Again, false. Go to the matchmaker and see it for yourself there are 16 urban CQC maps in total, all of which are available in top tier rotation, that is 30% of the game’s map.
Also Flanders is just extremely laughable lmao, everyone’s funneled into CQC! One near the crash site and trenches, another in the train cargo area and the hippodrome. No variety btw.
How is this map available in top tier? It should be 8.0, max.
Flanders is 1.8x1.8km, that is far above CQC. It’s a perfect mid-range top BR map.
1.8km is the extreme range of WW2 tanks mind you.
It’s mid-range to modern tanks.
Just cause 2A7V is superior to T-90M doesn’t mean T-90M isn’t a similar performing platform.
Sure the T-90M can’t pen as well, or go as fast, but it doesn’t matter cause it has equivalent armor.
Hell no. It is by far the best map ingame, and it’s great even at 9.3. It’s only CQC because the players make it CQC. High tier should not just be long range. (long range also sucks for stock tanks, but that’s a whole other issue).
As we all know.
Its becoming World Of Tanks:Warthunder
No doubt about that.
But ironically.Even WOT has big maps :)
Cant stop to think whether Gaijin really play this game
I think it has something to do with where the maps can be implemented. Map releases in War Thunder are painfully slow as it is, so to take the time to make maps that are only playable at the Top Tiers would mean that there would be less variety at the lower tiers.
Another factor is the player-base. War Thunder is extremely popular, and the popularity is in large part due to how the developers appear to be trying to get the same success that bigger brands have gotten like Call of Duty by appealing to their player-bases. Many CoD players in this community cannot fathom a long range map at 11.7 that doesn’t involve spawn-sniping, but they have little imagination.
I don’t buy the staff argument that “War Thunder isn’t a sniping game,” because for most of War Thunder’s history it has been a sniping game at the lower tiers, even though those same maps become brawling maps at the higher tiers because the vehicles get faster and better. However, as modern ground forces are a more recent addition and come later in the grind, it would make sense that newer maps oriented towards top-tier play would expand proportionally to the capabilities of the vehicles. But they don’t, and as a result the maps that felt big at 4.7 feel very condensed at 11.7.
