Hello everyone this is my first suggestion which I hope is the first of many with my goal to fill out the suggestions for decorations and events category of this form as I find it sadly empty. With an IP like Warthunder there is much that can happen here! I would like to thank R_nminbiY_n for there Halo Crossover Event which inspired my suggestion. If I make any errors with the suggestion prosses please place me in the correct direction if you find any errors message me so they are corrected.

What Is Mobile Suit Gundam UC?
The One Year War is the main conflict in the original Mobile Suit Gundam series, created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise in 1979. It tells the story of a brutal war between the Earth Federation and the space colony nation Principality of Zeon, who use giant humanoid robots called mobile suits including the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam and Zaku II which we all know and love today.

The series is popular because it revolutionized anime by introducing the real robot genre, treating mecha as military machines instead of superheroes. Its grounded storytelling, themes, and depiction of conflict made it influential across science fiction and gaming to this day. The best way I would put it is gritty, lived in, and rough just like WarThunder.

Why The Crossover Would Work In WarThunder?
With the recent Senrai Maidens event Gaijin has basically stated they are willing to entertain anime in WarThunder on the global servers and previously Area 88 for the Japanese side of the game. Area 88 has a similar vibe to Gundam so the concept has been tested.

Why This Would Benefit Gaijin
Gaijin’s game models are likely some of the most accurate in gaming and I would not be surprised if the bulk of people in Gaijin’s development department are fans of model building. Gundam is very much connected to model building in the form of Gunpa which is also connected to other forms of modeling hobbies like ships and dioramas of the sort. Gaijin could work to make there own Warthunder brand modeling kits + with this crossover make Gundam X WarThunder themed kits and with that expanding there gaming market with the spirit of kit bashing. Working with the Gundam IP could also open up the ability for Gaijin to make a Real Robot Genre game with similar damage models to WarThunder and with a mix of vehicles with plenty of opportunities. Infantry V mechs mechs V IFVs/Tanks? The possibilities are endless!

How the Event Should be Executed
I would like to see this event be done in a similar way to the WW1 event as it was simple to follow and gain the awards without too much confusion or struggle. The WW1 set up also to a point prevented people from dog piling on one faction as then you could not get the awards. I would also add awards that can only be gained though in event actions though these should be simple and not be time consuming AKA use the Type 61 A+ to knock out 20 Zakus to gain this Avatar or special Zaku kill marks.

What Gaijin Could Test
Do you hate drones informing the whole enemy team your location when you had the most OP ambush spot on the map? Do you hate being targeted by a radar missile the second you spawn in? I completely understand the issue so I am introducing you to Electronic Warfare which can be tested with this event. In the Gundam UC universe there is a particle called minovsky particles which for our context messes up technology that utilizes electromagnetic based technology by casing a cloud of particles that absorbed EM waves like light though a fog. This is close enough to strategic jamming where you fill the sky with unwanted electronic noise effecting the enemy and your self.

I am not an expert in EW and I doubt we will find much about it besides the predicted effect of hiding yourself, causing ghosts or casing an electronic fog. So simply we are violating rule 01 of the FCC This device may not cause harmful interference so where off to a great start! Overall minovsky particles are just techno babble but the EW angle is great for testing the concept before adding it to the game. EW would solve the overall OP nature of drones though tank based jammers and save you from missiles in fighters with jamming pods. Due to all this electronic interference it would be interesting if when under the effect any new chats you send or receive becomes garbled but that may be too much. Gaijin could also use this to test new forms of communication like friendly line of site messaging like how you can call out an enemy aircraft but you can do a quick message that you got an enemy on your tail but under jamming interference that becomes harder. Good communication wins battles but otherwise from that in the Gundam universe minovsky particle is why radar and radio communications are much less useful and make the whole story work.

Late to the Party: Mobile Suit Gundam – The Avocado
It is the year double-o 79 of the universal century a half century has passed since earth began moving its burgeoning population into gigantic orbiting space colonies. A new home for mankind where people are born and raised and die. nine months ago the cluster of colonies furthest from the earth called side three proclaimed itself the principality of Zeon and launched a war of independence against the Earth Federation. Initial fighting lasted over one month and saw both sides lose half their respective populations. Eight months had passed since the rebellion began they were at a stalemate.

Its now time to brake that stalemate and see if tanks and jet fighters are still kings of the field and sky or if Mobile Suits have overtaken them. Its now time for you Tankers and Fly Boys to prove em stuck up Mobile Suit pilots wrong so get out there and win us the war!

The Earth Federation in Mobile Suit Gundam is a powerful interplanetary government that rules over Earth and its space colonies in the Universal Century timeline. Formed to maintain order and unity among humanity, it becomes increasingly bureaucratic and militarized, often prioritizing control over the colonies’ welfare. During the One Year War, the Federation battles the Principality of Zeon using its own mobile suits the Gundam’s symbolizing both humanity’s hope and the Federation’s struggle to preserve dominance across space.

The Principality of Zeon in Mobile Suit Gundam is a militaristic space nation that declared independence from the Earth Federation, seeking freedom for the space colonies. Founded by the Zabi family after the death of philosopher Zeon Zum Deikun, it transforms Deikun’s ideals of autonomy into an authoritarian regime. Zeon launches the One Year War against the Federation, using powerful mobile suits and devastating tactics, becoming both a symbol of rebellion and a warning of how noble ideals can be corrupted by ambition and war.

Special gimmick:

  1. Gwazine-class Battle Ship orbital beam weapon strike replacing your artillery strike.

Map Ideas

The map Gaijin develops should be able to handle he mobile suits while also being capable of being modified to a normal WarThunder map like the space port map in game from the 2077 event. Due to the mobility of mobile suits it may be wise for the map to be large enough to be able to provide cover and safe spots to be in. So it could be a way to prototype OzzRedNose Frontline Game mode but if not a large ground map would have to work. Some of the points that would be unique and make the map special would be to have an action happen in the map like rocket launches kicking off a dust/fire storm which would provide changes to the overall gameplay and provide opportunities. A second in event point taking the idea from the TailSpin event is flying carriers which is a prominent feature to the Gundam franchise (EFSF White Base/Zeon Gaw Air mothership). These carriers would be nice to see just for the interest they would give to the game mode and people seem to always like the stupidly impractical concept of flying aircraft carriers or motherships. The last major point taken from the WW1 event should be use of the AI infantry to bring to life the battle with them moving up and following your vehicle around “just be careful not to step on anyone mobile suit pilot I know the power gets to your head.” I don’t expect 4 maps for this event just 1 big map these are just ideas to demonstrate the concept.

The Carriers

The overall function of these would be launch/recover planes in an extremely impractical but fun way with both sides doing a figure 8 around there respected sides. Mobile suits would be lobbed into battle from these platform if an air drop is desired. This mainly to show the always iconic launch sequence which Gundam is known for.

The main heroes ship and home of the original series has two catpult decks capible of launching fighters and lobbing mobile suits.

Zeon Gaw Air mothership:
The work horse of the Zeon air arm of the One Year War with multiple versions and modifications capable or lobbing a Zaku out the front door using some sort of catapult. Has a special Fighter hanger. The lore changes the Gaw so much you likley think each one was specially built as sizes and weopons differ.

Battle of Jaburo Map

Map context

Lore Context:
The Battle of Jaburo is a major conflict, taking place near the end of the One Year War in UC 0079. It depicts the Principality of Zeon launching a large-scale assault on the Earth Federation’s underground headquarters, Jaburo, located in the Amazon Basin. Zeon’s goal is to destroy the Federation’s command center and mobile suit production facilities, but the Federation’s defenses successfully repelled the invasion. The battle marks a turning point, showcasing the Federation’s growing mobile suit power and Zeon’s strategic decline on Earth.

The Map
I am not going to design a map as I am not a game map designer and would leave that up to Gaijin but I will explain what the map should have. Jaburo is located in the deep jungles of the Amazon but on top of a great military bunker facility with multiple rivers crisscrossing the map with infrastructure allowing passage over the bridges. Engagements should take place on these river crossings with one side spawning at a bunker entrance and the other by a great river or sea. The map should include bunker posts, vehicle entrances, radar systems, AA missile posts, missile silo, flack gun posts, and spaceship launch posts. If one gimmick could be added a few minutes after spawning in a match the spaceship/ missile launch posts will open up and launch kicking off a large dust and fire storm. There would be hulks of tanks and mobile suits scattered throughout the map with clear indications of recent battle. This spaceship launch gimmick would give you the ability to get to good sniper spots. Once the map is reused the spaceships can be changed to ICBMs and the map name would be changed to jungle missile base.

Battle of Odessa Map

Map context

Lore Context
The Battle of Odessa was a decisive campaign fought in November UC 0079 between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon over Zeon’s primary Earth stronghold in Eastern Europe, centered around its mining and supply base at Odessa, Ukraine. The Federation, led by General Revil, launches Operation Odessa to cut off Zeon’s access to critical resources like oil and minerals that fuel their war effort. The Federation successfully overwhelms Zeon’s forces, forcing Commander M’quve to retreat and abandon the base. The victory at Odessa marks a major turning point in the One Year War, shifting momentum in favor of the Earth Federation.

The Map
The due to the vast size of the operations from Eastern Europe to Ukraine and even including parts of Romania and Turkey there are plenty of places to place the map. The best place in my opinion would be the the Odessa spaceport/city from Requiem for Vengeance as it can be large enough to handle the needs of the event and be turned into a in game map which could be called Soviet Space Port or Soviet Port. Just like the previous one after spawning after a few minutes there would be a launch of escaping spaceships kicking off a dust and fire storm event allowing you to dig in and get ready.

Liberation of California Base Map

Map context

Lore Context
The Liberation of California Base is a major Earth Federation offensive late in the One Year War, aimed at reclaiming the California Base a massive network Zeon-controlled military facilities on the west coast of North America. Originally a Federation naval and aerospace complex, it was captured early in the war and used by Zeon to manufacture and launch mobile suits, aircraft, and space vessels. During the Federation’s counteroffensive following the victory at Odessa, Federation forces, attack and successfully retake the base after intense fighting. This victory deprives Zeon of one of its last major Earth strongholds and allows the Federation to prepare for its final push into space.

The Map
California Base proper is a massive naval air base in California with space launch capabilities, dry docks, bunkers, armored hangers, heavy rail, and repair/production facilities a truly important place. Since the facility was captured by Zeon there would be Zeon insignia, flags, and equipment. Due to the limited resources and time damaged and broken federation aircraft where haphazardly left where they where found due to the overall victory in North America in the early stages of the war. The factory district would be the area which should be seen to be working right up to the current engagement. Warships in the harbor would be skuttled and the runway blown out with anti-runway bombs. When spawning in taking a que from American Desert map but in the air a Cargo plane (A Gaw later changed to something else) would attempt to do an emergency landing on the stricken runway to unfortunately suffer a rapid unscheduled disassembly forming a wreak and a capture point. Zeon rockets like in the previous maps would attempt to flee after a few minutes of the match starting kicking off a dust storm and fire storm allowing you to hide or dig in. Other points would be planes stuck in fueling positions on the runway, dug in and abandoned light AA guns, abandoned AA missile platforms, search lights, burning wreaks of tanks/MS suits, and repair/fire vehicles scattered about the place indicating that the occupying Zeon forces did not expect this type of push. After the event ends all event objects would be removed Zeon rockets replaced with heavy lift rockets and the name changing to something like American base. Overall there is little set in stone of what the California base would look like just that it has a list of requirements so Gaijin can build off of it to make a unique special map.

Liberation of South East Asia Against the Forces of Zeon Map

Map context

Lore Context
The Battles of Southeast Asia during the One Year War, represent the prolonged ground conflict between the Earth Federation Forces and the Principality of Zeon over control of key territories, resources, and hidden base sites throughout the jungles and mountains of Southeast Asia. After Zeon’s initial Earth invasion, the region became a stronghold for Zeon’s remaining ground forces, who established supply lines, underground bases, and development facilities such as the Apsaras Project, which was held up in a former tin mine turned bunker complex. The Federation, determined to cut off Zeon’s resource routes and eliminate their presence on Earth, launched a series of coordinated offensives using mobile suit units to root out Zeon’s entrenched positions. The campaign consisted of ongoing skirmishes, ambushes, and base assaults in jungle and mountain environments, where Zeon’s forces relied on guerrilla tactics and fortified terrain to resist. Ultimately, the Federation’s steady advances and destruction of the Apsaras program marked the collapse of Zeon’s organized resistance in the region, helping to secure Southeast Asia and shift the Federation’s focus toward liberating larger occupied territories and preparing for their counterattack into space.

The Map
The overall map should be on the side of a forested small mountain with ruined burning bunkers and wreaks. At the bottom of the mountain would be an industrial East Asian city which would take up 25% of the map. Running though the middle of the map would be a highway and railway that is pot marked with bomb craters with some rivers crisscrossing the map to tie it all together. Since the mountain used to be a tin mine there would be half collapsed mine entrances where you can hide your tank or find a convenient short cut. The overall pace of the battle would be moving across the mountain instead of up the mountain to prevent sniping into spawns. For this map hidden spaceship silos open up launching there rockets causing a fire/dust storm. The inspiration of the area comes from 8th MS team which based the location off of Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, parts of India and Hainan China. Once the event is over the map can be cleaned up and turned into besieged missile base.

Vehicles
Vehicles in this crossover would be a mix of vehicles from the Gundam universe and from Warthunder. Each of the preexisting assets from Warthunder would gain a skin for the faction using it which could be gained from the event. I would pick U.S.A. vehicles for Zeon due to in the Gundam lore Zeon over running North America rapidly capturing U.S.A. weapon stockpiles and putting them to use in underequipped unites and pro-Zeon friendlies. Due to large parts of Asia and the U.S.S.R. being sill free from the Principality of Zeon’s forces eastern vehicles would be utilized from there nations stockpiles to fill out friendly nations units and underequipped Federation Unites. I would suggest using in game assets like bushes to hide the tops of these vehicles as there biggest fear in the crossover would be a Zakus cannon shell coming down on there roofs while also feeling more lived in. Vehicles that are in the award section if picked would be playable in the event under the Federations flag.

Vehicles from the Gundam IP would have to be modeled from scratch but with the kit bashing spirit. There is the opportunity to make a Warthunder X Gundam Gunpla so these vehicles should have characteristics of field modifications. These modifications would be extra armor, rubber matting, smoke launchers, explosive reactive armor, concrete armor, track armor, cage armor, search lights, bushes, and decals. By adding a Warthunder flair to these vehicles and mobile suits there would be a level of special uniqueness.

Due to my idea for this to be a test for electronic warfare all vehicles will have minovsky particle dispensers which can pump out this electromagnetic interfering particles just like jammers do to an extent. Reused assets will have there powerful GPS radar and computer aided targeting systems. This is in order to incentives everyone to fill the airwaves with minovsky particles cough cough electronic warfare to save themselves from top tier shenanigans we all know and love. You know when its working when the Drones fall from the sky. But remember minovsky particles cough cough electronic warfare is a double edge beam saber and will stop you from using all the top tier shenanigans you love.

Due to the Antarctic treaty in Gundam ending the match with an Atomic Bomb is non grata so once you collect enough point a bit less then an Atomic Bomb you can spawn in a SPECIAL WEAPON which is a Mobile Armor or a Gundam which should have enough fire power to tilt the balance in your teams favor but you will likely become a target for anyone that can shoot back at you.

I don’t expect all these vehicles would be used in the event but its a good list to start with.

I am not suggesting 4 vehicles for one event. But different vehicles for each map suggestion for an award with some head cannon of why there associated with said map. I would only expect Gaijin to make one map for such a crossover. So one map and one vehicle award. They should be individually playable in the event as a spawn option for the Federation Faction.

EE-T1 Osório was a Brazilian main battle tank developed in the 1980s by Engesa as an export-oriented project. Designed to compete with Western tanks like the M1 Abrams and Leopard 2, it featured modern armor, a 105mm or 120mm gun, and advanced fire-control systems.

Head Cannon:
In the Universal Century the EE-T1 was adopted by the Brazilian Army and during the battle of Jaburo the Brazilian Army was called up to support the Earth Fediration in the task of defending Jaburo Base and pushing Zeon out of Brazil once more. The EE-T1 would fight valiantly against Zeon armor and mobile suits. The EE-T1 would help liberate there homeland from the Zeon threat and would continue to serve on for years to come in a multitude of roles.

Skin
Would get a special Earth Federation Ground Forces Brazil Division Skin for the event and as a bonus.

The 2S35 “Koalitsiya-SV” is a modern Russian self-propelled 152 mm artillery system featuring an automated loading system, advanced fire-control and targeting electronics, and extended range compared with older howitzers; it was developed to provide rapid, high-volume indirect fire and shoot-and-scoot survivability. A dual-barrel/twin-gun concept is being experimented with.

Head Cannon:
In the Universal Century the U.S.S.R. had been experimenting with dual barrel artillery and tanks in order to guarantee a artillery overmatch in any theoretical conflict. During the One Year War these SPG would be utilized by the Red Army and the Earth Federation Ground Forces in the artillery role but also taking advantage of the high angle of the Guns to quickly take out Zaku’s by destroying there heads sensor module. Zaku pilots nickname them Gorbachev’s Shot Gun due to the double barrels but also how its hit effectiveness would become lethal within the last 2-3km in a Zaku battle charge when under extreme minovsky particle interference. When not under minovsky particle interference it was known to act like a sniper rifle and engagements would be avoided under such conditions until minovsky particles where dispersed to combat density.

Skin
Would have a special Earth Federation Ground Forces skin in the style of WW2 Soviet tanks with multiple Zaku and Zeon tank kill marks.

The Sukhoi Su-47 “Berkut” is an experimental Russian fighter jet developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau in the late 1990s. It’s known for its distinctive forward-swept wings, giving it incredible agility and maneuverability.

Head Cannon:
During the lead up to the One Year War the Sukhoi design bureau was sub contracted out work by Anaheim Electronics to develop a high speed high maneuverable atmospheric fighter jet in order to counter the Zeon Dopp fighter that was in development and to take part in world wide peace keeping operations especially in and around South Asia. The Su-47s radar was over engineered in order to over power minovsky particle interference but in combat this was proven to be hit and miss with 70% of early engagements turning into high energy dog fights. Due to damage by Zeon spy’s the Sukhoi plant producing engines was not able to produce enough parts so only 150 where built 160 if you include preproduction models. These planes would be rarely seen in battle becoming a rumor and a demon among Zeon fighter pilots. Strangely enough over 500 false kills being assigned to be the Su-47 by Zeon fighter aces which would greatly confuse Zeon military intelligence. The Su-47 would come out in full force during operations to liberate the airbases of the California Base network as there job was to suppress Zeon airpower and partake in Mobile Suit busting with some of the planes gaining a pair of Beam Cannon pods capable of melting any Zaku or unlucky tank. After the war fighter aircraft like the Su-47 where seen as expensive novelties and with the Core-EZ fighter being seen as an affordable alternative. It also did not help that the Sukhoi design bureau was dissolved into the greater Anaheim Electronics Corporation with the inevitable integration of the U.S.S.R. into the Earth Federation in the new post war environment. The surviving planes would live out there days as monuments to the heroes who piloted them.

Skin
Due to the limited production amount some Su-47s would retain an experimental status and would be given the standard Earth Federation Air Force prototype livery of White, Blue, Red, Yellow, and Grey but due to the controls being in Russian most combat patrols would be flown by Soviet Pilots who would paint the Soviet Star on the wings and tail in defiance of E.F.A.F. protocols. These pilots would gain a great many kills from Dopp fighters and Gaw transport bombers which would proudly adorn there planes with many kill marks.

The Bulsae-4 is a North Korean long-range, vehicle-mounted anti-tank guided-missile system typically fitted with an eight-tube launcher on an M-2010 6×6 chassis using an electro-optical/fiber-optic guided missile with a top-attack profile to strike modern armor at ranges reported around 10–25 km

Head Cannon:
During the Early days of Zeon’s Invasion onto Earth in there against the forces of the Earth Federation many independent countries would be placed in the middle or occupied by Zeon Armed Forces. The hermit kingdom of North Korea would fall victim to this pressure and 72 hours after the first Earth Drop Operations where undertaken by Zeon, diplomatic efforts between the two nations would collapse resulting in Zeon commencing Drop Operations on the Korean Peninsula. These Zeon Drop Operations where to to gain a geographic advantage against Federation Forces in South East Asia and to acquire Asia’s industrial potential which Zeon lacked. Zeon expecting the Forces of North Korea to be a cake walk where taken by surprise that there space landing forces where quickly isolated by Korean Fast Reaction Squads. Also, weapons like the Bulsae-4 being mostly unaffected by the minovsky particle interference which plagued the Earth Federation Armed Forces since the start of the war. The Bulsae-4 system would go on to destroy over 60+ Zakus in these desperate engagements gaining the nickname The False Cheonjiwang Slayer by there crews. The failure of Zeon forces on the Korean Peninsula was Zeon’s first major loss of the war costing commander of the operation multiple demotions for his failure. Due to the success of the Bulsae-4 system the Earth Federation Ground Forces asked for the production license in trade for assisting North Korea in reverse engineering Zaku IIs captured during the invasion. The Bulsae-4 production license would accelerate the development of the M-101A3 Regina Anti-Mobile Suit Rocket and other anti-mobile suit AFVs that would see use in neutral space colonies.

Skin
The skin of the Bulsae-4 due to it being a licensed production should be in the Earth Federation livery pattern with the relevant vehicle identifiers as a federation AFV. The reference to its Korean heritage would be the nickname decal on the side False Cheonjiwang Slayer.

Decal Awards

I would not expect all of these in an event but the Gundam universe is full of decals due to the modeling hobby industry. This is just the surface of possibilities so Gaijin could dig deep with this one and not hit the bottom. Most of these would be nice in event codes, event rewards, event boxes, and SL boxes.

I think the mods ran out of event suggestions

The biggest problem would be that Gaijin would have to obtain (pay for) a license from whomever holds the Gundam IP rights. Not sure they would want to invest that for a one time event and it would be a “bridge to far” of a stretch into sci-fi for a game that is notionally strictly historical.
OTOH,
The code is already in the game for legged things, and Gaijin has spent money and dev time on less valid events. So it would be fine as long as it doesn’t throw the game out of its realistic core.

gaijin made their own cleavage heavy anime slop to sell premiums with so i dont think anything cool would ever come anyway

Well the event idea was to provide overall a fleshed out feed back for the Senrai Maidens and flaws I saw in it. Gaijin can only measure something on money made with the exception of suggestions so by providing feed back in this manner it may end up on a Powerpoint at Gaijin one day. I would prefer if there Anime crossover like area 88 is more rough and tumbled like a Gundam crossover.

Also its large suggestion because in product development the largest stays most intact. The other point is the Gundam IP has had a poor time of it concerning video games so they may find a crossover with Gaijin beneficial.

Fair enough I would see this idea just like the Halo Crossover Event that inspired this to just be something very small but if you go big you sometimes win big.

I kind of like this event idea, but I would swap the Su-47 vehicle reward suggestion for something like the Object 490A (the cheese wedge one) since it does almost resemble the YMT-05 Hildolfr you mentioned.

I bet they wont see value on giving this kinda crossover.
And to be honest, it sounds more WOT thing not War thunder

My thinking is this Warthunder is a very large and popular game and crossovers are rare. The second part is Gundam and video games have been having major issues as there not as successful as they wanted them to be in recent times. A union might be beneficial to both companies for a project and a crossover might be a good test grounds. Most Gundam games are basically HP bars but in most of the stories you take damage and snipe out reactors. It could work but that is my 2 cents
