Naval mode is finally dead

I came back to the post to say: The mode really is dead.

Nice bait mate.

Meanwhile

incredible short time to fix - did you tried if it works now?
if one of us non-russian players make a bug report its mostly either closed as “no bug” or they want ridicoulos additional information. The torpedo bug on german and japanese vessels still exists after months.
congrats to your “fast lane”

we still on 2.45.1.48 yet

i PMed to two known technical moderators and marked it here with @ so probably something of this worked

From the .50 patch notes: “A bug that caused the turrets to not adjust fire to the crosshair in Naval Arcade Battles and instead fire at the same location on the enemy ship has been fixed.”

So the behavior while it was broken seems a little misinterpreted, it was just mirror imaging.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I must point out that the naval aim has been broken as of now.

That’s exactly why I recorded videos, so everyone can see how it worked. It wasn’t shooting at the same location on the enemy ship, so the explanation given as a bug fix is not correct.

It could be a test of even more simplified aiming, it could be some mistake (maybe the devs used AI bots aiming code for player controlled vessels by mistake) or maybe there were some bugs that need to be fixed and this system will be added later.

It definitely wasn’t just random shooting. Even screenshots shown by Kweedko confirm this (all the enemy modules are destroyed by fully automatic aiming, that’s definitely not shooting at one random location).

So they fixed it but not whole,

can’t shoot any of them cause of it

hitreg is also completely broken, only noticed this with coastal for now

yep, its completely borked

maybe it was packetloss?

no, definitely not packet loss

I agree, I hate it hope they change it

omg. You are literally NOT EVEN AIMING. Wow. WTF, Gaijin. This is so stupid.

It’s literally getting worse…and WORSE. It’s… not even a game anymore. It’s slowly becoming an Idle Clicker.

You’re absolutely correct. Before, players at least were prepared to enter into realistic with the basics of aiming. NOW… Players are going to have ZERO context of how to aim.

OP is right. It’s like watching Gaijin drive nails into a coffin.

This is one time I was happy to see a death circle map, as there are no land masses in the way (except Midway). With this recent aiming system I feel so disconnected. Instead of aiming now I just bob and weave. This gest old really fast. I have to force myself to even play one match.

Lol. That’s just sad.

I was on a pr 206M, my favorite tactic is to amnorack SKR 7 by shooting front turret, just above the water line to blow up it’s ammo using rapid fire 57mm.

I was wondering why does the shells keep hitting the middle of the ship despite me pointing at the weak spot.

Furthermore, this just makes ships less accurate as users can no longer compensate for manuvers.

This change was reverted after not even one day. So we are back to “you have to put your crosshair on the enemy” aiming system.

I didn’t think to check the boats. I only checked ships and it worked very well there. So maybe this fully automatic aiming system had problems, when you used a boat. It’s a bit of a shame this system was reverted so quickly, so we can’t test it anymore. Just from pure curiosity, because this fully automatic aiming system had to be coded by one of the devs.

I also noticed that this fully automatic aiming system worked much better if you used ranging shot (fire guns separately). This way the AI was spreading the damage very nicely all over the enemy weakspots. But if you used salvos, all the shells were going into the same location, and since you had no control over that location it could create situations, where two salvos were shot at the same location by AI.

From a few tests I did, the AI usually aimed their first shots below enemy rear guns, but I didn’t do enough tests to check if there is any pattern here. They changed it back about 2-3 hours after I first heard about this aiming change. The devs also called this change a bug in the changelog, which is interesting. I’m not sure if this system will return (after some tweaks) or they just released it by mistake (maybe they had this idea before and even wrote the code for it, but later resigned from releasing it, but it was somehow activated by one of the updates).

Anyway, we will see what will happen in the future. Considering more and more bugs they add to Naval Arcade aiming, they are clearly still working with this code, so I expect to see more changes in this area in the near future.

You are delusional in your conclusions, system is still there for AI gus, it was a bug, there was no difference in single shots or full salvos cause each target for each turret chosed separately(which actual not right if turrets use FCS).

And system ain’t aiming right for 100+ mm guns overshooting a lot

is anyone else having issues aiming guns on destroyers? they seem to not even aim correctly, just shooting water.
its mostly noticable when i try shooting over islands or other obstacles
