multipath height is around 150FT or a lil lower depending on angle of the missile
WHY are these trees 150FT tall like there taller than most of the buildings on the map there way to tall its not on all maps but it makes multipathing properly impossible so planes that have zero chaff die please change this its really bad for stock planes
I think the biggest trees are the palm and pine trees, the biggest ones are almost 50 meters high. Does WT take place in the Mesozoic period?
I think it comes from the olden days where War Thunder only had WW2 era air combat.
The trees were made taller (and really even some of the buildings are a little large) so that you can see them better from the sky. A number of older flight sims did this “enlargement” too.
But like most things in War Thunder, adding new premiums brings in money, updating the trees does not. Unlikely the massive trees will ever change.
I think they used to be taller. When they moved multipath down to 60 meters, I remember hearing how the trees would be above that height. IIRC, they could be up to 80 meters tall
I’ve noticed for a while now that the Trees in this game are inconsistently colossal in Air Battles.
Back when the multipath height had just been reduced, they did some tree trimming on “Rocky Canyon, Mysterious Valley, Rocky Pillars, Rice Terraces, Guiana Highlands, Golan Heights, Zhengzhou, Aleutian Islands and South Africa”.
Guess they missed a few.
Gaijin thinks every tree is a California Redwood, those things get up to between 200 to 330ft tall, with the tallest recorded at 380ft!
Someone should make a bug report
You think this will ever get fixed? Ruins multipathing for top tier.
hope so its almost immpossible to stock grind we need flatter maps
new maps dont get trimming trees need to be below 80ft atleast or just raise multipath just a bit as its very hard in stock jets even with chaff you cant BVR due to lack of missiles
I would say we need more maps with proper hills, you can still get killed while multi pathing from high angle shots or splash damaged by the missile hitting the ground. Actually being able to use mountains as hard cover is the best bet. Problem is most maps are too flat to actually use terrain for cover, but just bumpy enough that you keep dropping out of multi path thanks to all the tiny valleys, it’s the worst of both.
we need a flat map with a with a few 500ft mountains but otherwise flat
Now mix giant trees with clouds at surface level…
