Only situation when I don’t help with repairs is if someone is somewhere in the open. It only gives opponent 2 kills instead of just one. If someone asks for repair behind cover I always help if I am close enough.
That’s good. To me it just feels like people willing to help those with no parts are extremely rare.
Once I have parts - I get people willing to help with repair pretty often.
Tank with no parts - a guaranteed “barrel damage = out of battle” scenario.
I don’t think that I have EVER been helped in my entire WT career. I just don’t get it. It feels like an unwritten rule - if you are in a stock tank, you have to suffer.
It happens to me almost all of the time.
Sometimes I have to hold to repair like 3, 4 times in a row before it actually starts repairing. Not sure why it’s still an issue after so long.
Well to be fair, the OP explained the repair requests came when there were no enemies threatening.
So I don’t see how that request is selfish.
Not the request itself but blaming a situation where the game put the player in other players, in this regard is a forced “team-based” game, as much as I hate to be like a parrot repeating this; but even though these are two distinct games, War Thunder and Gaijin should learn the team-based game in a tank game like World of Tanks where in-game matches tasks are very much visible: heavy tanks in close quarters, light tanks flanking and scouting, mediums supporting and tank destroyers and self-propelled guns assisting in the rear. In War Thunder, as I explained further is much more rewarding doing things by yourself than assisting a teammate.
In a game like War Thunder where you’ll see heavy tanks at the back while most of the time light tanks take the spearhead, the term “team” is very blank, it doesn’t matter how the team performs, only your own performance in the match will matter for your reward, meaning assisting a teammate is pretty much opitional and may not result in a advantage for your own team, and as I said before again, can lead to the enemy player to get the points given that vehicles without improved parts need around 30 seconds to repair critical modules.
Now you’ve moved the goalposts.
You said…
“This is a very selfish post in my opinion, in reality, a person without improved parts will function more like a trap and potential additional score for the enemy player than anything else, complaining about the fact that the game put yourself in and blaming your ally is, as I said selfish”
The OP was not acting a s trap, as clearly explained.
Most of the people play like bots, they will not even notice an enemy tank behind them. And the rest just dont want to wait 35 secs or more for helping a repair, and a small % will actually help you.
Try to go repair to a capture zone instead, but when the engine its the problem, its better to J out to not waste time.
Gaijin should add rp rewards for heliping repair, it should make people to actually be more helpful with their teamates.
I also often encounter this
Oh don’t worry the request for repairs without parts is utterly broken. I have had instances playing with friends in voice comms where it took us over 20 seconds of actively trying to repair to even get that shit to work. You think it’s active but it’s not, you start helping but it cancels itself.
The symbols that should show up when you request that are barely visible so I really don’t blame people for not seeing it.
The chat thing cannot be explained. People just don’t realise there is a chat sometimes.
reply of the year lmfao
I do help.
…when I have a BP task
yeah, there was an agreement that we wouldn’t help you repair under no circumstances, we all had to sign the agreement, you should take this personally.
Dude, this joke has been done already. I’m just surprised how absolutely unhelpful other players are. I think the whole “get repaired by teammate when you have no parts” mechanic could simply be removed and basically nothing would have changed as people are not willing to help.
no one bothers with it nowadays, not many kind souls left in the game
Can confirm it is bugged and does not always show. Sometimes you have to do a full “basic” repair before a team mate can help you.
Do you know if it’s been reported?
The thing i think i’ve seen is it saying “Hold [F] to request repairs” regardless of the state it’s actually in. Meaning that the tooltips say that even when you’re already actively requesting repairs making you accidentally turn them off. Not entirely sure though as that was a while ago and i tend to not be without the upgraded parts for long.
man i bet this is hilarious

Honestly I have no idea. I have given up hope with the bug report site. I do not have patients to sit there and re-report something till the site actually figures the details are valid.
Last attempted report was the floating tree on Volcano map next to the volcano that only renders when you are close to. Noting that was submitted with the original report on the floating trees to the map. Everything else got fixed except the one tree.
I once did a full basic repair and could no longer ask teammates for help, lol, luckily it was a flat city map, so having effectively L3’s engine in 32t tank allowed me to crawl far enough to shoot someone before the game ended.
I always help but yhea some people dont do that.
