In my examples I used specifically the BR 7.0 line-up where I have to fight against BR 8.0, which means 75 mm/88mm cannons against 105 mm. cannons with improved optics (aiming) + MUCH better ammunition.
As you - as an example - are using BR 11.7 - there is no BR higher and therefore it’s obvious, that you will not meet downtired enemies (dont’ take me for a fool).
That is the whole point - no uptiers. And then there were questions. You know, the stuff with these: ??
Since there are no vehicles that can be downtired on BR 11.7 - this is not a challenge - and thus outside the focus on downtired vehicles (Matchmaking vs Matchfixing)- and thus I don’t really see what your point is.
I’m not asking for the “best equipment” - but equal equipment based on a different factors which I have posted previously. Some players are much more skilled and experienced than me … and that’s quite fair. Therefore I have to improve my skills all the time - which is something I can change.
You do not contribute to change by writing how skilled and experienced you are in the game (not an allusion to you)… Because this has nothing to do with us fighting under unfair conditions. These conditions are something that ONLY Gaijin can change - and the only thing we can try to do is influence Gaijin by our participation here in the thread.
What I CANNOT change is that I must fight on unfiar terms against enemies - who have… not just better equipment… but MUCH better equipment than I do. I argue that we should have fair and equal opportunities (equipment) to fight on. That’s why I’m eagerly participating in this thread !
Assuming tanks: If you have a lineup with a BR of 4.7 you can get a full uptier to 5.7, and you can see vehicles as low as 3.7. This of course assuming there isn’t a chucklenut who makes a lineup of 1 4.7 vehicle and the rest reserve or 1.0 vehicles because they’d end up in your match with their very under-tiered stuff.
There’s also partial uptiers to account for the various BR gaps in nation lineups (for instance France high tier effectively jumps from 9.7 to 11.7 as far as lineups go; there’s a single 10.0 vehicle in there and it’s an SPAA).
It’s not a bad system but at the same time, with the BR gaps there are certainly BR’s where some nations are in a most painful spot.
It is true - it’s just that there are certain BR ranges (such as 7.0-8.0) where you have overlap between late WW2 vehicles and early cold war vehicles where things get painful no matter how you cut it. And more people will play the cold war vehicles so the MM will fill the matches accordingly.
Once you’ve passed that hump it’s not too bad (okay, in certain cases it can be…); I have 11.7 lineups in USA, Germany, France, Italy and Britain, but my most played one is 10.3 Britain. Do I get thrown into 11.3 battles a lot? 90% of the time. Doesn’t matter, though because the only real differences between 10.3 and 11.3 is that the higher BR tanks may have better penetrating rounds where I have to be a bit more careful and deliberate about where I shoot enemy tanks.
Anyway, it’s still isn’t match-fixing. Annoying? Probably. But even so, if you fight against 105mm tanks with a 75mm tank, play different. You know you can’t engage them frontally, and you know if they see you that you will most likely die. So flank them. Stay out of sight and put a 75mm up their tailpipe, they’ll blow up real nice still :)
That’s… apples and oranges. Matchmaking does not determine match outcome all on it’s own. Match outcome is a function of all tanks brought to the game, combined with player skill, combined with a fair bit of luck, combined with the potential possibility of actual teamwork occurring. Oh, and a healthy dose of RNG.
I want to understand exactly what you mean. Is the game simply perfect and developed so that there are no flaws and shortcomings … and that there is no reason to change anything? Are you employed by Gaijin?
I repeat again:
Did you enjoy the ~300 battles you fought with your top BR tanks (11.7), where the MM already works as you want it to work in general (no uptiers)? Is that such a difficult question?
Even with a 75mm you can take out barrels, and track enemies.
Yeah … but mostly you get killed before that happen. I’m aware that you are such a genius and expert in killing enemies with your 75 mm… You are just so fantastic ! … I’m proud of you. However … we are not discussing YOU - but the battles in general… AND if some 105 mm tanks - is able within one out of 50 to kill someone with a 75 mm… then we are talking deviations from the general observations. Maybe you should start a Youtube channel with “Learn how to be an expert in War Thunder - for dummies” … in this episode, an expert in 75 mm. guns/tanks will show you - how to kill a Maus with a 75 mm frontal attack. ?
At the same time, I have learned that in WT you have many different types of players. There someone who focuses solely on personal score - and someone who fights for the team. Some players avoid difficult challenges - with others rushing in and taking the fight. Some behave like cowards - while others for some completely different values … That’s just how we are so different… And I respect that. BUT belittling someone else’s style of play is not something I practice - and it must be up to the individual how they want to play the game … as long as we are fighting on equal and fair terms.
I would like to ask you to shift down a gear. You won’t achieve anything with me this way. On the contrary. Because this way of treating someone is also unfair. I have always treated you with respect and fairness. But all you’ve been left with so far is ignorance and subliminal offence.
I have learned that stupid questions should be answered with stupid answers, but since I am a decent and kind person, I will refrain from answering you in this regard. Secondly a 11.7 battle is not JUST as simple as you try to make it. It depends on in which state your vehicle are in… If NON spaded… you easily get killed in the first 30-40 battles… and therefore your question is a nonsense question - and I don’t want to continue a discussion on this level with you.
Ohh… I’m sorry if I have offended you. Maybe I am to direct and honest in my opinion’s. Please accept my apologize. Please be specific in what way I have offended you - so I can learn how you are thinking … and I will try to avoid hurting your feelings in the future.
Proposal … Change of perspective. Let’s assume you’re sitting in a Maus and every tank you encounter can penetrate you head-on. Is that still fair?
No need to change a specific and existing problem to all sorts of theoretical conceptions from the focus of factual issue. We can assume any kind scenario from now and until Christmas (guess work)- without changing the major focus here… unequal equipment’s / BR mix in battles etc.
It is objectively flawed.
Trying to cram performances of hundreths of vehicles, that come from different times and are desigend for different jobs, of course can’t be compared well, using a 1-Dimensional system. No matter how you get to this 1 D number.
The change of perspective is important in order not to lose sight of the focus. You have extreme tunnel vision and refuse to look at things from the outside. So it doesn’t matter what suggestions are made to you, no matter how good they are, your refusal to change your perspective even once makes it impossible for you to assess the consequences for others. And that is very far from fairness.
Because the greatest dictators were always convinced of their cause and refused to look at things from other angles. From their point of view, things were fair.
Let the other person always change things, then I’ll be on the safe side myself.
Have fun in WarThunder. What good are the years you’ve invested in the game if you feel like this now?
So now the so called “offended” is getting personal. I have NEVER wrote anything where I have insulted YOU- but I have mentioned, that “some people” and if you take that as personal … then It’s not me, who are offending you … but yourselves. Please read your own statement again “I would like to ask you to shift down a gear. You won’t achieve anything with me this way. On the contrary. Because this way of treating someone is also unfair. I have always treated you with respect and fairness. But all you’ve been left with so far is ignorance and subliminal offence.”
Nice attempt at distraction.
Thanks for this wonderful example of what happens when you don’t try to understand the other person’s perspective.
You didn’t understand why I wrote that.
Because I neither ignored your explanations nor did I subliminally insult you. It would help me if you could tell me what my subliminal offence was, if it was one, so that I can work on it. But again, I don’t hold out much hope because the standard answer will be.
“I don’t have to tell you because you wouldn’t understand anyway!”
And here comes what I always do when someone doesn’t listen to me or shows no interest in wanting to understand things.
I simply stop dealing with it. I have learnt to do something about the problems that bother me without relying on others.
And the solution in this case is so simple … :-*
Really? … try to be more specific … in how the suggestions can me misused ?
Not a nice environ to grow up in.
You are meanwhile hard pressed for anyone willing to debate with you. Nor are you willing to raise your level, not just with me. Have a nice day…
