The early F/A-18 being 12.7 wouldn’t even be that bad if it didn’t get constant 13.7 uptiers.
No Fox-3s. No IRCCM. Yet every match is full of AIM-120s, R-77s, and missiles you can barely defend against, let alone compete with. The Hornet ends up fighting aircraft with an entire generation advantage in missile technology. You basically spend the whole match notching, chaffing, and praying instead of actually fighting.
A 12.7 jet without Fox-3s should not be seeing full 13.7 lobbies this often.
For the same reason that 11.7s (or even 12.0s) have to fight the F-18s, whilst lacking the same kind of SARH performance. If we follow the basic logic, the F-18 premiums should be moved up to 13.3 so that the Phantom FGR2 and Viggen D with only Aim-7E-2 (equivalents) dont have to fight Aim-7Ps
Everything I’ve heard from @Beeschurger is that the Premium F-18s are really strong at the moment and actually OP at their current BR, moving them down or buffing them at their current BR is totally unncessary.
If it had AIM-120 and AIM-9M, it would be 13.3+. Not 13.0 Further, this makes no sense as 1. F-18A never used that 2. F-18A would be a higher BR than F-18C models.
First, it’d be 14.0 with the Finnish F/A-18C (not MLU 2) since they both have no HMD and use the same A2A loadout.
Second, that’d uptier every F/A-18C Early which is multiple premiums. Why would Gaijin uptier their premiums by so much when its intended rating is 12.7?
Third, F/A-18C Early are perhaps the best 12.7s in the game arguably. They don’t need to be moved to 14.0.
