We’re only allowed to chat once every 15 seconds or so, so I have to save it in case I need to say something important to the team.
The silence and the non-usage of the chat, has nothing to do with the chat spam timer.
I just explained why I am not using the chat much because of the chat spam timer. How would you know my motivations and habits better than me? I thought you wanted an answer to the question from the players. If you’re looking for someone who can speak for the community as a whole, don’t bother, because we don’t elect a representative body here.
But if you don’t even use it, it’s not the spam timer that’s stopping you… You may want to put out that that’s why you don’t, but it truly isn’t… Especially if you don’t actually use it at all…
Part of the reason the built in chat messages aren’t used as much anymore is the new “air alert” and “need air recon” take up 2 whole slots on the radial wheel for game chat, reducing quick messages from 4 to 2.
They’re talking of actual chat.
Considering I would only use chat to talk about the game a timer seems ridiculous.I turned chat off after a couple of months.Nothing but spam, racism and armchair generals with no kills swearing at the team.
Doctor I don’t know why you’re here man the point of forums is to hear what other people have to say, not to try and gaslight people into believing things they never believed from the beginning. If you don’t like what I said that’s fine but don’t talk to me like an abusive partner trying to claim we’re all avoiding chat because we collectively dislike you or something.
And this, is why the chat goes silent…
Let it go silent,it’s of no use.
That shows your prejudice…
Sorry, but if you’re trying to say that others can say things, then in the same ilk I am able to do the same…
Those who are upset with this, I commonly get into debates and discussions with, where THEY won’t accept the opposing argument.
But the reality is if you haven’t ACTUALLY used the actual chat in matches in the past 20-30 matches, to do anything but a single line, then I far outweigh you in genuine usage…
Just saying.
Brother, you need help this is not that deep.
If this is true, then the spam timer isn’t your reason for not using chat.
Just saying.
No in-game global voice chat, lack of in-game translator making communications almost impossible.
True. Sometimes I doubt that they even read what is in the chat or understand it …
I remember people used to go GLHF in the beginning of every round, now it seems more sarcastic than anything.
Doesn’t surprise me to be honest.
Its a bit hard for me to type on the keyboard while my VR headset is on - i cannot talk this way ;-)
I agree, would be very good if some tanks of planes are flanking you could advise your team other than pinging on the map
If you fellows live long enough, you’ll realize any attempt to call attention to one’s chivalry or goodness that is against the norm is generally just performative at it’s core. It’s the reason we don’t hold doors open for women anymore.
In a game where saying “hi” IS the norm, it’s rude not to. I play other online games (like FFXIV) where people think you’re weird if you don’t say hi. That’s the norm in that game, so there I follow it. WT is the opposite.
I always say hi to people I know in WT in chat, comment on cool vehicles or camoes, sometimes crack a joke about a game name. But trying to convince me to be the one person who says “gl”… yeah, people doing that are either socially challenged or are just being transparently phony, like the stranger saying hi to everyone on a bus or standing at the slot machine next to you. Sorry.
It’s like when people tried to say spamming “attack the D point” at the start of a game was the “War Thunder way” of saying “glhf.” It wasn’t, it was just people taking the p*ss, and it’s so old.
I take it as everyone grunting and being ready to go…
Defend is to play defensively, attack is to give it to them directly…
