7 BR apart.

Yeah compression is a serious issue between CAS and SPAAs at those ranks, the high BR one can just blast the lower BR one with out getting within range.
