War Thunder Survey: What do People Enjoy About the Game, And What Don't They?

I just wanna play ground. Meanwhile 32 freaking bombs heading towards me and my teammates ruins the game and makes me go play other games

To the community,

Its clear to see that since the start of this year and for some time now everything that we report through to the Development team in terms of bugs, realism fixes, game mode suggestions, battle pass suggestions are being ignored for the sake of profits. I fully understand that Gaijin is a company and needs to make money like any other.

But dismissing the issues of the player base is only going to lead one way and that’s a player decline. This is shown by how many players were pulled in for the April fools event this year. the the decline that we are seeing via steam DB charts. In my opinion I feel that this is due to the concerns of the player base are again being ignored.

Jumping forward from the Nuclear escalation event we see that in the latest Heavy Cavalry Update even though it was over a month in pre release was loaded with bugs on the drop and was clearly rushed out to beat the summer sale start date. from our POV as a player base its clear to see that Gaijin have done this to milk the cow so to speak as now the BMPT-72 is on sale along with all of the premium top tier jets. which as you can see on stat shark are still overperforming in their respective BR’s. (before anyone calls me a NATO main I have top tier in most nations for air and ground).

Reward system-

Ground vs Air RB

In Air RB you can comfortably grind out a vehicle by either bombing bases and getting a couple of kills you can net around 20- 30K RP per game. Now comparing this to ground from what I have experienced recently was a 12 kill game 3 capture points and a dropped nuke, my rewards 14K RP and 120K SL. bearing in mind this was with a premium line up of ground vehicles ranging from 10.7 to 11.7. which is abysmal.

Bug reporting-

In terms of the bug reporting can we have a transparent system where the player base can actually see how Gaijin implements vehicle buff’s and nerf’s as from a player perspective you get called out for Russian bias and accept a vehicle fix from a singular manual but the burden of proof for the rest of the nations is so much higher to the point where any more information being gathered to site sources would require restricted documents to prove. BY NO MEANS AM I SAYING TO LEAK RESTRICED DOCUMENTS. but by implementing this system we as a player base would be able to see where we need to provide information from and how much rather than just “not a bug”.

Gaijin can turn this back around by listening to the players, the content creators. by taking suggestions on what would keep the player base engaged and integrative with the game long term. As the relationship works both ways without Gaijin we wouldn’t have this amazing game and with out us the players Gaijin wouldn’t be Gaijin.

If I have missed anything please reply below.

Chuck Norris-like bots in naval that shooting at you from like 10 kms away are just RIDICULOUS.

Bugs on the ground on maps are very, very bad for any thinking about eSports etc. (it killed my crew member yesterday -for example- just by driving tru SINAI map).

trees in front of airfield DOESNT EXIST!

Spawncamping in air AB modes are the worst experienced for any player, and when I complained, I had been banned from forum

Thanks for your attention :)

Still hoping for having a “sincere” (that’s the hardest part) communication on the situation since last week with the community and CC. I always feel that the communication between the studio and the community is still approximate, I dunno something is off. I think mods do their part as much as they can doing the relay, but I feel some deep ocean trench between us and the studio.

Yea, as soon as I seen this thread I knew it was going to be loaded and guided questions, and it was obvious from the first question.

All written with a subjective approach. Does not seem loaded to me

Most people responding to that poll feel there is an issue on balance at top tier, which let’s be honest, is not very surprising…

Actually a pretty well written post and the poll(s) are not leading at all,
especially compared to most we get in here . . … lol.

Some of the replies have gotten off track and have not been all that helpful.
But . . . it started off very well and I am glad to see it has been left open
for this long and has been getting a good amount of response . . .

this is how feedback and player input should work really . . .

It’s all about the premise. The murmurings I’ve been seeing with content creators ‘returning’ as they do for these patches after long hiatuses it’s all fixated on making an issue out to be there.

Can they like show the names of all the people that saw this statement as “satisfactory” to be released to the public? (Except Stona since it is just a messenger)

^^ Case in point…

It’s almost like there’s an issue that caused a lot of them to leave in the first place.

If you’d been watching them for long enough, there was a myriad of issues… Almost as if it was a pick-an-issue wheel spin… Not to mention their chats would add anything and everything into the mix.

It even goes so far back that it’s the old War Thunder Player Council where back then I said it was just a popularity contest, and in the end they all got snotty about not being able to force changes they wanted upon the devs rather than advising and trying to raise issues correctly.

Much like every post about ‘issues’ on the forum here, they’re all hyper critical and very fixated on blame and making out that people will leave unless things are done.

You can’t do that… You can be critical, you can demonstrate issues and pass on solutions, but trying to make it dramatic and seriously overplay the problem, makes it a problem.

I don’t entirely understand what your saying it feels like broken English even if it’s technically correct so I’m gonna answer what i think your saying. I’m sorry if its wrong.

When players use the reporting system to report bugs and get official posts calling them liars (Abrams armor, & Stingers) or have accepted bug reports get completely contradicted. (Abrams Fuel bulkheads) Where is there to go but to begin shouting into the wind?

It’s not broken English, and is completely understandable.

They often do this without providing ANY of the required information.

They often get dogpiled with the ‘Everyone says this is broken an d they all report it!’ ‘why should I’ ‘FIX IT YOU STUPID DEVS’ and all the rest…

They report it correctly, and follow the methods and procedures to get it reviewed.
