There are PLENTY of options, FV201 Chief among them for a heavy tank. It would basically be a canarveon with worse armor, and the turret and gun from the Centurion mk2 (WHICH IS 6.7!)
And they easily could get a M26 Pershing, as they got 12 Through lend Lease. Hell the one in the Tank Museum right this second is one of the 12 that they got.
Im normally not for Copy and paste in the British tree, But since yall are SO scared of Stabilizers, below 7.3 for some reason(only on British vehicles mind you), the Pershing is practically the ONLY option.
Personally another option for a 6.7 TECH TREE heavy tank (because im tired of the british only getting good tanks if they are Premiums or event vehicles, looking at you Cent mk2 and Mk5) Is a Upgraded Black Prince, Hull #3 had STARTED the process to convert over to a Meteor engine and Merritt Brown Gearbox when the plug was pulled on the entire Black Prince program. So taking the logic you applied to the Sevastapol, Genisenau, and Soyuz, it SHOULD come to the game. Call it “Black Prince MK2” or some crap. Just for the love of god give us SOMETHING at 6.7 that isn’t the Tortoise and thin skinned TDs.
Because the only 6.7s they have are the Tortoise, and two Thin skinned artillery vehicles, and two garbage armored cars…? Minus a SINLGE old event vehicle that is now like $170
They have nothing else? nearly every other tree has a bunch of 6.7 heavies, and atleast a single Medium.
Because 6.7 is one of the Big Brs…? where the Tiger 2s, the IS2s, and a bunch of the other late WW2 Vehicles live? And is one of the most Popular BRs in the game?
stabilisers are pretty strong, so they got put up pretty reasonably, them being at 6.7 was just a symptom of it being like 5 years ago and compression was just worse back then
i mean sure but it seems to me you just dont like light tanks as much as you like heavy tanks, because as somebody who has played italy, having pure light tank lineups is pretty normal and not really a problem
Personally? I understand the appeal of people suggesting the A45/FV201 as a heavy tank because it leads to the Caernarvon and the Conqueror, but it was always classified as a universal tank. Which would mean a medium in-game terms.
Same goes to the Caernarvon really. It shouldn’t be a heavy tank, it’s classified as a Medium Gun Tank and always considered an interim medium tank until the Conqueror was ready. That’s why the Conqueror is called “Tank, Heavy No. 1, 120 mm Gun”.
You could still put them in the heavy tank line, leading to the Conqueror. Just give them the correct classifications. So you could have something like:
A45 P1 (17-Pdr): 6.7 medium.
A45 P3 (20-Pdr): 7.0 medium, no APDS.
For the actual medium line you could have:
A41: 5.7 medium, modelled after A45 P11-16. Basically a worse Centurion Mk I.
A41A: 6.3 medium, early Centurion Mk II with no stabiliser and slightly lower rated engine.
Centurion Mk II (Meteor IV): 6.7 medium. The only difference between this and the Battle Pass version is the engine. This version only has 600hp.
Centurion (32-Pdr): 7.0 medium. Tortoise gun on a Centurion.
How do you feel about the Meteor Powered Black Prince? I know its technically paper, But i feel like at THIS point, it should be in the game, it would be a Bit of a pain to use, as the Black Prince’s saving grace is its slow speed making it easy to fire on the move.
Increasing the speed to the 21mph Estimated speed of the prototype they were converting to a Meteor, Would make it alot more unstable, and make it a bit harder to handle.
Prototype #3, which is the one that was being converted to a Meteor (From what i can find ateast) also was a lil Unique to the other Black Princes. As it has a Special hull pattern. It having a reinforced Side armor on the front near the tracks. It was only a extra 10mm or so of extra armor, but that would give it a bit of a edge when angling,
I mean, different nations are big at different BRs and that’s okay.
Germany has very little at 7.0 (unless you have the removed vehicles) and 7.3. One and two options respectively, the rest having to come from lower BRs to give you lineup depth. Then at 7.7 there are a few cool vehicles but it’s only really at 8.0 that you get a full lineup again.
Similarly 4.7 is a BR with pretty cool lineups, but Germany’s only option at 4.7 is the relatively rare Pak Puma.
None of this is an issue. I guess in an ideal world everyone would have a full lineup every 0.3 BR step, and at some point we’ll probably get there, but what’s the hurry?
It is yes, But Other tree’s have unique versions of tanks as both premium and Techtree.
Think of this as the inverse of the Tiger II H, and Tiger II SLA.16.
The paper tank with the Engine it never got would be the Techtree (Since NGL, the british sorely need it, and it would give them a reason to move the Normal BP down to like 5.7 while taking away its APDS which i would be ABSOLUTELY FINE WITH)
A Black Prince, with its APDS, and a 11mph Faster top speed would be entirely worthy of being 6.7.
