Description
The Type74 tank is a domestically produced 2.5-generation main battle tank whose development began in 1964.
It is equipped with a main gun licensed from the British Vickers L7A1, and excels at ridge line shooting due to its tiltable body utilizing hydraulic pressure suspension.
The engine is powered by a 720 PS 10ZF engine developed by MHI, which provides good maneuverability.
Although 873 Type74 tanks were procured between 1974 and 1989 and contributed to Japan’s national defense capabilities, they have been retired in recent years, and all of them are scheduled to be retired by the end of FY2023.
The Type10 tank was scheduled to succeed the Type74 tank, but due to a reduction in the number of tanks, the Type16 maneuver combat vehicle has become the effective successor.

• The 80 mm UFP should be slanted at 65 degrees and the 40 mm UFP should be slanted at 75 degrees, this would make the UFP much more resistant to conventional tank rounds like APCBC.
• The armour connecting the UFP and the LFP should be 80 mm thick and not 100 mm thick. However, both the UFP and the LFP should also be modeled as volumetric plates to simulate the two coming together there.
• The internal upper side armour is not modeled correctly. While the sides should be a sort of composite with the external armour and then internal, the internal doesn’t actually have any value in-game making it null.
• The armoured piece protecting the front of the turret ring is solid and is noticeably thicker than the 6 mm presented in-game, rather it’s closer to somewhere around 30 mm from the top and 50 mm from the front if you compare its size to the 40 mm thick driver’s hatch. Oddly enough, the STB-1 is modeled correctly in this regard with this piece being modeled as 35 mm of armour instead of 6 mm.
• The gun the tanks use is a modified L7A1 by Japan Steel Works and isn’t a derivative of the L7A3 as is suggested by its name in-game. ([8])
• The STB-1 should have a quicker reloading speed due to its semi-autoloader which, at the time of posting this, isn’t modeled in-game. ([8][9])
• The Type 74 (C) should have its M456 HEATFS removed and replaced by M735 APFSDS. [3]
• The smoke launchers on the Type 74 should be called “Type 74 60 mm smoke grenade launcher”. ([8][13][14])
• It should carry twelve smoke grenades instead of just the single-shot of six ([1][2][3][4][5][6][7])
• The Type 74 (G) should have its thermal device changed to the model used by the (G) prototype since the vehicle isn’t based off of the production (G), which lacked sideskirts, but rather the prototype of the (G), with the sideskirts.
• The night vision used on the Type 74 and the Type 74 (F) should also double as a visible light searchlight.

You’re misunderstanding the terminology they’re using. In Japanese documents, Type 91 is referred to as “HEAT-MP-T.” That’s the projectile that your sources are referring to. HEAT-MP, itself, doesn’t exclusively refer to HEAT projectiles with dual-purpose fuzes, but can also refer to any HEAT projectile that’s multipurpose in the sense that it’s also meant to be used against light vehicles and infantry. In this case, Type 91 HEAT-MP-T replaced the earlier Type 75 HEP-TJ for usage against light vehicles, buildings, and infantry; while also being far more effective against heavy vehicles than the Type 75 HEP-TJ is. Due to its diverse mission set, it’s referred to as multipurpose.
