Not really. There are a lot of reasons to leave after 1 death.
Unless those are addressed, you’re assigning blame to the wrong party.

Radio Messages are mostly useless. You cannot use them to describe situation precisely, like there are 2 tanks one have damaged gun breach but other is ok. Chat Spamming is simple as it is, you have a huge timeout between messages so you either have to put it in one message which is stupid. You want to put some important info first and than add more detailed info.
It is simple, stock vehicles are more or less handicap to team. At higher tiers stock MBTs are just SP pinatas for enemy team. You have less mobile tank and your firepower is next to useless (especially with HEAT-FS and on bigger maps without LRF). You cannot help team mates with repairs and when you get damaged you have to wait for someone to help you repair or you have to get into cap which is not easy task for damaged stock tank. So stock tanks have negative impact on team performace. Crew Skills are same. People who use gun spaa and does not have maxed targeting are basically completely useless against CAS as they cannot track planes effectively. These aspects reduces or negates your team input.
That is why community choose to decrease reward for winning and increase reward for loosing in past. If Gaijin wanted to be more team focused on victories this stupid change would never be offered.
Once your game is build around grind players will focus on grind. Their main goal will always be personal performance as they want to make grind faster. You can see this with premiums. Gaijin pushes them and does not care what impact it will have on gameplay.
There were more easier ways to get assist and it was cut out. Remember getting kill assists by machine gunning tanks as form of spotting, now you get nothing from that so why bother. People rather wait for opportunity to kill tank by themself and do not care he can kill your team mates.
Have you ever played battlefield? More people on cap there also reduces the time to capture point, but you do not get lower reward. Also waiting for team mates to cap in more people is actually good as all people receive more SP then. I remember when at start of game people actually waited for other players to reach first cap point in order to maximize SP. Now everyone rushing there to cap is as soon as possible to secure biggest chunk of reward. I also do not remember the part of pushing team mates out of cap zones.
I do not have problem with team play as I do not care about it in this game, because I know that combination of MM base matches with lack of options build around grind will always result in miserable team play experience. I will play one tank lineup until me or game die. I play for fun and I have my fun. Does it affect other players? Yes. Do I care? No. It is not my job to make environment where everyone is happy. That is on gaijin. I will always play by rules set by Gaijin and right now I am not breaking any.
Time is far more valuable than money.
Main reason for me: Maps I don’t like.
Main reason for me: Losing all hopes to the teammates
I ain’t reading this topic because 1 death leavers make me sick. But just want to say that once again, the new event vehicle is unusable until the 1 death leavers either get themselves a line-up or get frustrated and stop using it. Sad really. Each event vehicle takes a month or so before it becomes usable.
If you want it to change. You should read it, understand the issues and advocate for fixes to those issues.
I’ve seen the excuses one death leavers go on about, but at the end of the day: it’s a ‘you’ issue. You’re the problem, like all one-death-leavers. Gaijin is just your excuse for your toxic behavior. Edit: I just read that you one death leave on city maps as UK - what? they have vehicles at all BR that absolutely rip it up on city maps. Even uptiering Falcon and ZA-35 to top-tier makes city maps fun at top-tier, let alone their own tier. Also, not being able to reload SPAA? go to a cap… stop sitting in spawn. Jesus, i thought you had some actual valid points.
It’s gaijins fault that players will leave after one death. Gaijin needs to make it worth it to stay in the match, and keep fighting. They also need to design better maps and create a better and more balanced game.
Then why are you here crying about one death leavers 🤣
Because you’re not happy. But you don’t want to address the problems, you just want them to play the way you feel they should….
I can’t address the problem (removing you from the game permanently).
Poor balance is one of the reasons why people 1DL. I don’t want to be facing 8.3/8.7 tanks with stabilizers, APFSDS, or tough armour in my Lorraine 40t, so I will leave after 1 death. I am also not rewarded for staying in a losing match, where my team is getting spawncamped.
Most maps in game are just mediocre at best, with only a few that I would consider good.
Removing me permanently wouldn’t fix the issue you have. Infact it would kill the game you proclaim you love so much……
You’ve just listed one way to reap good rewards at the expense of winning the round. Being spawn camped is often an easy way to turn a 1-2 kill game into a 5-6 kill game, and with the economy changes, you swim in the SL regardless of whether you go down fighting when being spawn camped. The enemy often gets cocky and drives through your spawn, giving you plentiful time to kill them while you have spawn protection. There’s actually no reason not to spawn for some easy kills in those situations. It’s still not a good situation to be in, because this is a team game and you should be working with your team for a win. Oh, and when you’re leaving in your Lorraine, it didn’t cross your mind to bring vehicles like the AML-90?
1DL has become such a cancer at this point, not even from premiums. I have had matches where within the first 4 minutes 3/4 of the team are gone. They may as well make GRB like ARB at this point… pick your one tank and go.
I will 1DL if when I die, most of the rest of the team have bailed. At that point it isnt worth feeding the other team points.
That my feeling of my last game playing with 8.0 German teammates, 5 minutes after the game start we already lose all cap and half of the team, the worst part is there already tons of soviet/us heavy tank spawn camping us, so really no use to keep playing the match.
The way I see it, there are two main reasons people one death leave. One, they can’t use their vehicle again without a backup, and two, the match is going poorly (clearly losing, or too many teammates already gone). There NEEDS to be a rework to both the spawn system and matches in general to fix this. You NEED to be able to respawn the same vehicle without a backup. Backups are not sustainable for continuous use even with warbonds, and you can only use them in a match once. If someone came there to play one vehicle, they are going to play that vehicle.
As for the second, it’s a bigger issue at top tier than at lower tiers. Better maps are needed and matches are too fast, it’s usually pretty obvious when you’re losing.
I think we should have a rating system for: how often does a player do 1DL, as well as some other unsportslike behaviors reported by other players. With that, whe the rating is lower than a threshold, a player will more likely be teamed with other players with similar rates. I don’t think map designs or insufficient backups should be the biggest problem (although they are not ignorable either), I think a player himself should be. Of course this system should have a reputation recovery mechanism.
Well I’m not saying 1DL is totally unacceptable, but if a player keeps doing this, together with other misbehavior reported, that should definitely be a problem. People tend to justify their 1DL, but after all, this kind of behavior will also make other players less likely to continue fighting (obviously, disappointed by the 1DL teammates).
Yes of course gaijin should pay more attention to the map design and backup issues (maybe make the backups cheaper and more frequent to get), as well as the GAME BALANCE, but I just want to remind that, it is always those selfish players themselves that ruin people’s happiness and the community.
This isn’t a wild concept btw.
Both LoL and Dota 2 do this to pretty nice effect.
If you got high behaviour score, your teams are pretty cool in terms of humanity. Skill may still be variable but hey, it’s much more fun losing if you got genuine teamwork and no flaming.
They need to make GRB an enduring confrontation already. Larger maps, pay as you spawn like in Sim EC. Except they need to unlock the slots for players who have left (Sim EC was bad for this years ago, havent tried it again since) because people who left the match would lock a slot on that team for the rest of the game.
