US Helicopters

Pantsir can also kill tanks as can the VT-1 Both of those SAMs outrange the ADATS.
ADATS isn’t a good tank hunter or a good SAM which is why they cancelled it.

so you dont actually know and have to test it yourself. are you home yet, have you tested it?

Well some research would tell you the average reload for an abrams crew is 4-5 seconds IRL

it really depends, and that isn’t factoring loader fatigue or off-road stress plus the billion other factors that a loader IRL cannot sustain a fixed reload rate in a combat enviroment as fast paced as wt

This is just not true. M81 smoke has existed for decades and is a multi-spectral obscurant.

Well obviously thats true but for years the Abrams had a slower reload than The Russian tanks. Which from what ive seen thier Autoloader is like 7-8 seconds

Which is as simple as saying: All tanks in-game are equipped with multi-spectral smoke, and literally just modelling MMW the exact fucking same as IIR. Literally a 2 second fix

clearly gaijin is not interested in doing that. pointless to pretend that they are.

I’m far more knowledgeable about japanese and swedish autoloaders compared to the soviet style, but they are pretty accurate in game as to what i’ve seen in various documents and videos, that being in the 6 second region for t-80 series and 7 seconds for t-72 and t-90

in-game the Abrams doesn’t have a specific smoke grenade, it’s just labeled as “66mm smoke grenade”

yeah so just make it be the multi spectral one by default, its really that simple

Which only furthers my point that “MMW too OP can’t be blocked by smoke” is bullshit.

The abstraction that all smoke grenades are multi-spectral is literally just a lore thing anyway. The backend, MMW would work literally I-fucking-dentically to IIR guidance.

every NATO and NATO ally can recieve multi-spectral smoke tomorrow if gaijin wanted to model it, china has their mysterious laser negaters on the ZTZ-99A that BVVD said were a long way off and idk if russia has reached the level of technological capability for anything beyond basic smoke and white phosphor

do they just screw up laser guided weapons?

The LSDW cooperates with the LWS to identify the source of a laser targeting the tank, then uses this positioning information to shoot a high powered laser into the optics of the targeting system, disrupting the guidance of the missile (and probably giving the gunner a good deal of eye damage.) This laser can reach 3-4km depending on certain environmental conditions, and would prove very useful, especially against helicopters.

isnt the eye damage thing a war crime though?

should be fine though, since JAGM-MR and spike-lr or ER idk which it is, both outrange 3-4km by quite a bit

wouldn’t work against the missiles themselves, however it tries to intercept the optics of the firing vehicle, and 4km is close enough to send a laser to a heli at the forward helipad

yeah its just better to explode the target to make sure that they die instead of getting eye damage.

if they do it with intent of causing eye damage im pretty sure its a war crime since it just causes unnecessary suffering

ik its wiki but still
