I most certainly would. Why? Because if there was a very good jet, ahead of the game vs everyone else on redfor, suddenly there is a mass spike and good retention on that side. Why? Because some people aren’t that good and want to feel good so they fly great planes.
Problem is in games. Pretty much 3.0 and up USA is pretty good in most areas, therefore people desire those aircraft more, it’s simple psychology
It is more commonly on blue team at the bracket. That’s also not counting Japan F-5 etc that also tend to do better than 23 MLD. Or oddball A-10C played as a fighter.
Gaijin balances by efficiency and predominantly bombing in SB will inflate it. Planes like MiG-23ML aren’t popular or strong enough to reduce their average efficiency.
Same reason F-4F ICE moved down and not Tornado F.3 Late. F3 Late never had period where it was only choice and was also always outnumbered 2-1.
And yet they perform better on average. Might have something to do with normally being backed up with planes that actually stand a chance in a dogfight.
a lot of US aircraft 3.0 and up are pretty well known and famous. Mustangs, Corsairs, Hellcats, P-47’s, Sabres, the Thud, F-104, Super Sabre, AV-8B, Aardvarks, SLUF, Crusaders, Phantoms, F-15, F-16, F-14, A-10, all of them are fairly well known or historically significant in some way
Which is probabyl why I see so many Mig-23MLD and Mig-23MLs at 11.3 and 11.7 then whenever I tried to play 11.3/11.7 brackets
Whenever I play 12.0 in the F3, Bleufor is mostly base bombing F-4S and Redfor is quite often F1C-200s base bombing
The last few times i tried to play 12.3-12.7 it was jsut pure premium F-18s. Im sure if I laoded into a 12.7 lobby right now, it would be US premium F-18s vs German premium F-18s.
People usually just play the premiums in SB over wahtever is good. The biggest issue for redfor is the lack of a 12.3/12.7 premium for China and Soviets. Add that, and redfor would probably become just as popular at those BRs.
It’s more fair on console. And what do you mean “auto aim” I have played on both pc and Xbox.
If your referring to “aim holding” which is totally different, and only works on aircraft, let alone aircraft in the wide open, while your in a tank, all it does is hold where you are aiming. It doesn’t aim for you at all.
Meanwhile on pc:
Sound mods (pretty much cheating, especially with the right mod)
Actual cheats
Ultra low quality
VR
And turning tanks is janky on controller, as driving the tank is more setup for keyboard.
Seems pretty imbalanced to me.
Both can use Hotas though.
Mig-23MLD has closer performance to quite a few 12.0 aircraft at a bare minimum it should be 11.7, with a few 12.0s moving down to join it at 11.7.
Mig-23ML is incredibly powerful as both a base bomber and fighter. In fact it outperforms the Tornado IDS in that role 9/10 times.
Mig-19s and Mig-21s always seem fairly solid. Though if im playing 9.0-10.7 these days. Im in a mud mover avoiding the fight wherever possible as I dont really see the point of trying to play aircraft like the Hunters.
When it comes to the lower BRs (specifically 11.7 and lower) the strongest option bluefor has at 11.7 is most likely the A10C, due to it being ouright OP and undertiered, as it is u ironically one of the best A2A fighters of the bracket, as well as one of the best if not arguably the best cas vehicle of the entire bracket as well, capable of nuking the opposite team’s tickets in a very short amount of time.
