What gameplay changes can be done to prevent the sub 7 minute matches that happen all the time at high tiers? They don’t make for good gameplay, they feel too overwhelming to some, and they lead to fewer rewards.
The 2 major changes that I believe would help, would be to add multiple airfields to spawn at, similar to EC, and by making the maximum amount of players in a match 20 or 24, rather than 32. Keeping the current marker system while limiting enemy markers to 10km could help a lot with the short match issue.
We need RB EC, but that is a separate gamemode that has been discussed a lot in other threads.
I would also like to say that I would like this thread to be primarily about 12.7+, because what’s good for 14.0, might not be good for 11.0.
What are your ideas/thoughts?
Dont let people below a certain level buy top tier premiums.
Stagger the premiums available to a player by level.
Edit: Oh, I see this is air. Personally, I think there should be 4 total spawns, and maybe a map division for those spawns. I.E - for one red and blue spawn, they must fight eachother on one half of the map and you can only cross that division after a certain metric is hit.
I agree that it would’ve been good for top tier, but it negatively affected lower BRs. It also removed teammate spotting, which really showed how bad the spotting system actually was.
I think that keeping teammate spotting, but making the max distance 10km for 13.0+ would be beneficial because it prevents dogpiling on everyone in the middle of the map.
This is one of my largest complaints at the moment with air RB. At least 7 out of 10 matches will be instantly ended in about 3-4 minutes with one team easily stomping the other.

16v16 makes force concentration extremely hard to overcome. As soon as one team has 1-2 deaths because of runway kissing morons or teamkillers, or even just because 2 base bombers rushed to their deaths, it means that team is immediately down quite a bit in terms of firepower, especially since the meta is to stick together going left and then turn into the furball all together.
Basically, one team loses a few people, it turns into 14v16, then the 14 team loses another 1-2 guys and now its actually a 12v16 game despite the timer saying its only been 2 minutes.
It’s why most good players will put heavy emphasis on doing high impact early game plays that immediately put the odds in your favor.
The fix? Lower player counts in matches (12v12 should be max) and if that doesn’t work (even if it does work you should do this anyway) rework the maps so that the meta for every single match isn’t to fly left, turn right at center of map, and die to furball.
One thing other users have already mentioned here is the 1 day period we had where you had to spot your own targets to get enemy nametags. I thought that HEAVILY improved gameplay to the point I thought it was intentional and got excited, then they removed it the next day and we’re back to the stale old meta. Even just re implementing this could do a lot without needing to fully remove 16v16.
It was a bug anyway, but it shows really good what ARB could be.
Imo they only have to remove the enemy markers you not spotted on your own but on mini map they are still there. Or remove it on minimap too, and we can spot them for the team by messages.
And please for god sake I hope they don’t forget the bots.
Just played 12v12 limited game for the first time today and sadly it was over in 5 minutes as well. Everyone just went to the middle as always and indulged in a furball, just trading kills.
Everyone wanted AHR missiles, Gaijin finally gave in. Matches are played on Maps designed for WW2 plane battles. This equals faster matches, and according to the forum want quick fast matches. Then people complain about the changes they wanted to happen. Then something new will be wanted, then people will complain about the new thing…
Indeed, but we need some changes that will actively push players to not go to the center of the map.
Also, ridiculous amount of missiles that top tier aircraft can carry surely doesn’t positively impact the game’s duration.
nothing wrong with short matches. you get your kills quickly and move into a next match. if its stressful, oh no many things in life are stressful and combat games especially. thats how it should be, lets simulate how it feels. stress is normal and healthy part of life. go play props if you dont like it.
