What is the truth about 'Booster Curse?'

When people make a video. On this type of topic, that usually means they were already doing their research. While recording. This isn’t that hard to figure out buddy.

For starters, how about linking the video?

Well there is something very suspicious about it.

I just scored a 300% booster after doing one of the daily challenges. ‘I’m gonna be conservative and careful’. I sit back and do some sniping and watch my team quickly melt then quit as the enemy completely steamrolls us with godlike accuracy and impeccable teamwork. 3 minutes in half my team was grey for 2 enemy losses.
My trusty Conqueror tank feels ‘bad’. Reloads seem to take longer, getting up a small incline it bogs to 5kph. A lowly Tiger tank absorbs a 500+mm pen shell on its flank with zero damage then blows me up with a hit to my tanks antenna…:( Then I die from a arty hit, then another bs fluke kill after I line up a Tiger 2, my shell bounces but his goes right through me. Another truly awful game.

i’ve found that simply not caring about a lot of things really boosts your experience in this game. I just throw on a booster when it begins to expire, and forget it exists. My team? Just ignore them, repair them when needed and ping on my drone when necessary, I’m often top or mid-high on the leaderboard anyways, whether I win or lose has never bothered me.

I do the same thing. Unfortunately it leads to cases of leaving a game because I don’t like the map or rage quitting after one death and forgetting I had a 300% booster lol

Has Gaijin ever considered a change that would allow the booster to be activated during battle?

Yes, they developed such boosters. They are called orders.

Very funny. For clarity of message: I meant RP/SL boosters.

The only use of the orders/wagers will be to recycle them in a future update.

Usually it’s down to a stigma, precedent, propsenity or likethereof. It’s a joke spread around the community as a reiteration effect. Due to it’s prevalence it’s burrowed into the community as a “curse” merely stemming from the factors of stress to make the most of the booster, and the reiteration effect. Leading to usually lower confidence and suboptimal playing. I’d say try to be confident and use the booster in a BR or vehicle(s) you like and just have fun.

The orders are SL boosters, some of them are very potent, if you combine them with SL boosters, because the booster applies to the order too.

The curse is real, no doubts about it. It is actually confirmed by data, that you get less fortunate RNG

I mean… you can roll good stuff on occasion. I’ve managed the 1,000,000 silver before… twice (yes I’m aware of the odds - never tell me the odds kid) but then I recently passed 10 years of play so…

But with regards to the high odds of getting uptier and demolished with the boosters… I’d say 50/50. I’ve had 500% boosters before that netted 300k SL’s because I intentionally went low tier so I could actually rack up some kills (I play British… they’re low tier kings when played right, ranks 3-4 are pain and rank 5 it’s starts to pick up again).

So I suspect it’s much like the draws themselves - more luck that a curse, just make sure if you want to use them that you’re playing your strongest/favourite tier so there’s less chance of getting curbstomped/sealclubbed (seriously Gaijin when can we get maps that don’t let the enemy camp just outside of the spawn point and just pick batter your tank after you move ever so slightly? Or where CAS can just demolish everyone - poor weather maybe? Have some lightening as karma for CAS doing cheap kills? Or at the very least reducing the amount of allowed CAS in Realistic as having half of the opposing team in planes strafing the spawn point gets beyond unfair. Just a thought).

Then you clearly are caring because you’re leaving after a death or because of a map? If you didn’t care, you would just play it no matter what.

I mean most of the game is designed around you having a really bad time so the idea that turning one of these on causes a change in the RNG isn’t far off.

No, War Thunder isn’t my life. I have no obligation to play and thus if I’m not having fun, I have no qualms with just leaving.

I also simply do not play maps if i don’t feel like it

I had my first good booster match in my life a few days ago. Activated a 200% silver Lions booster on an Air RB match in the Mig-23ML. Ended out with 4 kills and 2 assists and it felt awesome. Probably the only time I’ve ever had a good booster match. I activated a 200% RP booster a few matches later and I was the first to die lol
