Uneven matckmaking

Of course I know the word anecdotal and I’m also aware, that you are just misusing it - maybe because you have just learned the word - a basic word and most of all - something we have been learning and understanding since kinder garden.

Honestly that’s how most of the community seems to be. I’ve played with a lot of people and they all cry about problems or bugs that literally don’t exist (my favorite is the classic 9.0 or 10.0 in 6.7, things like that) The game has a lot of problems yes, but the community loves to make things up just for the sake of complaining i guess. It’s a community that seems to love being miserable

I feel it’s more widespread to be honest… ‘Newer’ gamers, are commonly not able to grind for extended times, claim that they have to work and that it should be a game, yet they want things that they need to grind out (Like they have no staying power or dedication).

But yea, it’s quite crazy…

They don’t understand pain. I won’t entirely but if I recall those who played Halo 3 and were trying to get Recon helmet know pain and what it means to grind out of there time just to get it and man from the story’s heard it was a very rewarding feeling knowing that many will not have this vehicle in the future.

Players want to play with friends…and i am guessing this will put pressure on the “lower friend” to improve/buy something better… :)

Everybody has to understand the grind is deliberately designed to frustrate new players, one of many ways this game manipulates them into spending real money regularly.

Free to play and feel free to pay to play less painfully. FTP game economics 101.

Wouldn’t necessarily believe it’s intentional, thing is a lot of New Players do not know their weak points. When they swap from Arcade to Rb there not expect how different it is. Such as no nametags and the green, yellow, and red penetration indication. As well as how slow or fast many vehicles vary between.

2/50 Battles with downtired enemies BR+1. This means in fact that a Tiger-II H has to fight against Object-120, IS-6, T-54 (1951/1949) and Maus etc. With this matchfixing/matchmaking system, someone at Gaijin has to come up with a better solution.

I expect a fair fight when I start a battle with a BR line-up of 100% BR 7.0… and here it’s OK if we have to battle against +/- BR 0.3 in difference.

By favouring some players for making a lot of easy kills - they not only have the highest kill-ratio… WE have to pay repair cost and I simply cannot understand … why favouring some players at all ?

Of course it’s intentional, every FTP game has to make money to survive, it wasn’t frustrating the needed income stream wouldn’t be there.

And yes what you say is true to, that’s part of any new game experience. God knows I suffered figuring it out in the beginning.

I have been playing WT since 2013 … and to me, the match-fixing sht. it’s still annoying. I only want some fair fights… that’s all… and I know a lot of players, who have left… because if it.

It doesn’t…sometimes you are hunted (lower BR), others you are the hunter (higher BR)…it should even out and end results will depend on how you do ON BOTH scenarios.
I actually think i am mostly midtier…so i try to find targets i can kill while avoiding those i cant…

A good tank to see this is the King Tiger…some matches have lots of “regular” tigers, panthers, and M4 variants…others you see MBTs…and in both you see lots of other KTs, M26 variants, etc…

A game I was in yesterday I had max 5.0BR… After getting gutted by a 6.0 I looked at the lineup. Red had 4 players with one or more 6.0 vehicles, blue had none. Red had 3 players with 5.7, and blue had 4. We got gut stomped.

I agree… and the next thing is … the downtired players often have 3-4 additional vehicles on the same BR level for respawn. … So once your team have lost 4-5 vehicles to kill the downtired vehicle… they will just be back on the battlefield with yet another downtired vehicle…

I have made statistics of each and every battle for months … and by 68% I have to fight against downtired enemies. For me - the solution of avoiding the downtired enemies is just leaving the problem for another team-member … and that’s not my spirit. The numbers confirms it all. Those downtired vehicles are by >90% the vehicles with the highest kill-rate. Secondly the opponents for the downtired vehicles have to pay the penalties for being an easy target and being killed / repair-costs etc. Thirdly, it gives the looser a bad statistic (for those who cares about that).

This is EXCATELY the same as if you join a Formula-2 race … and when the race is starting… you suddenly have to race against formula-1 cars … BUT YOU are being measured by your performance as equal Formual-1 cars. If you try to discuss this issue with Gaijin - then answer has been . “yeah, but then you have to flank them” … and blah blah… when everybody knows, that most fights are frontal fights.

Additionally I often fight WW-II vehicles … where I have to battle against 1970 vehicles, jets and helicopters etc. As it’s difficult to kill the downtired enemies … they of course gets more bombers and helicopter raids … which makes the battle even more difficult … with more losses on all ways.

Just give us some fair battels … and no more complaint from me… for now.

So I have been tracking uptiers lately as I have been getting frustrated in part due to the French 7.3 all getting moved to 7.7

Taking a sample of the last 50 matches this is what I found.

22/50 were Downtiers 7.7 or lower while 28/50 were uptiers either 8.0, 8.3, or 8.7.

@ 7.7 - 22 battles; 77% Win rate, with a 2.03 average K:D
@ 8.0 - 3 Battles; 100% Win rate, with 4.24 K:D
@ 8.3 - 13 Battles, 54% Win Rate, with 1.63 K:D (This is inflated by an uncommon 11:2 match)
@ 8.7 - 15 Battles, 41% Win Rate, with 1.0 K:D

You can see that realistically the higher the uptier the worse performance, in some cases at a full 8.7 uptier, I had ZERO kills and even had some notes wher eI could not pen a single tank I faced. These types of matches are clearly unfun.

Based on statistics of my gameplay I no longer play in any full uptier, as soon as I join the match and see the tier I immediately exit the match.

Please define what “uptier” and “downtier” is in your opinion ? is this relative to your line-up and is your line-up “clean” … which means all your tanks are on (example 7.7 BR) … or max 7.7 BR ? Have you made similar battle data for the crew level on your team. I have both the BR numbers and the Crew Team Level … With the combination of BR levels and (Tank BR and Crew level) I have got a much better understanding on what’s going on in the matchmaking (matchfixing)

I have an Excel sheet with all tank numbers/specifications (cannon, speed, ammo, turret rotation speed, armour etc. and if I compare what “downtier’ed” enemies I have to fight from my BR level - it is clear to me, that sometimes it’s not worth playing the battle… and I exit (just like you) any unfair battle.

The argument from Gaijin is, that IF they have to make more fair battles, then the waiting queue will be much longer. Well… If 4 out of 16 vehicles are downtired… then in my logic… the waiting queue will be approximately 25% longer - waiting for more players within 0.3 BR for the battle to start… and that is OK with me … I can wait for a fair fight…

Which “bugs that literally don’t exist” are you talking about … please be more specific ?

Can’t argue with your sentiments, the last few major update’s with all the changes with BR, economy and the usual nerfs and backdoor buffs to the hardware has severely chilled my time in game. It’s become obvious the games catering to and encouraging a more cut throat play style over what it was when we started playing. Used to play daily, I may log on once a week now if that.

You can’t argue that some who ‘quit’ blame anything they can to validate the reason they’re not functioning…

(I stand by my statement vehemently… This is a genuine constant in this game…)

So for me it’s pretty easy given the number of now 7.7 French tanks so my lineup is ALL 7.7. Any match over 7.7 is an uptier, any up to 7.7 is a downtier.

You likely have a much more comprehensive data set than I as I track, SL, RP, score, Win/loss, battle tier, server, game mode, game type, Kills, assists, aircraft kills, caps, deaths.

Like you, I would rather wait for a fair fight.
