Just browsing the forums today and it seems like every thread that has been critical of Gaijian today is either hidden (“This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.”), locked, or has been removed after all the comments have been deleted. I was trying to respond to a topic and saw ~15 comments get deleted one-by-one, then the post was locked, then the post disappeared completely. Didn’t seem rule breaking and there wasn’t any fighting in the comments. It was just someone respectfully airing their grievances as a long time player.
I’ve had the same thing happen to one of my posts in the past. I watched helplessly as a mod deleted the entire convo, locked the thread, and then set it to hidden so nobody could read it without any warning.
It’s bad enough that there’s a small minority of users on this forum seek out anyone complaining to attempt to upset & insult them, report their posts, and viciously defend the game. Why do you have to scrub conversations from the internet? To protect the bad actors while punishing players experiencing problems? Because typically when your post gets hidden, the “system” also locks your account from being able to use the forum for several days.
I have a feeling the small minority of users I speak of are fast asleep. But I imagine I’ll wake up with a PM from system about how my post has been flagged and my account is unable to participate until a staff member can take a look at my most recent submissions.
You know, you can actually be critical of gaijin as long as you keep it civil.
Most recent example i can think of here, this thread is still going:
Because, and lets be to totally fair, most of these “posts critical of gaijin” are written by not exactly smart people, and most of them look and sound like as if some 12 year old that just blew their entire birthday gift on vehicle they have no idea how to play and got shrekt in seconds and they just wanna complain.
Is there a way to view the (“This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.”) posts?
Or are they forever gone? I am rather new to the forums and always wonder what the people have said, i am sure most of the time it was a funny rant or maybe to many swear words?
I think what also plays a role is that some topics get repeated all the time: One sees a lot of topics created that are already discussed at length somewhere else, and those keep popping up again and again.
Flagging by other participants as they don’t like the content
Imho outside real interesting stuff (which usually vanishes within minutes) most of the hidden content is just garbage.
In case you are in line with the Forum rules and your post gets flagged (=example #2): Use edit function to restore it; after the 2nd flag a Forum mod or CM will check it - and remove the flag rather quickly.
Let me guess, you did not even read the rules, right?
Because your thread also break them.
3.8. It is not allowed to discuss threads closed by the Administration or Website Managers or any Users’ posts deleted by them, challenge or discuss corresponding actions of Administration, Moderators (and/or Global Moderators), Community Managers, Coordinators, and Game Masters in any form.
There are plenty of threads and posts criticizing War Thunder. As other guys already told you, it’s not an issue.
The issue starts when some special ones decided to cross the line. They think our forum is some kind of sewer that they can walk into like a house and start insulting everything and everyone without any thought. We have rules on the forum and those rules should be followed.
