Why zerstorer and leopard 40/70 are at the same BR?

They are both 6.0 right now.
Does gaijin think that:

  1. panzer 4 chasiss = leapard 1 chassis
  2. 77mm pen APCR = 93mm pen full calibre AP
  3. 60 deg rotation speed = 72 deg rotation speed
  4. 3 crew turret = 4 crew turret with shield
  5. 4s reload = 0.5s reload

The only thing that zerstorer have is 840 ammo (while leopard40/70 is 228), but because it has 4 guns in total, the actual round is 840/4=210, the persistence is almost the same.
Why put them in same BR? I think they should have at least 0.7 BR difference.

It has way more fire rate plus 3 more guns to take out planes easily, while rhe leo has only 1 slow 40mm bofors that you can also encounter in rank 2.

Zestorer is much better as a spaa, the bofors is nearly useless for aa purposes

Because the Zerstörter is an Spaa at first and the Leopard is basically a light tank in game.
On of them has both decent antiair and antitank capability. While the Leopard has a more difficult time to shoot down planes, in exchange of having a better time against tanks.

They could simply give that Leopard HE-VT ammunition and upgrade it to Br 7.7.

It’s a fast firing, higher velocity Bofors, though.

I think I can explain this with zsu57-2, same very strong antitank ability, but can’t do AA jobs.

Leopard with much greater turret rotation has better chance for success as an spaa than the ZSU.

Ok, but that doesn’t really have as much relevance here. The Leopard is still a bad spaa at 6.0

no this is a 240rpm fire rate gun not like earlier bofors, with a very high velocity he round, it’s actually very good at shooting down planes

Same as the French vehicle.

Except it has completely unusable zoom for leading aircraft, which is quite annoying.

Maybe it would be good far hitting helicopters at some range.

But it’s setup as your regular WW2 Bofors AA.
So I can’t see why it has like 8x magnification for the optic.

No, it isn’t. I don’t know what else to tell you. 240rpm is not sufficient when every other spaa gets far more. It’s a slow firing (relative) gun with nothing to assist it.

The Chinese WZ305 is rated Br 8.0 because it uses HE-VT ammunition. The Leopard 40/70 with HE-VT ammunition could easily be rated Br 7.7, since firing faster than the WZ would make it more effective as a SPAA.

The relative performance would not be as good due to worse ballistics and worse radius of effect due to 1 gun vs 2

he-vt on spaa should not be on br lower than 8.0
also it is better as spaa, so i see no problem there.

Nope. It’s a bad SPAA and only usable as a light tank, which gives it 6.0 capability.
