Not gonna accept with a unsure answer. The Leo 2A7V will certainly be a 3+ tank; however, the Challenger 3 will still require further investigation. There no official source saying it was an 3rd gen tank and majority of the 3rd party source said it was an 4th gen tank.
4th “generation” isn’t even properly defined
The British saying the CR 3 is a 4th generation MBT could also be them saying it’s the fourth major leap in capabilities, therefore “4th generation of British MBT design” (Centurion - > Challanger 1 - > Challanger 2 - > Challanger 3), but by other standards, it and the Leopard 2A7V or the Leopard 2A8 would be considered Generation 3 Enhanced/+ designs due to still being based on older platforms as a whole, but incorporating a whole bunch of new technologies/techniques/gadgets that didn’t exist back in the day.
FYI, the Type 10 ALSO isn’t a “4th generation” vehicle, it is by all means in line with Generation 3 Enhanced design principles, i.e advanced FCS, advanced munitions/engine/armor, etc.
What could be considered a 4th generation, would be an MBT with everything Gen 3+ have today, but with unmanned turrets, advanced high calibre autoloaders with next generation munitions/KEP/NLOS, drone capability, jamming capability, etc. The closest to it is unironically going to be the Leopard 3 within the next 10 years.
Let’s wait 10 more years before we can confirm everything.

Russian is bit more logical. 1st gen have composite protection, 2nd generally have autoloaders or blowout panels or ERA, 3rd get APS and electronical warfare features. Those are generally speaking, but this is usually what defies them.
Based on their own tanks, T-64A is 1st, Black Eagle 2 is 2nd, T-14 is 3rd.

Leo 1 is not classified as a Gen 2 MBT or anything. M46 and that stuff are Gen 1 and pretty much anything older – the classification of MBT didn’t exist back then.

Gen 1 is basically after WW2 and early Cold War tanks with better mobility, armour and firepower compared to those in WW2 and much more reliable too.
Gen 2 Tanks are basically an upgrade of the Gen 1 tank with bigger fire power and early introduction of composite armor and night vision, and stabilisers and early techs (APS)
Gen 3 is basically more advanced composite and bigger calibre gun and starting to have more advanced tech, a way better Stabiliser and mobility of the tank and have thermal sight. Some have basically decent APS systems.
Gen 4 tank is basically tank with fast autoloader and normally consider unmanned and basically very advance tech.

T-64A would be 2nd gen by your definition, not 1st gen.
What gen is a T-62 then?
Is a T-55 Drozd suddenly 3rd gen? And a T-80U 2nd gen?
Are a T-80UK and T-14 Armata both 3rd gen?

Chally 3 must be the worst challenger so i suggest we keep it to the 3rd gen as for now
by some definitions, its not even a MBT. And by some, even T-54 is an MBT already. Its a fun part of military history

The next generation of main battle tanks in development has autoloaders becoming increasingly more common, even in western designs, with some moving all of the crew into a more heavily protected hull space with unmanned turrets. The tendency to increase calibre sizes continues, with multiple designs having capability for 140mm guns to be fitted. A greater focus on active protection systems, especially against drones and loitering munition is also present, as is the introduction of AI-assisted systems.

Seems like someone also making assumptions without any experience on this tank.
Gun depression and elevation degrees can be adjusted by suspension so it actually gets much better depression than most tanks at same br.
Both horizontal and elevation speeds are at acceptable rates (should be 45/30 iirc but gaijin refuses to fix it) .
