Why does war thunder put bombers in non bomber games?

I never said it was impossible to do well in a bomber.

What I am saying is the odds in this game are stacked against them. Fighters climb faster, can outmaneuver them and and the bomber AI gunners are just awful (plenty of posts about that).

For Gaijin, bombers are just an afterthought - or more accurately - included in the game as sweet targets for fighters and attack aircraft like the mosquito and BF 1010-G4.

If that is the case, why do I get winrates of 62% with the same bomber you get 44% in. The odds are not stacked against my B-34, only against yours.

I flew it over 200 times. Any statistical analysis will come to the conclusion that our difference of win rates is not based on luck.

I mentioned B34 as ONE of the few bombers that can excel at that aspect.

For every B34 there are a LOT of bombers that don’t, and are there as fodder for the fighters to shoot down.

And win-rates are TEAM based - apples to oranges.

I wish it were easier to corral some fighters into being escorts at least…

Every mode has certain vehicles that are rubbish in it - it is a non-argument

Is that true, though? Not to disagree, but out of genuine curiosity, is that true?
I wouldn’t say it’s true in Ground battles, personally, but I haven’t passed Rank III in any tree yet, air or ground (and out of those, I’ve only done US and Sweden so far.)

Err,… yes it’s true - some vehicles appear fine on paper but jsut don’t seem to “work”

Oh, I was just thinking it was a skill issue kind of thing - they’re just “harder” tanks to know, and they have a tighter niche to understand (at least in theory.)

Feel free to compare your bombers stats with mine in general. With your logic, the odds are stacked against the bombers when you fly them but oddly not if I fly them. And the same seems to hold for teams too. Even if we reach tripple digit sample sizes. So likely it isn’t a problem of the bombers.

Arcade has free reload. That changes the combat performance of some planes, as you need not worry about limited ammo so much and have increased bombing ability with attackers and bombers.
Arcade has increased engine performance. That helps some planes which would be bricks otherwise.
And so on.

yeah, there are definitely “non bomber” games. With a “team”. And just look at this G8N1 AI gunners, more than median playerbase air KD lmao.

Well free reloads don’t help if you get shot down.

On many of the bombers we have in common our death ratio per battle is quite similar, and on some of them your ratio is worse.

And I’m not part of a clan so I’m always playing with random teams.
You have any aced crews? Might have a wee bit of impact on results… no?

mine weren’t also at some point in time, it doesn’t make AI gunners “awful”, they are pretty descent even without aces, just experts and full crew, not so big

Guess I was confused by the wording in your post - it seemed you were referring to my crew.

Anyway, I gave up on air battles because matchmaker kept shoving me into modes I had no interest in - domination and capture. If they let me just select ground-pounding I might have continued.

But they help to avoid the “if”.

Yes, but I win way more often and I usually earn way more RP per mission. Can’t compare SL. But winning increases SL income by far.

I only collect squad vehicles, so the same applies here.

Most of my better bombers ace quickly. Some are even aced on multiple crews. Nothing earns RP as fast in arcade as good bombing does. I never pay for ace crews.

Oh yes, I compare successful bombing to unsuccessful bombing.

This usually happens if you load a lineup with bombers or quit those unliked maps. Create a lineup with only one bomber and 4 fighters and don’t quit the map. Eventually you will get regular map rotation.

I guess I meant modes that inordinately help one or a few individual vehicles in particular.
Like, say, if Air RB was inordinately more friendly to bombers of a certain BR, or if, say the ISU-152 did weirdly well in Arcade.

You would first have to specify, in what way friendly. Wins, RP, SL K/D etc.

Hm, that is a good question, because we’d also have to find a way to separate them being “better” because of the player, instead of the vehicle…

I play only solo and you can see ~80% winrate on my bombers, but for that you have to play fighters as well. But from what I see people who dedicated to groundstomping only usually have near 60%. Even dominations, more than half of maps have objectives that matter

Anyway arcade I think is the only mode where this poor class is still pretty viable
