Why is the 9K127 Vikhr in game?

No, all 16 Hellfires can be guided at one time

he’s right in this one sense where Hellfires are good for farming in PvE because you can “queue” your missiles in the air to make up for the slow speed of them (in comparison to the Vikhr, the same is possible with Makopa/AKD-9+10)

What? No way
I genuinely didn’t know that you could fire more than one Hellfire

I don’t know if the Heli TOWs are different but TOWs have a hard limit of 3.75km and a guidance time of 25s which is 3s earlier than the Vikhrs.

Laser guided means the missile goes to the laser, which means you can launch all 16 and it’ll go to your laser.
I didn’t overtly share the information cause other players are better than me at ripple firing and it’ll just make my experience worse if I start seeing countless AH-64s and Rooivalks in my PVE matches.
I love when I see Ka-50s cause they aren’t competition for assaults or convoys, only bases and A captures.

@warthogboy09
What’s it like thinking the world is out to get you?

Vikhrs haven’t proxy’d on missiles in well over a year, if not two.
It was corrected before Pantsir was added to the game.

@Axzuel
That has nothing to do with the guidance window.

Guidance window different than Guidance time?

they still have proxy just tested it

That’s not what I meant…
If you lock one target and fire missile on it, it will go for that target
When you switch the target, the previous target is not lit up anymore by the laser
The missile will go for the target that is currently “painted” by the laser
EDIT: You can only track one target, not multiple

Yes?

Guidance window would be the launch and cone of control for the missile
At least using basic English; if it’s jargon I implore guidance time over that as it’s more clear to everyone.

Correct, which is why there’s a 5 second wait between launches, that’s enough time between missile hits to switch targets when prepared correctly.

Yeah, then I stand by what I said
600m/s beats 475m/s

dont forget the Vikhrs go to the target hellfires fly to the sky first

It doesn’t though:

Vikhrs take longer to take out multiple targets than AGM-114s.

Yes, Vikhrs will frag the first target faster, but the Apache has 7 missiles in the air.

Vikhr’s being a fast TOW-2 with an 8km range against moving targets does not make it a top 5 missile.
With the amount all of you defend Vikhrs from factual criticism from non-Russians one could get ideas…

Right, Hellfires have lofting

also the first 12 given the ka50/ka52 are much faster so they have fired everything and start blasting 30mm on the rest before the ah64 arrives
also the ka50 has a proper 30mm not the heat slinging AGS-30 clone the ah64 has

Now hold on a minute
Where have I defended it?

A bit of advice, read what you plan to post before hitting that blue “Reply” button.
Do not accuse me of defending something I don’t even have, I am simply saying what my experiences were while flying against them in PVE.

lol Actual Russian propaganda post.
Ka-50 is 30kph faster, 30.
Vikhrs are one at a time firing if you want to be accurate.

Kamov isn’t as powerful as Russian sources claim.

War Thunder and NATO are correct about Kamovs.

Not to mention they are adding helicopter components next update to the KA-50, so it’s gonna be “less good”

Good.

The Vihkr has more than twice the range and twice the speed of the TOW-2… And past 800mm of penetration there is a pretty big drop-off in the utility of the extra penetration. Cherry-picking stats?

Given that it’s also, just not right, it’s not gonna be nerfed for long.

The rear-fuselage and tail-section start, all that “electronics” are for ground crew and maintenance, not much else.
