Why do CAS players so vocally oppose any suggestions

Sure, just proof that CAS is only good when used by skilled people and that CAS isn’t defacto “low skill”

People are frustrated, rightfully so. CAS is overpowered in a PvP game, realistic or not (this game is not realistic, I fix my entire gun barrel and engien in 20 seconds) it needs balance.

Essentials:

Different BR for Aircraft in GRB than in ARB. Balance for CAS fairness.
Removal of all 1000lbs+ 500KG+ bombs and the S-250 rocket from Su-25. All of the weapons with enormous blast radius that requre essentially no precision to get kills. They should use guided missiles (takes some effort), or small rocekts (again, effort). Dying to a 3000LBS bomb that hit “the general area” around my IFV/Light tank or even MBT at close distance, is tireseom and unfair. C

I do not want a ground only mode. I like the airborne threat vector as I enjoy SPAA gameplay. But as it stands, Ground Pounders are ruining GRB and the “meta” high yield bombs and Su-25/S-250 spam is intolerable now.

Also, Attack Drones gotta go. There is zero gameplay behind those. it’s literally spawn, left click, free kills. Or spawn, left click, die to pantsir/Roland/whatever. it’s too slow to dodge, it’s too big to hide, it has zero fundamental gameplay behind it and dying to one is frustrating as a “tryhard” can be rewarded with more free kills, ultimately getting his 10+ kill streak with 80% activity in a plane, getting a nuke and winning Ground Battles single-handedly without touching an MBT.

Some CAS players fly with A LOT of skill and they dominate SPAA/Pantsir-S1 etc. Those pilots put effort into their kills and I am generally OK with that. They fly low, fast and under my radar. This is fine. That is gameplay and it’s cool to see the jets come low.

Orbital Strikes with Paveways, Su-25 with 8 250 rockets and ATGM drones need to be removed from GRB entirely. Lets be reasonable. 3000LBS+ bombs on F-111 that can kill 4-5 players without even needing to hit them at all, is not a skilled attack. Many times, I see the pilot nose dive into the nearest tree 3 femtoseconds after dropping his 3000LBS bomb and getting 5-6+ kills. he then spawns another plane and deletes the rest of the team without touching a tank.

I want planes in GRB. I am not a fan of tank-only. But GRB needs GRB-Specific balance for BRs/some weapons gotta be removed to balance it out.

There is no middle ground. Today I unlocked Pantsir and in my first match I get 5 kills. 2 jets, 2 drones and a heli. I literally left click and move mouse and they die. This takes very little skill - Pantsir seems OP yet the aircraft that died to me, they did not bother avoiding my radar, they did not bother prioritising me, they flew high and straight and they deserved to die to low skill gameplay because they were doing low skill gameplay.

Now, that F-16C who obliterates me with a laser guided bomb after avoiding my radar (vertical) and guiding it to precision (hits me directly) he deserves that power. That is effort.

I am absolutely sick of zero-effort gameplay from CAS “abusers” that are turning GRB into a low-skill bomb fest.

All bombs with yield over 250KG need to be removed from GRB. S-250 needs to be removed. This rocket is a meta-joke. Su-25K is literally pay for free kills. I’m a russian main, it still bothers me when I try other nations.

Yes but he got 5 or 6 kills ,that is like complaining about a player who scored five or six goals in a football match, the aim to get the highest score and you will see most players boasting about how high their score is, how good their stats are compared to yours are and how they win tournaments with such tactics so what is the issue?

So what does the Tornado Gr1 use? It’s smallest bomb is a 1000lb. It’s not the only one

Honestly, this is not their fault. The SP cost for unguided bombs Is the same as GBUs. I have 0 incentive to ever spawn in with unguided bombs and do the “fly low under the radar and use unguided bombs”. There are buffs coming for a few CAS in coming months, like the Tornados finally hopefully getting their full CM count, which will help, but it’s usually a hell of a lot more dangerous, significantly harder to get any kills and costs the same amount.

If those loadouts (unguided) were notably cheaper, I’d use them all time, I find orbital bombing a bit boring, but that is what I have to do currently in the tornado.

I also agree with the Su25 rockets, though removal is unfair, just a notable SP increase will do. If you look back at the first reply to this thread. I link a post in another thread. On it I talk about some changes to CAS. Several of which are the same as your suggestions. Things like the 3k bombs or large yield rockets could be and should be adjusted up, and I do talk about on a case by case basis SP cost being refined, but it shouldnt be a blanket increase to all CAS like they normally do.

For the record. I agree, I think CAS does need some rebalancing. Some aspects are overperforming. But not all. In fact some I genuinely think are actually underperforming and need an SP reduction. And I am more the willing to work on solutions and compromises for those changes. To make GRB a more balanced combined arms gamemode. But I just hate being called “Toxic” or “abuser” for wanting to use aircraft in GRB. and that is my main objection.

The problem is no matter what changes You are going to implement or what balancing factors, the unbalance between grond and air will remain as it is caused by vechicle characteristics.

Even if it’s long time ago, it demonstrated that some Tanks would be impossible to balance,… due to so hard armor that the BR would be 2.0 higher than current gun efficiency

The problem is MUCH more deeper than many thing it is,…
Gaijin don’t want to go there, therefore will never have that TO mode many asks (not me, but i’m not blind either), because Gaijin is unwilling to do this.

Like?. Why dont they just put all these CAS threads into 1 with a sticky explaining the situation, would save a lot of anguish

I would love to see some active moderation on these topics and the enforcement of common forum rules, but even though they are getting tagged a lot you can rarely spot a moderator in any of these dumpster fires

I know moderation is happening, some of mine have and i can guess who is stalking me reporting, flagging etc. There are those who smile to your face
