Why am I locked out of spawning via the crew lock for hitting a tree?

I hit a tree trying to doge a missile. Thats my fault, but I shouldn’t be punished with the timer. I was playing, I lost. It’s not like I hit J to deny the dude a kill. This is silly and inappropriate.
