ima be honest, i do use soundmod (RCSM)
but in dev server i dont use the soundmod
when i flew the F190F8 for testing the missiles, the 13mm and 20mm sounded the same just with a different rate of fire
Adding my 2 cents and quoting my other replies from the update thread. Especially expand the second one, as I have been collecting various other opinions, and specifically complaints about “how distant” some of the sound effects are. Especially in Ground Realistic Battles:
Yeah man, sounds in ground battles are absolutely crashed. They spoiled both the sounds itself and tuning. I almost cant hear guns in 300 meters from me! One question to sound team: Why?! Why you do sound worse?! To make vision of work for your boss? There was normal, working and fine sound system! Why you crashed it?!
I like the new gun sounds. Not just the firing, more so the reloading. Before the sounds of autoloaders and the mechanical thunks of a sliding breach were muted and you couldn’t really hear them well. Now you can --hear-- FEEL them, although they do still need some work, it is still a major improvement over what they were.
Not a great big fan of the sound of distant autocannons though, not as satisfying as they could be. And for something is quite large compared to machine guns they barely feel punchier.
My favorites by far are the carousel autoloaders and the 30mm adens.
