well, i used to tbh ^^’ (ah good old times). Not “it deletes you the moment you spawn” levels of scared, but it was still a pain to deal with it while carrying laser guided stuff only, at least against a competent player.
I never found that an issue in on itself, because i always thought “ground battles should be decided on the ground”, my main issue was that gaijin waited too much to add an equivalent elsewhere imo.
Now with the new GPS pointer, new IR weaponry and CAS getting longer range weapons, pantsir is also getting obsolete (i’m more afraid of the clouds + mountain combo or enemy air patrol than pantsir in a Rafale for example). Gaijin seems to think the same, so hopefully we get some juicy SAMs soon

I think we are going to get juicy SAMs, but juicy for shooting down ordnance.
If we get ARH slingers that fire similarly performing missiles that we currently have for aircraft, I think their effective range won’t be much higher than 10km, as even air-launched ARHs can be dodged at those distances.
Yeah maybe at first at least.
There are SAMs which are basically vertical fox3s found on aircraft (100-200 kg missiles with 10-20 km effective range), as you said
Heavier systems usually carry some nasty sticks however (400kg - 1T) with up to 50-100km and even more effective range. Time will tell if those will be necessary i suppose.
They really need to make a reward for shooting down ordnance now that i think of it
That’s why I was thinking they’ll bring ARH slingers as that’s a mechanic we already have in the game.
I think anything with 50-100km of range is too much at the moment, both air and ground included.
Rewards for shooting down ordnance is something we must get with those new AAs, as realistically speaking you’ll get most of your score that way.

They already fixed the flying tank thing but only partially, still happen but extremely rarely now as it used to do it every game and I’ve only seen it in 1 out of 30 matches now, I know because I’ve played it like every day. The only thing they overlooked is the late spawn where tank sit on top of each other, so sometimes shooting at them resulting in one bullet killing 10 tanks lol

I feel this, is a common ‘excuse’ people find to make issue.

Have seen it multiple times this week, and I don’t play assault all that often.
0 flying tank in 10 games for me today, compared to 9/10 when the update introduced this bug. But I only play 8.3+, which br you play btw?
I have had more assault game than that and now I even starting to miss them because it was a funny bug, at least the AI tank spawned in the same spot and getting kill in one bullet is beneficial to the player, bugs like this can stay!

Not every battle, but have seen some today (had to chase the wayward bot with a bomber) and some previous few days.
Considering the fact that people are having issues with packetloss and desync currently, who’d have thought that what I said could be applicable.

There are several solutions to this problem:
Remove aircraft from ground completely
This would essentially create a ground only mode but unfortunately render SPAA useless.
Create a separate ground only mode
Creates a mode for players who don’t want to worry about CAS killing them from across the galaxy. This would solve the dilemma of the previous solution.
Decrease the rewards that players get for killing ground targets in aircraft and increase the points for killing other aircraft
Players would be incentivized to kill other aircraft rather than targeting ground players
Decrease the amount of spawn points that players lose when dying to CAS
This would give players another chance to spawn instead of them being sent to the hangar unfairly. Dying to CAS right outside of your spawn would not cause you to lose all of your spawn points.
Make air realistic Enduring confrontation mode
CAS players would have little to no reason to use CAS in ground if they could grind their aircraft in a realistic EC. This wouldn’t completely solve the issue, but it would greatly decrease the amount of players CAS spamming in ground modes. It’s almost impossible to grind strike or CAS aircraft in air realistic which is why some players will turn to ground realistic instead.
This should not apply to strike/bomber aircraft like F-111, F-15E, A-10, A-6, A-7, some Tornadoes, and most Harriers
