Why zerstorer and leopard 40/70 are at the same BR?

Skill issue.

The Leopard was “created” in the 90s - how “late” does it need to be?

For (tangent) comparison the WZ305 was apparently created in the 80s.

idk. There’s probably some historical reason for it. Like Italy didn’t buy proxy shells or something.

Romania also never had any gun pods on their Hs 129 but we still have them in the game.
Or Soviet P-39s having 37mm AP-T.

Gaijin doesn’t care that much for historical accuracy.

I mean I‘m pretty sure that what rounds or missiles a vehicle can use just depends on how Gaijin wants to balance them.

Yeah, if increasing its BR, go all the way and give it APFSDS)

did the bofors L/70 or even L/60 actually used a proxy fuse?
I am very bad at research myself.
If it did I would not care if they shot up in BR, I just find 40mil very unhandy, 37mil is the max caliber in which I could still shoot down planes in a somewhat reliable way.

I don’t really see how .3mm would have any difference at all tbh most 37mm are lower or set at identical firerates with worse velocity and shell damage. and the hevt shell was used.

neither do I.

The on the l/70 and L/60 they can, there’s a couple the ships already in game with the l/70 that they can use proxy fuze aswell

damn, well it better be added because the only time I was killed by a bofors while I was on a plane was when I suicide bombed a M19A1 because an enemy plane shot my tail off.

Most of the L/60 platforms too low of a br to get them without masively increasing the br

then increase them, if it means I can actually shoot down planes in a reliable way.
I know people despise those super low tier SPAA when used for anti tank.

the Italian quad 20mm is honestly probably a better choice if you can’t make the 40mm work, you get less range but unlike the Germans you have belt fed guns so you don’t have to reload allowing heavy weight of fire

M42 has better turret than the R3, but … it’s so damn slow.

M42 has HVAP/APHE (it’s called API, but it’s not) belt that launches APHE woth HVAP velocities, giving it insanely good range for 20mm.
When it comes to killing planes, it outranges Wirbel by a good 30%. And thanks to APHE, it’s more deadly too.

only problem is ammo economy and it’s really not an issue anymore

Yeah and the fact APHE can penetrate 51mm Sherman turret side and back at short range is pretty funny, it works vs Pz IV from the front at quite some range for whatever reason. Anyway, it generally is the only SPAA that can beat Soviet double 25mm truck in anti-air dury.

But I’m going off topic. I would be pretty happy for Leo to get HEVT, this way it could go a bit up, and cover a hole in SPAA range, also generally HEVT is extremely fun.
Now, if only 20mm cold war SPAAs would get their APCR fixed so there’s not a hole velow Leo once it goes up, because R3 is pretty sad nowadays, and it shouldn’t be, as 20mm APCR had a very solid flat and angled penetration (de Marre equation is just a load of horsemud) instead in WT it shatters on Hellcat.

They have basically the same composition with Pzgr.40 in HVAP/API belt, idk how you get better range…

Italian APHE is slower but heavier. When fired ar 1050m/s benefits a lot more than Wirbel.
And italian shell most likely has a lot better drag coefficient, as German shells get the worst DCs even when it makes no sense.

Idk, I don’t see any difference in ballistics in the game.
