So G-91 and Sea Vixen both expend all missile firing at each other and dodging, what is the Sea Vixen left to use? Meanwhile the G-91 has guns
If you manage to waste all your missiles end up in a situation where the G.91 can kill you while you’re in the overwhelmingly superior plane, you deserve to lose that fight.

Its because that BR bracket is quiet and I just go for the IL-28s that arent paying attention to what is going on around them. I never engage fighters because there is little I can do vs them unless they are totally unaware.
if we go by a single players stats alone then teh F-104J and F-1 used by PercussionCap have 2.0 and 3.0 K/D respectively therefore are massively underperforming and should be moved up in BR. 11.0 for both?

and if a Mig-15 has energy trapped themselves and allowed a Sea Vixen to get a shot oppotunity and then be unable to defend against the red top afterwards is not a skill issue?
IAR-93B, A32A, the Skyhawks, and probably a couple others I’m forgetting.
They can also not fight it very well (apart from the Lim-5p/Mig-17PF which are both marginally faster in a straight line).
Next BR change I intend to make another post to get the Sea Vixen moved back down to 8.7 in RB. I am fighting against proposals to delete the Sea Vixen from Sim without any buffs.
It is already nearly DOA in ARB and making it face supersonic aircraft like the Super Mystere, Q-5, etc and CM equipped aircraft like the Alpha Jet in SB is just stupid

It is quite amusing how poor the visibility is, but at least they have a radar.
The Sea Vixen is also much, much more controllable and doesn’t turn into a brick at high speed

Super Mystere isn’t supersonic, I agree that the Q-5 should be 9.7 minimum (honestly I think it and the other MiG-19s should all be 10.0), and moving the Vixen to 9.0 would hardly “delete it from sim”

sound logic there. you are highly opposed and biased because it is natural for someone to not want any nerfs to aircraft they play even if that aircraft should go higher
you complain mig-17’s but their players react the same as you when a nerf is asked for their aircraft

The Q-5 early is just a worse Mig-19S, but I do think some separation between the S and PT is needed due to the latter having both missiles and a radar.
The other Q-5s are overtiered imo, with the Q-5L being the same BR as the F-4E or A-5C (same plane but with magic 1s).
It would probably be best to move it to 8.7 to begin with and see how it performs there.
It holds 1 advantage of major note. it maintains a speed advantage, most at 9.0 or higher have the same speed. With no gun and with how niche the Red tops are. There would be little you could actually attack, you would be relegated to hiding and trying to ambush people.
Red Tops would require all-aspect to move past 8.7. It currently has better missiles than most because it does not have a gun. I dont get why this is a fact people are just dismissing as irrelevant. With rear-aspect only IRs you can do nothing to someone coming at you head on, nor is there a lot you can do in a dogfight even if you manage to get on their tail it is unlikely a red top would hit anyone actively turning.
If the Sea Vixen had R-60 or SRAAM equivalents, I could see why it should be higher, but they are weaker than Aim-9Es and only marginally stronger than Aim-9Bs. With the weaknesses the Sea Vixen has, it is only really exceptional at one thing, hunting bombers and those not paying attention.
Going from 8.3 to 9.3 is a small increase?
for sb where you complained that the 8.3 BR is too quiet so that your kd is inflated because of that, a increase to 9.3 should help with your problem

4x of an extremely good missile at 8.3 gives you 4 free kills. What is an F9F-8 gonna do about you except maybe dodge a Red Top and then be far too slow for his 9Bs to do anything?
Many of my 104J sorties ended with 6 kills and a full internal gun magazine, it is simply not needed to have guns in WT sim.
AIM-9Gs sure, but you’ll only find those up at 9.7. R-60s used from behind have about the same range and SRAAMs are laughable.
I have never seen a Scimitar. Or if I did they just died once and left.
All aspect missiles against flareless subsonics? AIM-9P-4s from the Alpha Jet TH are already comically overpowered in some situations in Ground RB when used against the same aircraft you’re complaining about, and it’s far, FAR easier to spot and dodge a 20G missile in that mode than a Red Top in Sim.
Guns that he can’t use because you’ll be out of range, so you can just choose to disengage and RTB. In practice the G.91 has no guns because you’ll never be within the 800m or so that a human player can shoot accurately at.
See: Zomber hordes during events, during which you’ll have an endless stream of targets that ignore their RWR completely even when you’re microwaving them from miles out to point blank with the mighty NASARR and J/AWG-12.
That is also how my EJ looks pretty nice, a significant number of those kills being with the AIM-7D:
SPO-10 (lol), and some other multi-sector RWR that are generally regarded as near useless. A-4B doesn’t have one.
They are better missiles than 9Es, and not by a small margin. Moreover, not having a gun is basically meaningless for a missile bus. It wouldn’t be your primary weapon anyway, and once you ran out of missiles you’d just RTB anyway. Not having an emergency backup option barely matters at all.

Who said I was compalining about it being quiet? You’ve jsut put words in my mouth. I just hunt the IL-28s because it can deal with those easily. I avoid going for fighters unless I have a clear advantage.
9.3 would mean its facing supersonics and those armed with better missiles or even CMs. It is just stupid to propose such a BR.

clearly we can fix the problem of too quiet with making the sea vixen a 9.3

9.3 doesn’t have supersonics. Those start at 9.7. On top of that, most of the 9.7s still have worse missiles. Besides, we weren’t arguing for 9.3, we were arguing for 9.0.
