Well, only if AIM-7 will re-lock, since it doesnr have datalink
But technicly yes, thats possible, for all/most of the missiles
Well considering you basically have played sim 3 times in the past 2 months I figured a pure 1v1 would be more in your favor. And that removes the problems of team composition and aircraft capabilities.
Are you online now?
There is no missile camera in sim by the way.
And I’ve played barely any matches in general in recent history bar grinding the AGM-130s because I have interest in games other than WT as of now.
Currently I’m only in game to take test drive videos, I don’t have interest in flying out right now to grind or otherwise.
I see that you cannot scroll, here you are.
Indeed, and that is why TWS makes it easier to pull off as the target is kept on the HUD and you can easier gauge the range at which your missile currently is based upon time of flight.
Trust me…I can tell that you have barely played sim in the past months. A whole 5 games and none of them at top tier.
If your experience was beyond just fiddling around in test flight you would realize that your tactic would not be all that effective in a real match due to the limitations of the radar.
Yes and from the start of December I’ve played less than 70 RB games, its almost like I have little interest in actually playing WT as of late. Shocking I know.
And yet it is possible to pull off in either TWS or SRC, as I have already proven, which was my only goal. So far people here are grasping at straws trying to move the argument away from it not being possible to now being not a valid tactic.
This is a thing currently and is not just a glitch that persisted 3 weeks after the introduction of the Mig-29 and its R-27s.
Regardless it’s a very obvious fact that Russia is the most lacking nation in WT now.
sweden says hi
Lmao yah okay 😂
Yeah hard no, that goes to pretty much all of the non big 3 trees, of the bunch I’d say Japan would be the worst off given they have not gotten a new, unique top tier offering for a long while now thats not a warship.
Russia, Germany, and the US have done anything but truly suffer for the longest time.
they got the F-15JM june, that was the best F-15 for a few months
Germany finally got a plane that is legitimately top tier after not having one for practically an entire year.
Japan just had the Thai tech tree shoehorned into theirs in the past update. And they are the only nation that has an F-15 that can take two types of ARH missiles.
Playing with this setting on is objectively the wrong way to play the game. It stabilizes your scan zone to the horizon, forcing you to constantly adjust its elevation during any vertical movement or changes in altitude. You can’t switch it on and off with a keybind, you have to enter the options menu.
I wish they added the ability to raise and lower your scan zone relative to your aircraft. Flying high would be a little more convenient.
I can. There were no big lobbies with France on blue.
That’s not me.
I know.
No. The goal is to make a BR bracket with gen 4 jets that use exclusively fox 1s and fox 2s.
Su-27 really has to be there to make it balanced, but R-27ER is too strong. From 2 evils, I would rather have to deal with R-27ERs than AMRAAMs though. I would happily swap the F-4F ICE’s and Su-27’s BRs.
I haven’t touched my Iranian F-14, so I don’t know exactly how Fakour 90 performs. I know they accelerate quite a bit faster than regular AIM-54s. However, it’s still based on AIM-54.
I highly doubt Fakour 90 is anywhere near as good as an AIM-120. It weighs over 600kgs…
I know for a fact that regular AIM-54s are not “basically the exact same thing” as an AIM-120 💀
You missed the point.
Me 163, Me 262 and P-51D were all one of the best planes in the world when they came out, therefore people have high expectations of them and they should be balanced. F-4F ICE was bad when it came out, therefore people have little expectations of this plane and it can be bad. AV-8B Plus isn’t even a fighter.
You’re saying R-77 is so bad that it’s the same as if they didn’t have them at all and they had some random fox 1 missiles instead. You’re wrong.
R-77s have less range, but are better at close range and they are still fox 3s. They keep your enemy occupied, even if they are less potent at range than your adversary’s missile, unlike fox 1s which die when you drop the lock to defend.
Maybe. I personally think people would keep playing if they had like 5 kills and 10 deaths per game and leave if they had 1 kill and 7 deaths per game.
That’s true.
Western radars will automatically center the elevation on a selected TWS target. Playing with the radar tilt controls off is fundamentally limiting yourself… especially if you are playing at altitude.
I play with tilt controls and use a mini joystick on my throttle to adjust the elevation constantly.
There were no big lobbies for USA because they were stomping 3/4 games and the only game that was viable for red side at any given time were due to squadded up red players going into full try hard mode.
So that effectively relegates Su-27, J-11, and the F4F ICE to being purely top tier.
Yes…anything that is on red side happens to be too strong for USA players to have to fight. So 13.0 needs to remain dedicated USA stomping ground.
The Fakour 90 is far and away better than the Aim-54. It’s an extremely strong missile with the best long range performance in the game. It’s acceleration and range far outpace Aim-120 and R-27ER. It’s also a 20-25G capable missile so just dodging it in its terminal phase is not exactly easy and it’s also something that an F4F ICE at high altitude isn’t going to be able to do.
Fakour 90 spam means that even MiG-29 players are basically on the defensive before the R-27ER is even useful.
But hey…the R-27ER is too strong so Su-27 has to fight pure top tiers.
Your point is that things should be balanced on people’s expectations. This is certainly an odd take.
How do you make the P-51D-5 meet American expectations when it would have to fight against Me-163? If the P-51 D-5 had to be compared against Me-163 in WarThunder then it would go from being a mediocre plane to an unplayable one.
Heck…if D-5 had to compete against historical counterparts for props it would still be thoroughly mediocre. It would move up to 5.7 BR where late war 109s are faster than it and more maneuverable at most relevant altitudes. The same goes for planes like the P-47 D-25 where they would fight in BR ranges that relegate them to glorified ground attacker or fighter that is only viable at 8000m and higher.
Deaths are what incur spawn costs. A lot of people just run out of SL in top tier sim or are afraid of running out.
For that reason standard controls are sufficient.
I prefer reliability and convenience in my controls over capabilities.
I only have a joystick and use the hat switch to control the radar in 2 axes.
Maybe in the future I will try getting used to it again.
If that’s the case then Iranian F-14 deserves to be 13.3. I will verify it in the future, currently I’m grinding F-15E and grinding SL for MiG-29SMT.
In the end we all just want to play the vehicles we found to be cool or interesting. We hear that vehicle X was special in some way and expect it to be similarly special in the game. By special I don’t mean cases where something was just superior.
F-4F ICE is special because it’s a maxed out Phantom capable of contesting gen 4 jets with fox 3s. Sure, it may be way worse, but the fact that an F-4 can even think of killing a gen 4 fox 3 era jet or even outperform some in BVR is special.
I didn’t mean that the expectations have to match exactly. I meant it very vaguely.
If something was good and was special at X thing, then it should just be balanced and be special at X thing. Preferably meeting mostly historical enemies too.
If something was bad and was special at Y thing, then it should be balanced as much as possible without ruining other vehicles that were good at Y thing in the past. It can afford to be worse than others to a reasonable degree. If it can’t, then maybe it shouldn’t be in the game.
I didn’t take it into consideration, since I have a premium account and can’t lose SL (it’s so worth it on the 50% sale). I was looking at it purely from the fun perspective. God help everyone who plays sim without a premium account, the economy overall is so bad.
How so, I"ve almost exclusively heard it to be largely the same as the 15C MISP II, with the AAM-4 being lauded for the longest time as not worth taking over the 120A.
As stated above, I have heard nothing but hate for the AAM-4, it being present but being seldom used due to it having inferior qualities to the 120A is not a bonus. Its a slightly lighter F-15C MISP II, nothing more, nothing less.
To that same end, I find it funny that people are now saying that Japan is fine after they just got a brick of copy pasted content, the same occurring in other trees was met with quite a bit of disdain, eg the additions to the French and Italian trees. Curious.
F-15JM is lighter and has slightly more powerful engines, and the AAM-3 is a bit better than 9M
If Russia truly doesn’t suffer, let’s see this 1v1 for test data, you vs Unknown
They may be more potent if short range yes. However even in WVR them seem to be easily avoidable. They act like Aim-54, fly low and they miss, or chaff periodically and they miss.
Vs aim-120s often I feel like I have to hide behind mountains to be able to dodge them (yes that was also a pun, as when they came out they were flying / tracking through mountains). But in reality, unless I have pure distance on the aim-120 it’s almost always going to hit. I could notch and chaff, but even that seems 50/50 for working.
The best “Dodges” I’ve found are either:
A: run if you have the time and speed
B: hide behind a solid mountain
Otherwise it’s like a 80% chance your dead.
