Was the Naval aim broken today?

Seems like the Coastal aim got MUCH worse as of today. It no longer seemlessly track targets slightly behind walls, in which, indirect fire is a major part of, and pre-tracking, pre-firing targets before they come out of cover

The aim also seems way less accurate now especially with low velocity ships (cough British 113mm guns)

In the below picture, I clearly had an lock on the target, but it would not raise the guns.

yeah noticed this too, also aux cannons are broken i guess, they just phase through enemy ships

There was an update today claiming to fix the bug.
Guess what it is still there.
WG has been paying someone in there to break the game.
There is no other explanation for the stupidity going on with these updates.

Can confirm I have the same issue. I can lock onto a target but if I don’t have LOS the guns will not elevate. This includes targets I already had tracked and were hitting as soon as they go behind a small island.

Some people said to unlock and re-lock but it seems like one of the following is happening:

Either 1: Targets are staying locked when they should be disappearing
Or 2: We lost the ability to indirect fire.

My theory is that it’s a response to auto aim making coastal boats miserable to play

Turned out, this made things even worse, as coastal boats rely on shifting between cover And cover.

“don’t fix what’s not broken” should have been the whole thing.

Naval was/is a unbalanced mess, but it requires delicate attention to improve it. A guiding hand with precision.

The “fix” is like calling an ambulance for a cold flu, then getting run over by it.

The mode should have been left alone.

Just had a match and can confirm that even a single tree can block LOS.

A light cruiser was sitting behind an island peppering me with rounds in my moffet and I was completely unable to return fire from 5km away. I guess his gun barrel had LOS or something.

Also, if something is slightly out of range of your guns you can now target and attempt to shoot, and shoot low. -_-

The past few days the Bluewater aiming has bugged. Suddenly, mu shot stop going to the target and hit the water right next top my ship. Even if a select a new target, the shels go right in the water not where I’m aiming. I’ll be doing damage to a ship, and all of a sudden the shells stop hitting, I zoom out of sniper and see they are hitting the water in front of me. I’ve not changed anything. The new aiming system was bad enough, but noe the point and click aiming is not even reliable.

Update 71 and not a peep about Naval fixes. So much fail…
Meanwhile gaijin staff is going away for the weekend and leaves us with this dumpster fire. Comrade, we rest, you grind with what we give you. I don’t think so.

I am encountering the same glitch and am frustrated!
All because they changed the combat system which didn’t need to be changed.
I demand that everything be restored!

1980s stuff, even Soviet ones, are reliable and long lasting. UAZ jeeps etc. This is none of it.

No something is seriously going wrong. There are times when my shells will fire properly and hit as aimed. Then their other times where say if an island is between me and the target even though I can still see the target fully and I aim at it put the cursor in the middle of the ship it’s short fires the guns. It shoots the island instead. I’ve also had my shells land behind the ship even though my cursor is pointing at the front of the ship. I’ve also had where I’ve changed targets and it continues to fire at the first Target i had targeted. I’ve also fired volleys at ships and they just never landed.

If somebody wants to take a look at what I’m talking about I’m going to post a session ID for a game I played today and of course the name is the same as here.

It doesn’t seem as bad with the coastal ships. But it’s completely terrible with the bigger ships. This really causes me an issue because I usually grind the battle pass with navel.

This has happened to me as well. What was really frustrating was I got shot by a ship that was behind an island and killed me from behind the island. The kicker here was I was behind another Island 7 miles away still killed me. I literally couldn’t have shot him if I wanted to and he shot me like the islands weren’t even there.

Yup, i just came here for the same thing. Enemy ships go dark red and untargetable and range is fixed to 7.21km. Even when they go bright red i still struggle to target even stuff 4-5km away

What an absolute mess Gaijin. You changed to an aiming system that nobody wanted and messed it up so bad that it hasnt worked properly since implementation, despite it having been weeks and you rolling out numerous ‘fixes’

Gaijin, time to admit defeat and admit you messed up and put the aiming system back the way it was.
