and F-104 is even worse.
You kinda need to turn to change direction.

put every rus plane up so, like the 21bis
? What
Interesting you should mention this. While the Tiger II certainly has far better flight dynamics, the MiG-21bis’ has a vast advantage with 6x all aspect IRAAM’s vs. the F-5E’s only two rear-aspect missiles.
Also, the Fishbed’s radar has IFF, which in Sim battles can have quite a significant impact.
the swiss f5e has tws which is even nicer for sim
…which it should not have: Swiss Tigers were never upgraded with this radar. Only the ex-Swiss Tigers purchased by the USN were upgraded to F-5N standard with the PD radar…
thats not really relevant tho
since they have them in the game
the discussion if its accurate or not is another one
Missiles do not track how far they’ve travelled… they have a set burn time…
For someone with decent stats you are remarkably ignorant of game mechanics
thats great man were happy to know how you feel 👍
there’s more to it tho
Burn time + Track time determine when it explodes
most missiles track for Longer than their motors burn, some Explode quicker than that
in addition to that missiles will Behave differently when they Lose lock
those with IOG keep following the direction they thought the target went for some time
those without may keep going straight for a while hoping to lock again and if they don’t they explode
some immediately explode after losing Target lock
Yeah. SRAAM goes for like, 6s. Launched at 0kph itll go ~3km. Launched at 1200kph it go ~3.5-4km.
I think saying “itll blow up after 3km” is about accurate enough.
The max range is super dependent on target speed though. Assuming 2.5km launch, you wont hit a target moving at 1200, but youll hit them if theyre going 600.
Well, the MiG also vastly out-accelerates any F-5, so I think they could get P-4s if they fix at least the cold engines and get to fixing the overperforming turn rate, which can also send the 5E lower in BR
lmao
lmao
The F-5E FCU at 11.3 is undertiered considering how big of an upgrade it is over the normal F-5E. It can easily be 11.7. (2 Python 3s and 2 9P-4s is pretty good)
I will say that an F-5E with just 2 Aim-9P-4s would be 11.3.
they’re fine, just because people can’t press their flare key doesn’t mean they should start facing R-27ERs, AIM-7Ps, and AIM-9M / AAM-3s
The F-5E is good at 11.0. If given Aim9P-4s it would have to move to 11.3.
The FCU is a significant upgrade that’s better than a lot of 11.3s, and even on par with some (overtiered) 12.0s.
if the F-5E goes to 11.3 for receiving AIM-9P-4s, the MiG-21Bis goes to 11.3 for having 6 R-60Ms, is what you’re saying right now.
just because the mirage F1 and Kfir C.7 are slightly overtiered doesn’t mean anything in context of moving the F-5E FCU up to 11.7, if anything the F1 and C.7 just need to come down and people need to learn to press their countermeasure buttons and stop getting cocky around F-5s.
Turning is the only thing the F-5 has going for it, and it’s not the only plane with an unrealistic turnrate. The MiG-21s are also far better at dogfighting than they should be.
it wouldnt, it can stay at 11.0 because it is slow and only gets 2 subpar missiles
