Helicopters are air vehicles, obviously, but somehow tanls, ground vehicles, have to get the burden of researching them?
I went over this before as well, as I don’t believe this made sense, and I still don’t think it makes sense and we never did get a good answer to it.
Seemingly they gave up on helicopters and just decided to ditch the whole heli mode completely, but in the process felt like dumping everything onto what is already the worst grind in the game, as ground is horribly balanced and infinitely worse than air.
This is all the progress I made in like 10 hours of miserable PvE mode in a helicopter with nothing but 14x mighty mouse rockets and not even a ballistic computer, expected to grind 380k RP with it it.
Why does an 8.7 vehicle have the same RP requirement as a top tier vehicle btw?
If you’re not going to add a playable helicopter mode, then remove the restrictions from researching helicopters and let people do it with ground AND air because again
Sadly, I think the helicopter grind is just deliberately as excruciating as possible by design. You earn way more RP in ARB than you do in GRB, so that’s probably why it’s not allowed. They want you to buy the premium Heli. They want you to convert GE/RP to skip the stinkers.
Heli PVP had good rewards but was mentally torturous to play due to Vikhrs dominance.
Heli PVE has terrible rewards, and instead of being dominated by Vikhrs, you’re dominated by boredom lol.
And ground RB… we all know how terrible the RP gain : Time played ratio is.
(I am not even going to discuss the abomination that arcade assault is rewards wise)
There’s just no enjoyable or efficient way to grind them. I did RU/UK tree in PVP days and hated every second of it. I did ISR tree in PVE days, and basically spent 50+ hours bored out of my mind, brain rot binge watching series on the other monitor.
Getting top tier Heli’s is nothing more than a mental fortitude test.
You mean in the brief period where they were actually playable before premium vehicles, as always, ruined it and now you couldn’t take off without a Ka -50 nuking you at the heli pad whilst you only had 14 mighty mouse rockets to fight a Ka-50 10km away?
I think it has to be a “temporary” turned permanent solution. I don’t think I have ever seen a mode in the history of games that is dead, boring and terrible to play as Heli pve. It’s just a lazy fix. If they make a working Heli mode they can remove the research Heli with tanks option.
Really depends on the quality / quantity of SPAA you face. You hard counter tanks, but SAM’s hard counter you in return.
Typically there’s multiple Pantsirs present at the latter end of battles, and unless you’re in a Heli with F&F missiles, it’s extremely difficult to operate in that environment.
I don’t think they are ever fun, the lower tier ones have more potential to be fun by actually having to engage at close range but autocannon spam kinda destroys them instantly, especially since they combined avionics to the entire hull for god knows what reason.
Helicopters are just going to hover 5km+ outside of the battlefield and spam missiles and you hope you play a nation that has an SPAA actually capable of dealing with that.
After 11d of Heli PvE finally used to this gamemode, still infuriating to be caught up by random spawned Gepard despite you precalculated all such probabilities…
PvE+premium+knowledge of PvE reward system allows you to farm 2.3+K RP every 10 min. It is not that bad if you spading only 1-2 TTs, pretty copable. Devs won’t make grind any more interesting/better.
But you still gonna need premium/talismane ground vehicle for certain nations (like Italy)
