The nukes are coming from more experienced players because the XM-1 (GM) hasn’t been for sale for a year (and before that, it had already been semi replaced by other packs), and the Chrysler is console exclusive. It also has a very high skill ceiling and it works well with how most good players play.
I rarely see it in matches, and I don’t see players get many nukes with it.
@Normandy_Corsair
Not as much for ground, and only thing that isn’t correct is armour.
6.7s reload M735 at 9.7 is severely lacking, especially when there’s a 6.0s reload M735 equiv with the KPZ-70, which also has 20mm autocannon, smoke grenades, and arguably better mobility for similar armour at 9.3 still. I think both the XM-1GM and XM-1 Chrysler should be 9.3.
The only real benefit of the XM-1 Chrysler / XM-1GM would be that it has pretty good optics (with thermals).
Would have to disagree. The T-72M1 can only really perform well in downtiers, where its armour can actually work.
Anything that has M774 or above (DM33 is pretty common at 9.3, and especially beyond that) can UFP it, and so its only real advantage is gone.
The OF-40 MTCA, the KPZ-70, the Olifant Mk.2, and the Gal Batash are arguably all much better vehicles at 9.3.
Both prototypes lack armour. Sometimes you’ll survive a really badly placed shot, but thats it.
Without the juicy cheek armour.
Sure , its an Abrams , but without the armour.
You can argue that armour is irrelevant since positioning matters , but i’d rather not die from a random 57mm to the turret across the map.
For the most part , you need to play the XM-1s as if they are light tanks. Getting spotted is a death sentence.
Never up fronted a T72 in my 9.3s
The only way i can kill that fucker its by shooting the lower plate not the upper part
Expecially since they added a soon to be function but not implemented yet so it works like armor around the breach making it impossible to take it out
The only real benefit of the XM-1 Chrysler / XM-1GM would be that it has pretty good optics (with thermals).
You might be surprised but Thermals in a BR no one really has it…its pretty strong
take the EFV for example, with Thermals i can legit pinpoint people across the map (Not open field related btw)
What shells are you using? I’ve consistently UFP’d them with DM33 and most times M774.
I agree that is annoying, though the roof / gunner port / commander port are still viable shot placements against the T-72A.
Yeah, it’s definitely nice for spotting, especially the FOV, but it isn’t too impressive when there are vehicles with thermals and ESS,which is much more useful, at the same BR (like the Olifant Mk.2, Gal Batash, Magach 7C, AMX-32 (105), and CM11).
No.
The MBT-70 has much worse reload (7.5s instead of 6.0s)
The MBT-70 has 25 less HP engine (which isn’t that much but can be noticeable)
And the MBT-70 has half the number of smoke pops (8/4 instead of 8/2).
All of that warrants a 0.3 difference in my opinion.
XM578E1 is basically M735, and so it won’t pen the T-72A’s UFP.
However, DM33 definitely should, unless you’re pretty far away and you shot at it at an extreme angle.
