I mean the major reason teams evaporate is due to premium players. Maps can also play a role if its an awful one but most maps in game are fine.
That’s not what I meant when I said nobody cares. When I said it it was in reference to how reviving old threads and adding nothing the conversation is detrimental. Nobody cares if all you say is map bad on a bajillion posts.
Its considered rude and childish to spam threads. I get you feel strongly about this but going about in this particular manner is not ok.
Uh yeah actually. I think that pure cqc maps should be removed. They are unfit for top tier. Modern tanks are as you previously stated, built for long range engagements however driving for long open distances can be very annoying. That’s about it besides individual map gripes.
I think you misunderstand a bit. What I meant by annoying is the general lack of cover larger maps give meaning the playstyle on larger maps can be very linear with almost designated paths if you don’t want to get shot and die.
I personally don’t think its that easy. European province is still quite linear. Many routes are simply invalidated with the ability to snipe across the river with thermals and laser rangefinders. The only real change for eurpoean province is that now you can’t be spawn killed as easily.
You can find paths with full cover that get you down in to the valley safely and are then able to outflank the enemy. The edges of the map as well generally slope down giving you full cover.
You can’t snipe from side to side unless the other guy is exposing himself trying to do the same, not that you can’t catch players out but there’s covered paths they can take to prevent that.
I mean that was what the map was like before though. Stick to the sides, flank or go into the village. All that really changed was that you can’t be spawn sniped.
A larger map done well imo is the winter fields of poland. The snow drifts provide enough cover to have many medium range routes, with cqc in the middle, and long range sniping on the outskirts.
Where are you even coming from? Most people want larger maps for top tier, maps like Tunisia, Fulda Gap and Maginot Line are examples of good large maps, that have CQC and long range. Not even SB is safe from the cancer that is small maps.
The worst thing Gaijin could do is please the competitive scene (tryhards and sweats who want CQC madness 24/7) it’s tank game, not CS:GO.
And we are already suffering from it because Gaijin is OBSESSED with accessibility by dumbing down the game and maps.
To comply with a so called “high desire” from players to have small maps. Most of good old maps like Fulda, Normandy, Poland, (among others) have been methodicaly destroyed by dev team without any valid explaination.
Flanders’s gimmick was that it would change in appearance based on the BR which should’ve increased its size, no? Red Desert, Pradesh, maybe but these are maps which you rarely ever see because players game the matchmaker and dislike/ban these maps.
The amount of CQC and small maps it’s just too overwhelming for top tier IMO, it can get repetitive and stale after a while. I like what Gaijin did to Carpathians and the fact that they put the sim version of Tunisia in RB rotation and removed a few legacy maps like Port Novo and Stalingrad, so I like to think that they are aware of the maps being too small.
There are barely any, and there’s really only one for top BR: Advance to the Rhine.
Flanders is a big map BTW.
All the small maps stop at 6.7 or 7.7.
Port Novo isn’t removed BTW.
