Why do so many people hate SPAAG

With a low skill crew when people are first introduced to SPAA - there’s a significant difference.

You can track a tank without having to adjust vertical guidance on your cannon, so vertical and horizontal moving in sequence rather than concurrently allows you to deal with light tanks and armoured cars whizzing across a flat plain or even hilly terrain without much difficulty.

Whereas, if the plane is within effective range for early SPAA guns, it will be moving in such a way that you need to track your guns diagonally to lead them which will be noticably painful to do.

And simply turret traverse is much more impactful as well. Either from targetting skill or using stock vs spaded vehicle.

First impressions matter a lot, and even if these challenges fade away after getting ~3 or so targetting, you will be averse to playing SPAA again as you recall how clunky its controls were. It also doesn’t help that you had to get crew XP by putting a non-SPAA tank into that crew slot unless the nation/BR you have SPAA access can function decently as a tank destroyer.

All changes with practice, that’s how it always comes to be.

Avoiding it makes you unable to use it because the choice you made to assume you couldn’t makes it clear you won’t.

The problem remains that you need fairly high crew skills for aiming to work normally, which is a significant handicap at equal player skill.

Mate you’re having a hissy fit with a guy, who knows how to irritate people with very unpopular opinions. Then get mad when others tell you to drop it cause it’s a waste of breath, off-topic, and causing a bunch of problems that didn’t exist prior and creating a very unhealthy toxic echo chamber. So I don’t know if I’m so-called doing a “throwout”. For pointing out the hipocracy of what actions.

Crew skills aren’t everything, and they can be improved.

That’s just your opinion about what transpired, much the same as you mentioning that it’s all the time…

How prejudiced can you be. Stop bloating the topic and derailing it.

Am I not allowed to defnd myself, and am I not allowed to point out that my point has no bearing on what they’re trying to put forth?

There’s nothing echochamber about this situation, it’s all about your ignoring of what’s being said in effort to make accusations.

That isn’t always an option unless you want to die to opposing enemy tanks much more easily

You don’t need to head on into battle, you can move laterally.

Just don’t be sitting where everyone is actually spawning. You can literally be in the trees or next to the hills that surround the spawn.

Some people will tell imaginary things in order to protect the kind of gameplay they like, glad we can look at their profile and see how things really are.

The best solution against air is and always was the air. SPAA in most cases are not effective enough.

A number of reasons - but from my perspective it’s before radar…

  1. SPAA is hard to mod up in assault - almost always at bottom of scoring unless you play the anti-tank vehicle disguised as spaa (ZSU-57-2). So they often are lucky to go into battles P v P with just the parts module

  2. Many of them are terrible for capping, so it removes one way of scoring right off the bat. Sure a number of them are ok for it, but the lack of armor, or slow speed like the german rank III and IV vehicles, but most cases it would be foolish to head into enemy fire

  3. In realistic, the CAS just moves too fast and is quite hard to spot. Scoring there with SPAA is sparse.

  4. some tech trees just have poor selection for the rank - example is USA. They get the M42 at start of rank III, then NOTHING at all in rank V. Once I hit BR 6+ I stopped using spaa because it can’t handle rank V enemies. The 120 rnds/minute is awful. It’s more useful against ground vehicles than air.

Finally got the LAV-AD .At first I was struggling, but once I got the FIM-92K, I was able to down more CAS a bit easier. What is the difference between the FIM-92E and the K?? Tried searching in the Forum but its a lot to search and read soo rather ask.

K have proximity fuse, E - doesn’t

As far as WT is concerned, the 92K gets a proximity fuse while the E has an impact one. IRL there’s more differences but they’re either not added or not relevant.

@womp womp uwu @PercussionCap Ahhh Ty! This explains a lot as of why it feels better to use.

Let me reclarify my earlier statement about the more cover in spawn comment as that was directed more at high tier where it’s extremely common in a lot maps for you to get blown up in the spawn area before you can even move due to the spawn area and the area around it having absolutely no cover against them and moving with your team though possible is a lot more dangerous. Moving laterally near spawn doesn’t do anything if you still lack cover.

Lower tier still has it’s own problems as only CAP is really truly a counter and the barrier for skill to be effective isn’t as high

Very good map for SPAAs too.

Are scouting drones still counted as air kills? I have seen that happening once and it surprised me.

pretty sure it does.

This is such a long sentence adding in so much junk that its sole reason is to make it difficult to even mention a single point because of everything else you’ve brought in to gatekeep, and to make issues to fortify your desired stance.

I’m sorry you can’t accept another angle, but that isn’t my issue.

Doesn’t matter how much cover you lack, the spawn area, being populated in the first place makes it a target. When you’re an SPAA firing from that position, or like so many do, fire on spawn of thier MGs or main cannons, they highlight that spawn.

Resulting in a situation that people who do spawn, and are just spawning, get hit due to their teammates erratic choices.

I said nothing at all about moving with your team, and thus I don’t think you truely know what latterally means.

The comment was made to highlight that you being a beacon on spawn, is a direct way of getting your team killed.

That’s just spoonfed nonsense, as there isn’t just one way to play the game, and it’s ignorance to claim it’s fact.

The fun part of playing SPAA is making CAS players cry when they get shut down XD

The fact they’ve gone so far as to statcheck you, shows what kind of player they truly are.
