I don’t think Gripen is an amazing plane. I actually think it’s below average. However it does dogfight pretty well. Avoiding missiles at the start of the match is quite annoying since you have to do it every single match but it isn’t that hard.

Im trying to get to the Gripen, im currently at the 9.0 thing with chaff only…
Avoiding missiles is something I still suck at, I have to use the terrain to hide.

Yeah bless him Alvis confuses the hell out of me too but the whole player base and game is locked into this “Are we historical or not” thing and it is somewhat surreal. Do we serve game play or history or both or neither.
Anyway, I do now need sausages and beer : ) Maybe somebody can help the OP out with their I-16 nightmare.

Ofc not but with the vehicles I play and enjoy they are not even remotely correct lol. Naturally I have only looked more into these said few vehicles (CVR(t), chieftain, and the Harrier jets) as IRL I like them and have seen them in person.
A game will never be perfect I can live with that but the Harriers missing 2 G STR and ITR as well as time to climb and acceleration into the minute marker that’s not even an attempt from gaijin to make them realistic. Also the RAF harriers don’t even have the correct visual model with all harriers using the AV-8A fuselage.
The Chieftains have completely incorrect frontal upper plates and engine they are missing around 100 BHP.
Everything CVR(T) wise scimitar and striker has incorrect Armour, Armour thickness, engine/drivetrain, speed and acceleration.
Most vehicles have big stuff wrong with them.
The American hand holding when it comes to planes at top tier?
When Germany, Britain, Italy and France have the best planes at top tier, I don’t see how that adds up.
What other plane is missing 2 G STR. As well as its defining most notable feature (VIFF in the Harriers case) completely not even modeled in game.
The CVR(T) isn’t even capable of withstanding the bullet it was designed to withstand lol.
So are you like, forgetting the majority of WT’s life where USA has been and will again be dominant? Or the many things that are still handheld in USA aviation that isnt true for other nations? See: F86?
Gaijin definitely needs to pick a side of the fence. Either do things historically, or do things realistically. As you have pointed out removing things soley for being unhistorical makes no sense in an unhistorical game, especially when they should have used that reason not to add the thing in the first place.
And all of this ties into Russia as well, as the world is currently finding out they outright lied about alot of their vehicles capabilities. But I dont see Gaijin making changes to account for it.

Those planes you are talking about have been in the game for two months. Check where Britain and Germany were before last update.
Sure USA might not have the absolute best plane right now but their planes have been amongst the best for a long time now.

The issues with Russian stuff is on paper a lot of their kit was good, but with all the corruption and poor manufacturing quality they ended up being not so good.
That makes it pretty hard for gaijin do they model the T-34 historically (can’t get into different gears without a hammer, welds crack under normal conditions ect) or do they model it realistically as in the design and properly made T-34 would be a fairly good tank.

War Thunder doesn’t need to make changes to Russian vehicles cause Gaijin never used Russian sources for Russian vehicles anyway. Gaijin primarily uses NATO sources for Russian vehicles, which is why Kontakt 1 is the worst ERA in the game.
I’m saying the USA has been the dominant nation in the air for the game’s entire life basically more than anybody else, and that this will continue to be the case forever? They are definitely handheld, artificially at that.
