Im trying to find my source on it. Having problems. I know ive seen it said before that atleast one of the prototypes STARTED work on being converted, and the drawings were made and everything (infact the Black Prince in warthunder uses the Engine bay design for the Meteor Black Prince, and not the Bedford engine)
I either play 6.3 for FV4005 or 7.0 for AVRE. But if they add some more interesting 6.7, I might take out the 6.7s in their own lineup (probably not, I love AVRE).
As you can see, the Black Prince in game is modeled with the Modified engine bay for the V12 meteor, not the Flat 12 Bedford Type120 that was in the normal prototypes.
The only incorrect part of it, is that the engine should be tilted, as to clear the engine deck of the Black Prince, the Meteor would have had to be tilted, as it was too tall otherwise.
M26 would be a terrible addition (if nothing is done), as it’s severely outclassed at 6.7. It should go back to 6.3 where it belongs. In that event I wouldn’t be opposed to adding M26 to UK tech tree… but the other Centurion variants you posted look way more interesting.
I don’t want to derail this thread entirely though so take disagreements over here
I mean, the concept of putting a Meteor in a Churchill was completed later in the 1950s by the Irish, using the same concept of Tilting the engine to make it clear the engine deck.
So there is some justification for it there, as if it could fit in a Churchill and work, It can absolutely fit in the Black Prince.
We absolutely do? The british have no fight above 6.0, until you get to 7.7.
its all just thin skinned TDs and Armored cars, and one Slow AF Heavy assault tank that has no back up if it dies.(which will happen because the Tortoise is a 6.0 in a 6.7 Trench coat)
Actual skill issue. The Ratels kick ass despite mobility issues, charioteer is the same but has the mobility, G6 is a derp gun that works and tortoise is very much a 6.7 at 6.7, if it gets accurate armour its a 7.3.
not to mention the mk2 centurion which owns the battle even in uptiers
i got it for less than 30 so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I disagree with the gaijin market but that was a damn good investment just like the 5/1 cent a couple years ago.
Still counts to the mix of vehicles but with an asterisk.
If you play German 6.3, you are basically roleplaying as a Schwere Panzerjäger Abteilung. You get a Jagdpanther, a premium Jagdpanther and a Jagdpanzer 4-5. Everything else has to come from lower BRs, so - no turrets and no scout equipped vehicle without uptiering.
It’s fine. Not every nation needs to be crazy stacked at every single BR. Some day it might be, sure, but this isn’t a uniquely British thing and it’s no more consequential for them than it is for other nations.
You’re preaching to the choir on this one, were it up to me I would even relax standards a little to include more of these wonky RL designs that never went anywhere. It sure as hell beats having thirty five c&p Leopards/Shermans/T-34s/Chaffees.
Britain is one of the better filled out nations as most things have a reputable lineup to go with it. Only place i can say the tree lacks is in compeitive SPAA, there isnt a single “good” spaa until the falcon and the first SPAA thats actually good as an SPAA is at 8.7 with the rooikat. Im forced to take fighters for air defence when i want to be playing tanks in the tank mode.
