Why is F4J(UK) at 12.0

Those GBUs are really OP in A2A combat. Definetly needs to go up higher :P

what

We can sign Kizvy up for the pro-compression board

Moving a bad plane down isn’t compression, especially since the F-4J UK can’t really be considered as a better than the Mig-23MLs.

Moving more and more PD jets downwards does in fact raise compression

Technically yeah, but if those PD jets aren’t that good and are equal to lower BR planes, then what’s the issue?

Also the Viggen exists, and while being a worse plane, is it really 0.7 worse?

yeah fk no sense tornato witout gbu is 11.3 and asta is 11.7 because have laser guided bomb this really helps in air battle gaijin br :S

As much as I think F-4J(UK) sucks balls and I wouldnt mind it going to 11.7, im with corsair on this one solely because of the long term consequences.

We could already see it when F-15A was moved down (and to some extent even before that with the french squadron F-16). Like everyone went to argue that now F-15A is 12.7 their jet obviously cant be at the BR theyre at. We got such golden takes like 12.7 MiG-29 to 12.0.

Like more and more is the current state of 11.7 and above fixed with bandaid solutions of moving single planes up and down instead of systemic decompression, worse the situation becomes.

Its F-4J(UK) today, what it will be tommorow?

Su-27 going down to 12.7 since Su-33 sits at 13.0?

It should have stayed at 11.7 instead of moving up anyways, same with the FG.1. The FGR.2 should’ve gotten its historic 9Ls to stay at 12.0.

The people who made those takes are braindead. But Gaijin listens to braindead takes more than they listen to intelligent people.

Decompression like what we actually want will NEVER happen. As long as the Tornado F.3 stays at 12.0 (only reason its 12.0 is because Gaijin doesn’t want to fix its trash flight model.) then there is zero argument for the British Phantoms being at 12.0 (especially the FG.1 and F-4Junk) because they all are worse than it in every single metric.

The next subpar jet that doesn’t perform at its BR.

Never happening because the Su-27 has a better FM than the Su-33.

Does that mean community should give up its efforts fighting for it?

Id say no.

Lets move Tornado F.3 up then :p

And what happens if said jet becomes subpar due to different jet we moved down previous week?

It gets moved down as well?

Thw same situation will repeat until you run out of BRs.

Fix the flight model.

Won’t happen wit hthe F-4Junk. It’ll be trash even at 11.7

youre missing the point.

It isnt about this specific case, its about how it will go down in general. Thats why specifically DIDNT use F-4J(UK) as example.

Sure it might not happen with F-4J(UK) but its setting up a precedent.

F-4J/S has AIM-7F and HMS

F-4K/M Phantom FG.1/FGR.2 has Spey Engine (I don’t like to call it an advantage, unlike Alvis wants, but still…:| )

F-4J(UK) Phantom F.3 has neither.
With due all respect, is there any proper reason why F-4J(UK) needs to be stay 12.0BR and being stuck with other PD Phantoms

Except “British need to sacrifice once again to stop compression, and for the greater good, while others and Gaijin don’t give a damn about decompression.”

Yes, we all know decompression is a grand plan, and the best way to solve the whole problem
Even Alvis knows it is a good idea.

The problem is,
It will simply not happen.
Major nations main, or some selected jets will stay undertiered forevermore, and things will get worse and worse and worse.

I mean, cleaning the table is a good thing, but it can quickly become worthless when some random guys visit the table every 30 seconds and break dishes, spill wine, and such… while the police, who need to stop them(Gaijin), just watch them go on a rampage because they got bribed well.

Yes, Normandy’s solution is ideally better than a band-aid solution. but just… F…
Honestly… I feel dead tired of this, and fighting for decompression feels null and void nowadays.

At this rate, no matter how we do, we Brits will pay British taxes; those undertiered jets such as F-15A, Su-30MK(13.3s), F-86 and MiG-15 will be babysat forever.
Imbalance and bias create payroll, and Gaijin will patch BR to only rely on average reward netting as ‘how it is good or bad’
Brokenly OP vehicles lure bad players, average statistics go bad, remain undertiered for decades or maybe even could get extra buff(/j), while brokenly dead vehicles lure no players, average statistics go brrrrr, remain overtiered untill end of war thunder.

Just saying, IF Gaijin ever thought about damn balance in even few seconds per A YEAR.
Tonka IDSs with Guided munitions wouldn’t ever remains 11.7BR for years. :|

Probably F-4S to 11.7, or F-4E to 11.0 will be tomorrow, ig.
no matter how we get F-4J(UK) buff or not.
Or another “gib F/A-18C Early AIM-120A and make em 13.3 instead of 12.7” case, maybe?

Just give me SuperTEMPs on F-4J(UK) and it would instantly make it better than F-4S in my book
(I’m not the biggest fan of helmet slaved seekers and radar)

EDIT: Unlike F-4S, F-4J(UK) could actually retain Skyflash DF along with (if added) SuperTEMPs

Yeah, HMS gives an advantage, but since neither F-4J/S has either All-aspect or Thrust-vectoring IR missiles

So, the advantage gap of having HMS or not would be narrower.

I mean, it might be an advantage, but not as big as ARH planes or R-73 slingers.

I am quite unsure, but the Regular variant, F-4J(USN) can mix AIM-7E-2 with AIM-7F?
I don’t have F-4J(USN) of mine, so I’m unsure about that.

SuperTEMPs were a Tornado only thing.

I think I saw some British guys claimed SuperTEMP was capable of being equipped on F-4J/K/M in their last days, but I do not currently have any tech document in my hand, so we might need to ask some legit brit guys about that ig.

Counterpoint: if we cannot have superTEMP, how about AIM-9L, which is also historically capable of?

Not really, no
Link to bug report in question
(All three could carry SuperTEMPs)

Both have the same radar system
I guess F-4S doesn’t have 7E-2DF because its premium. I guess…
