Why is the US getting an F-15 variant with no HMD?

Wow… exciting…4 aim7’s that we’ve had for over a year now, that go straight into the ground anytime a locked target goes anywhere near the ground. I’ve watched in replays as R-27s ride 10 feet off the ground holding a track on me when people complain about Russias “bad radars” They could atleast give us Aim7p’s

Better missiles over the F-16C, which was your entire topic of confliction.

It seems like you’re just here to bitch for the sake of it.

I agree they should get better AIM-7 variants, I’m just saying it’s not really a straight downgrade (over the F-16) as you get more missiles

The way I understand it, the F-15J was created off the F-15A and so is an F-15A analogue until it got upgraded to C standard later on.

Every single SARH missiles does the same, whether it comes to the most maneuverable (530s) or the fastest (27ERs).
“Watching replays” of missiles just barely off the ground and hitting an enemy mean nothing. I’ve seen replays of a MIM-146 hitting a helicopter via proxy fuse under 15m, which is technically unable to happen.

Not really. But all of the things that seperate the early C variants from the A variants have no effect in game. Lots of electronic type upgrades.

The C variants received a lot of upgrades, some of which would effect balance like the more powerful engines and radar upgrades(AIM 120 capability).

Currently the only difference that should exist between the F-15A and the F-15J is the AAM-3. And the J being about 400 kg heavier

So the options for the US to get something better would be the MSIP variant of the F-15C which would have the better engine.

If Japan also got that version, the MSIP F-15J it would also be better as it would still carry the AAM-3.

So I’m not sure what it is that US mains want besides to just be the best at all times

In my head anyway I differentiate A and C (and thus J) by the radars, which did change between variants. But yeah they should be basically the same except for the AAM-3, which honestly is just cool that there’s something unique there.

The US F-4s in game are intentionally being held back from their IRL capabilities, find another branch to cling to.

Welcome to bussia rias planet, Nato vehicles have to become food for Russia/china vehicles.
It is same as Nato vehicles get HEATFS as begin while Russia/china get APDSFS.
Do not believe that “US/Nato will get better next patch” because when they get upgrade model, Russia/china will get better model too.

Russia & China use stock HEATFS same as USA.
The only countries with stock APFSDS below rank 8 are Britain and Sweden two NATO countires, no one else.
Russia doesn’t have anything groundbreaking this update anymore than everyone else.

Well not any more at top tier no stock heat now

I do a pretty good job speaking only when I know the full story.

Thank you very much for update my knowledge.
I totally quitted GRB after i recognized that my T80U had stock APDSFS while type 90, IPM, Leo 2A4 had to use HEATFS stock long time ago.

There’s a problem with that though. Every HEATFS for top tier used to be 550mm of pen, but during update 1.98 (I think, might be the wrong update, still happened though) everything (including Chinese 125mm HEATFS) was nerfed to 480mm of pen except for Russian 3BK18M, which retained 550mm pen. Just a bit annoying.
This means that Russian HEAT, and Russian HEAT only, performs way better than HEAT of every nation at top tier.

That’s his most played air tree
Though he’s got the F-16A and the Tomcat

Ugh that honestly sucks. Another 400k RP grind for basically the same jet as the F-15A, just with AMRAAMs. Yippee.

It was 650mm for NATO & 550 for 125.
And the 650mm made getting APFSDS useless cause it was only 470mm of KE pen that cost 1200SL per shot.

This. I mean if we’re going off of adoption/production date then when the R-27R/T’s were added the US should’ve gotten the AIM-7P (both had 1987 adoption dates), and the US should’ve gotten the AIM-120A/B when the USSR got the R-27ER/ET (early 1990’s adoption dates).

The F-15C should come with better engines (same top end but better power at low speeds), better radar, TWS, more CMs (BOL, though the A should also get them), JHMCS, TGP/IRST, and LGBs. In addition to its AIM-120s it will be a significant upgrade to the current F-15A.
