Every fox 3 is optimized for range. That’s no reason to gimp the amraams

Of course the AMRAAM is a bus. But in exchange it has the longest range, even more so in the C variant.
Range is irrelevant. MICA is the deadliest missile but it only has a range of 50km. I really don’t understand people who say range is important, do they really not know notch?. If you die from a missile at 30km+ it is 100% your fault not the missile.

no body is really firing at 50km even with c-5’s simply because the energy of those missiles will be gone by the time it makes it that far, you see way more shots at 35-40km because your jet has more speed or alt to give that missile range and it will have more energy for when trying to hit the target. which the mica can and certainly will hit. and most engagements happen within ACM mode limits or a few km outside where the mica excels at due to its fast acceleration and way better maneuverability and seeker.
if mica had its seeker nerfed to be just like every other fox3 then the missile would be fine and not considered a unfair missile.

We’re almost to 2026. But the number of people who don’t know what a notch is is really amazing, they actually die from missiles fired at 40-50km or more and then they say MICA is bad because it only has a range of 50km.

Besides the AI allegations, the AIM-120 series should be given their day-one performance back. At medium close ranges, they’re suboptimal missiles compared to literally ANY OTHER PEER SERIES (unless you give them tons of energy to pull instant Gs).

Well MICA does have poor range. I have scored 30km + shots with AMRAAM but never with Rafale’s MICAs, not even at 20km. So if your focus is range, then I think they could be considered bad.
AIM 120s should be made 35G and it would make everything so much better 40g if there generous

Not ideal is a more accurate term here, its not bad at it, especially with platforms that can get to Mach 1.5-1.8 if your not able to get 1 out of 2 micas to hit outside 20 kilometers you’re either the unluckiest person alive or just not great with Mica capable jets and that alright though most average players wont be able to score 20 kilometer plus mica kills but doesn’t mean the missile is specifically bad.
