Turret Baskets Rebalance

So most tanks at top tier do, the chally 2 is the exception so I understand if it doesn’t get one.

gaijin just cant admit that western systems are superior in any way and eastern stuff need big buffs to be even comparable to western ones.

Leclercs also lack turret baskets but I know you won’t cry about it because it doesn’t fit your narrative.

i dont have one but hearing the french the leclercs miss a lot more than just a basket

You sure do.

uhh… no i dont have a leclerk

I’d like the baskets removed/reduced massively in size so they’re comparable with other tanks, like before.

No, but you have an agenda.

i have no reason to have a pro leclerc bias

I’m not talking about pro-Leclerc bias.

The autoloader is a mixed bag, it dose help by catching a lot of spall that other wise may have caused a detonation, that also happens in my Japanese MBTs so it’s an autoloader issue, not a Russia issue. I think people confuse hitting the carousel with hitting the ammo, while before the detailed autoloader model the spalling would usually detonate a half empty carousel even if you hit the empty part, now the components eat most of it. I’ve also noticed you cant see the ammo location in the carousel anymore, so you can’t tell if you are hitting ammo or empty trays.
That said I usually lose the autoloader to shot that otherwise would do little to no damage far more often than it prevents an ammo detonation that would have killed me pre-autoloader, you certainly spend far more time repairing because of it.
So while it can save you from time to time even calling it a sidegrage might be a bit much, maybe a nerf with some beneficial side effects.
Turret baskets on the other hand are just a nerf.

I agree, I was keeping my opinions on CAS watered down to not derail the topic by starting another CAS/SPAA fight in it, there is enough threads on that already.

And it’s not a universal autoloader “issue” either, because in T-80/Oplot’s case, the autoloader is skeletonized so it doesn’t absorb anything.

It’s only a primary issue with the horizontal autoloaders, which of course include bustle autoloaders such as the Type 10’s, that have solid walls of mild materials.

And it’s an issue that can be resolved on our end by intentionally aiming for the powder charges in the case of T-72/ZTZ vehicles rather than relying on armor spall, or shell fragmentation.

Back when shell fragments and armor spall did low damage to ammo, even in WW2 tanks, I started to just aim for the ammo itself.

Japanese and French MBTs have blow OUT panels. Unless your round compromises the wall between crew compartment and ammo, nothing will happen. Even if they load heat, as the heat used by these tanks CAN NOT blow up and only cook off.

Russian tanks have blow UP panels. If you hit ammo, they cook. I at least run russian MBTs with a full carousel and have checked some of my replays and see that the autoloader 110% saved me from a fatal ammo rack. The typical “Driver-Engine” or Driver-Autoloader-Engine" shot that would have been fatal before the buff happened. That allowed me to shoot back, at least crippeling the enemy or just outright disabling them because “Basket - Engine” is essentally totally disabling the enemy.

It would make IR cas tremendously less effective as seen by the impact the Pantsir made towards Mavericks/GBU slingers.

It would also give a fighting chance against Kh38s albeit a very small one.

LOS Spaa is very much needed in top tier when LDIRCM Helis are more common than ever.

And now with autoloader modules, their ammo has a spall liner, so if you do compromise the blast door, you need to directly hit ammo pieces to ammorack them.
It’s very blatant on the Leclerc and Type 10, you’ll get shot, lose the autoloader, see that half your shells are orange veering to red, but you’re fine as long as they don’t get directly hit.

Any player with an understanding of the game’s system foresaw autoloaders as ammo spall liner, it’s just that the usual suspects being up to their usual self, they fantasized a major nerf exclusive to Soviet pattern tanks based on their hopes and dream.

What’s your point? It’s still the autoloader stopping an ammo detonation, sure a Type 10 sometimes survives anyway due to the blowout panels, but it still means you need to return to a point to reload and replace the ammo. Are you suggesting that Russian tanks should use a different model for the autoloaders because ammo detonations a always fatal?

Yep, I made the mistake of pointing out in the Dev post where they 1st talked about the detailed autoloader models, that given the already well established track record of modules eating rounds and spall it might end up being a buff, you can imaging the reaction that got. Seems like they had this idea that the autoloader would break when anything hit it, but all the steel its made of would not actually provide any protection.

You don’t get it bruv, surely this time it’ll be different, just trust me blud it was revealed to me in a dream.
Let’s just hope they actually vote for the regenerative steering test at least.
One must imagine Sysyphus happy or something like that.

If I remember right yellow/orange/red have no debuffs only black state does something in the turret basket.

Btw, I’ll make the suggestion soon, but first I need to record some videos to better illustrate how this whole rebalance works. So if anyone can help me record them send me a message, I’d really appreciate the help.

Ok, I’ve run into a problem with the suggestion. Since I wanted to include the entire turret basket rebalance together with the introduction of an emergency reload mechanism for tanks with autoloader, I’m not sure if it’s worth turning the whole thing into a “full stop mechanics rebalance,” or if I should leave the autoloader part out and make a separate suggestion for it. The rules say that only one proposal can be included per suggestion, so I don’t know which option is better.

I’m saying this because before the posts were merged, they were well received with 82% approval, and I honestly think they’re an important part of the turret basket rebalance. Including them would also help bring a large part of the community to support this change.
